Took a longer than my daily commute ride today. For the most part I stayed in 5th gear around 50-80mph. Gas mileage came in at 44.79. I think the bike is 100% now.

Did you get a bigger or at least same size garage? That is the important thing in life, right under keeping the misses happy.

I too like the classic look of the www, but I went with the E3s and got a craft store white paint pen and painted my letters. I will post a picture later if I remember. PM me if I forget.

They are only open tuesday - Saturday. Oh well. Kantornado and I might have to go check it out some Saturday. Possibly meet some riders from AZ.

Are you going to be here at all on the weekend? Kantornado works second shift and wants to meet up as well. I should be good for tuesday evening, I'll be in a class from 0800 - 1630 that day. Since it is the last day of class we will probably be released early.

I am looking for the right side and it is the Allen that holds the peg on that I need. The Allen is not a huge deal I can find that pretty easily.

Previous owner did not believe in loctight apparently. So if anyone has a spare peg and bolt that they would like to sell. I would be willing to buy. The IPhone 4 will not fit in the cassette deck with a case on it. I just checked. How many other guys just tried to shove their phone in the cassette deck?

Hey Kantornado, if I am off on Sunday you and the Misses should join me for a ride out to somewhere about 50 miles from here.

I think sunday after church if I am not working, I will fill up and go for a 100mile ride and check my fuel consumption at that time. The bike sounds great, doesn't stall out anymore and is smooth as smooth can be. All plugs are getting spark, so I think it is my daily commute that is killing her gas mileage.

Yes a lot of my riding is in 1st and 2nd gear. There is a few miles between the 2 parts of base where I can go 45. But all in all, i only get high speed when I go out joyriding or have to go across town. I will do regular gas for my next tank. I will also get it at shell instead of on base. We will see how that works. I bought another inline spark tester last night (loaned my old one out and it never came home), I will check to make sure i am getting spark in all the cylinders today.

I am up to 28.63 MPG. A lot of my riding is at 30mph or lower. So this is not too terrible. Still have room for improvement. This is on mid grade gas.

I am in Las Vegas and have a soldering iron and heat shrink and heat gun if you ever need to do electrical work. I am a Radar Technician on Nellis, so I have some experience with electronics. I also have most anything you will need to work on a motorcycle, and I am constantly buy new Tools (toys). Hit me up if you ever need anything.

I just ordered a Custom Bilt Jet Cruiser 3/4 helmet from cycle gear. It was on clearance from $99 to $24.95. Just a heads up for anyone looking. They are having a great sale. The other reason for the post. This is my first helmet that is not a full face. Has anyone used this particular helmet and what sort of eye protection works. Sunglasses, goggles, foam padded sunglasses?

I am using chemtool in the next 3-4 tanks to make sure all the residual crud clears out. Thanks for the info goose, I'll knock that out tomorrow. I also put the loud pipes back on it, and I am loving it.

The bike ran a million times better just after all the stuff before the sync. I also cleaned the carbs and adjusted the idle. The carbs looked BAD.

Are you talking about the rails that go around the bags, or the ones that are on the lid?

Ben, how many miles do you have on your bike. I think you and I are in the same boat. I have an 01 that is running bad right now. I am changing the fuel filter, spark plugs, removing and cleaning carbs, and sync'ing the carbs this coming weekend. I will let you know if any of this helps. I already ran seafoam through a tank of gas and it helps a bit, but I am still getting horrible gas mileage and the bike is not running right. We'll figure this out.

Nope, I weigh 170 and it is pretty flat around here. The wind is crazy today, but not normally too bad.
