  1. Thanks guys, After trying sea foam spray and letting it soak a couple days, I drained the carbs, pumped fresh gas in and same issues. I knew I should just pull them off and look inside and I'm so glad I did. I have brown sludge sitting in them. I'll look for a rebuild kit and tackle them my next free day. I appreciate all of your input!
  2. Just purchased an 84 Venture with 44,000 on it. I can start the bike with the choke on and keep it running as long as I leave the choke on and not touch the gas. If I touch the throttle or start to take the choke off it dies. My thought is to remove the carbs and clean them up as I don't know how long it's been sitting. Does this sound like the right place to start?
