I love my E3s, It was a big pill to swallow. $550 for front and rear installed. I hear that I will be able to get good mileage out of them though.

Are the rotor covers the same for the 2nd gen as the 1st gen. I currently have my rotor covers on my bike, but I bought the wrong disk lock and now need to ditch the covers or get a different lock. so if they are the same, I will ship them to you. less chrome for me to polish.

Hey Puc, you bring some of that rain stuff to venture west, and I will bring all the dry hot air from Las Vegas, and we can trade. Our roads down here need a good rinsing. freaking oil caked on top of oil. BTW I think you need a bigger wet/dry vac. it looks the same as trying to clean up the gulf coast oil spill with a shop rag.

Just went to Teespring to order a shirt, there is only 3 reserved right now. I really want one, so that means that 47 other guys and gals need to put your money where your mouth is and really care for the kids.

That is one sexy bike right there. I love white bikes.

There is a balance to that though. I keep the revs up, and my gas mileage sucks. I have to calm down a bit to get the better gas mileage. I don't mind though. If I wanted good gas mileage, I would have bought a 600cc or less bike. Plus, how many people can say that they have drifted on a touring bike. i've done it twice now.

This got me into all my old pictures, so I posted all my old bikes in the picture folder. Thanks for starting this thread, brought back some fond memories that I have had with all my past loves.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/image.jpg After the issues with work cleared up. ( in the military you are guilty until proven innocent) and I received my back pay, I went out and bought this lovely lady. Stay tuned for how i personalize this one.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/IMG_4950.jpg After grinding my pegs and exhaust on the ground on multiple occasions, I decided I was not done being a fool. 2004 R6. I did not modify her much because I got ordered to Korea and sold her. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Bobber%20Project/April120111.jpg Got back from Korea and rushed to buy a bike and ended of with this pile of junk. 1995 Honda Shadow VLX delux 600 http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Bobber%20Project/IMG_7347.jpg Took a winter off from riding and turned the piece of junk into this cutie. Then I ran into some financial issues at work, and sold the bike.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/R6137a.jpg Of course I could not leave that bike alone. I make everything mine. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Harley2.jpg Then I had a friend that almost died on the twisted sisters in Leakey, so I calmed down and got a 2006 H-D sportster Roadster 1200. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Harley62.jpg I also got a sandblast cabinet and a powdercoating system. Bye bye chrome!

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/5-28-2005-4.jpg 22 days after my wreck while I was still on crutches, I bought this beauty. 2004 Kawisaki z1000. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Picture167_edited.jpg I did not like the gold, so I polished the heck out of it. I also removed all the stock badging and added my own later. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/R64.jpg The Z1000 wasn't cutting it in the Texas hill country (bandera - Leakey) so I got the 2006 Yamaha R6. 95th one to roll off the assembly line.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/DSC02108.jpg I started off for a few months on a 2003 honda rebel 250. This bike was in bad condition. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/newside.jpg Then I bought a 2005 VStar 650 Classic http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Picture011.jpg Lightly modified it and then got hit by a car.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/DSC02108.jpg 2003 honda rebel 250. I did not know anything about motorcycles at the time. I did not even know how to ride. Look at that purdy chain.

you might have an issue or just not be used to the high reving V4 that we all love. I assure you that stock you can cruise at 85-105 comfortably. When I am on the highway, I normally shift to 5th at 55-60. It is an O/D gear (so is 4th or so I have heard, but don't quote me on that).
-
I practice painic stops, purposly locking up tires, and when making turns with no one around, sometimes I will goose the throttle a little to slide the back end out. I will also go ride when it rains and "play" around then. crosswalks in the rain are super fun for loss of traction. With all the playing I do, I have never been panicked or scared when I am sliding my bike toward the back of a truck stopped just over a hill crest. I am usually very thankfull that I know exactly what my bike is going to do.
-
Something I always do when stoping behind another vehicle is; point my bike diagonaly toward the open area around the vehicle infront of me. I ride in the left lane most of the time, so if there is a turn lane or shoulder i point left. if there is oncoming traffic next to me, I point to the right of the car in front of me. I do this so I can escape quickly if someone desides to not stop behind me.

Dang brother, take a trip down to Las Vegas Nevada, it is always summer here, except for those few weeks that make us shiver while riding our bikes.

I was saying that the 1st gen is worse for painting. too many parts. I have a few less parts on my 2nd gen. I will eventually paint it. I would not paint a 1st gen.
-
I have painted a couple motorcycles, and That still surprises me at how many parts there are. i can't wait to see that thing back together. I am dreading having to pull my second gen apart and paint it someday, I would probably just not do it if I had a 1st gen...too many pieces.

Got the tank badging for my '99 RSV today....

I use auto emblem adhesive. It comes in a normal tube like other auto adhesives. It is a lot more permanent and there is a lot of ways to screw it up (seep out the sides, slides while wet, instantly bonds everything except the emblem) I don't know why the heck I use that crap. I guess i like the challenge or i like self inflicted pain and agony. -
That is awsome, i look forward to days like that. My oldest boy is only 10, but he loves riding with me whenever the boss will let us. She still won't let me get out of residential areas with him. Soon enough though, he will be on his own bike.
