GREEN LIGHT FLASHING – When the green light is flashing, the battery is greater than 80% charged. For BT Plus models the red light will also be on steady. (Note: Does not apply to the 8V Plus or the 6V Junior).

I use electrolysis. It isn't as fast as mechanical or chemical removal but it doesn't need to be neutralized and it doesn't eat anything but rust. Of course you will probably need a 55 gallon drum or so to fit the frame in it. If you want the details, I can send along what I do.

Rent an ozone generator. Run it over the weekend with the doors and windows closed. It actually kills the smell it doesn't mask it.

quick question about Skydoc's clutch upgrade
Money Venture replied to pbjman's topic in Watering Hole
OK, I'm getting ready to do this on an 87. On the above stage list is Doc's kit the heavier springs or the Barnett springs? On my Honda 550 years ago I went with a Barnett Clutch and 305 springs. It strengthened my left forearm but I was younger too. All I want is something I can ride two up maybe a small trailer down the road and no slip when accelerating in higher gears. I like to play sport bike sometimes but in a pretty tame way. Oh Yeah, what is a PCW? -
So, last weekend, I replaced the springs in the front of my 87. The old ones were 4-5 inches shorter than the new ones. There were 4-5 inch plugs that were inside the tube above the spring. The old springs were wound like a progressive spring so I am guessing they are a different brand like a Sonic? Anyway, I didn't use the spacer I just inverted the washer with the lip in it and used the factory cup under the threaded plugs. It sits right and rides nice. I am just curious if the PO replaced the old springs with the wrong ones or were they also worn out because with out air it was bottoming out in the driveway.

1987 Brake Pads
Money Venture replied to Money Venture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks Kevin! -
I have seen multiple part numbers for the brake pads for our bikes. Do the FA123HH fit the 1987 Ventures? All three positions? Around $30 per rotor? Thanks.

My Buddies Want to Use SENA Headsets
Money Venture replied to ResilientMonkey's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
My wife and I traveled with my daughter and her husband this past fall on the bikes. We have the Sena 20 headsets. All four of us talked back and forth. I also had music playing and GPS turn by turn all at the same time. I was against getting them due to the cost. I now can say if I had to, I'd buy them all over again. -
cleaning rust off smaller chrome pieces
Money Venture replied to Eck's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
Molasses from the Farm store cleans up rust on metal that you can't get too. Takes a few days but it cleans good. I have used aluminum foil to clean chrome. Works good too. -
