    Thanks Rick, that helped alot.. I kinda figured that after 10+ years that they are shot, but knowing what a job it is going to be, thought I would ask. gonna be a Dec. job. for sure. Thanks again.

    oh, ok..... they have been on about 6 months, and no problems, but may go ahead and put clamps on them, they seemed so tight that i wouldn`t think they could leak, but never know... thanks, for the heads up..

    This is what I did, dont need the clamps as it is a vacume so they are not gonna blow off.

    I should also have mentioned that if I hit the front brakes the bounce will go away and when I stop hard with the front brake the bike will go down pretty far and not really come all the way back up untill I give it gas..

    not sure if I need srings or just change the fork oil, I am getting a bounce in the front end between 30 and 35, took the wheel off and re-ballanced, it was spot on, so thats not it, put a peice of card board in a clamp and set it allmost to the tire and spun the wheel, not out of round.... it is an `01 so springs are probably shot, just reaching for Ideas..     I got one from WingStuff, but after a yr. all of the welds started to rust, even if I get it re-chromed, it will be less then the Star rack.. I have a trailer that I pull, so only put small light things on the rack, and it holds my Flag... good luck.

    Myself and Janet had a great visit with Dave and Kathy today, he is doing better then last week, they were playing Dominos when we got there, he does pretty good matching the colors and counting the dots, good eye exercise. He knew who we were, called me kregerdoodle, Janet was JanetDoodle, Kathy was Kathydoodle or BossDoodle and he was DavidDoodle or just Dave. we had some laughs and a few tears. He will be moving to a new rehab on Nov.2 , they are really going to be working him hard, 9am till 3pm m/f and feild trips on weekends, this will really help him in getting him ready to go home, Kathy wasn`t sure on visitation, so after he is moved she said she would call and let people know when would be a good time to visit. Please keep the prayers comming

    Tom, many thanks for the up date, he did real good last week while looking at pics, he could name most of the folks in them. Janet and myself are planning on seeing him this Sunday, Janet was sick last week so she didn`t go up there with me, but Dave asked about her and picked her out in pics.. I`m with you, I beleave he will make great strides in getting back to how he was before the accident, him and squid were messing with me last week, so he is getting there. Just gotta keep the Prayers and good thoughts going up and he will make it, he is a fighter and not about to give up, so please no one give up on him.

    no problem, thats a long ways from Texas, I normally don`t start posting about the MX Day untill the end of Dec. so it wouldn`t be on the calander yet, maybe I should post earlier so that folks can plan. I will keep checking your dates, but just found out today that the kids my be coming here, so if thats the case, we wouldn`t be going that way any how..but ya never know..

    Welcome to the Family!!! Like has been said, these things are bullet proof... and there are a mess of us that live close by to help ya spend your $$$ LOL, I have a fairly large maint. Day at my place every March, but we are always messing with some bodies bike, be it Tires, Carbs, what ever, so you don`t have to wait for a maint. day to do the work. We will ride just about anywhere for BlueBell iceCream, or to dunk some folks in the Brazos river... Join up!! It will be the best $12.00 that you have ever spent!! Again, Welcome!!

    That would be great Boomer, we have decided to start filling up our bucket before it is too late... and that would be a great ride...we`ll have to keep this on our minds and see how it all pans out.

    I think they nailed it with the barrings, I don`t know anything about 1st gens but if I put 18lbs in my front forks I would have blown the seals right out of the forks.... I think max PSI is around 7lbs... ?????

    My Son and Grandsons are in Pompano /? so that would be a great trip from TX, see the kids and ride down to the keys...we`ll keep this in mind..
