  1. What started out as what I call a "Sh*T Eating Grin" when I first pulled up and he met me at the door, quickly turned into a sort of pukky lip flutter then wide eyed shrienking backstep before I got finished with my little speach. Can you see the visual?
  2. They say restraint is the first step in anger mangement. I've got to keep remembering that. Unfortunately, I'm getting older and sometimes I think my memory is fading. Sometimes it's difficult to avoid the erge to go a little "Postal", especially when there are so many jerks in the world. I guess it was a good thing that I did not remember or did not think about the fact that I was packing heat in the trunk. So is loss of memory a good or Bad thing?
  3. Many of you probably don't know, but, some of you might suspect that there have been periods of my life when I have struggled with anger issues. Yea thats right, I have times when my anger management techniques don't work. There I've said it. This morning was one of those times. Last night I spent the night at my girl friends, who happens to live in a condo. We have been dating for about a year and last night was not the first night I had spent the night. Nor the first night that my bike spent the night peacefully parked in the parking lot. But, this morning when I walked out the door the first thing I see is that some A*****E had put a F*****g 12" x 6" orange super sticker glue sticker across the windsheild (right at eye level) of the borrowed Midnight Venture I have been riding which read basically, and I quote "NO MOTORCYCLES ALLOWED" So at this moment i'm thinking F**K anger management. For the next thirty minutes I very carefully pealed the sticker off the windsheild as my blood boiled, making sure that the sticker came off in one whole piece. So that I could haul a** down to the management office armed with the knowledge: That there is no posted signage on the property informing the general public of that policy and I was realitively sure he could not enforce it. That my girl friend had complained to me on several occassions that she hated to go to the management office because the married Property Manager always hit on her making sexually suggestive comments to her. Suspecting that his attack on my motorcycle was probably personally motivated against me I sped on down to his office to carefully place that sticker in some conspicouse place while voicing my opinion about his management policy and my anger management technique or lack thereof. Did I display self control and maturity when I confronted that Property Manager. F**k that. Was I calm, cool and collected? I doubt it. Did I handle the situation in the best possible way? Probably not. Could some of my actions and words be legally construed as Terroristic threats. I'm sure. Did that Property Manager believe me when I told him where I would shove that sticker the next time he put one on my bike, or what I would do to him personally if he ever behaved inappropiately to her again, as I carefully rubbed out the air bubbles from between the sticker and his office door glass. He better. Did I feel better as I rode off. Yes I did Sorry for the rant, Thanks for letting me vent. I'm over it now.
  4. Sounds like your singing to the choir to me. Do youself a favor and do yourself a favor.
  5. Next Friday 10/29/10 RandyR is coming down to help me do a Valve shim check and change job and carb sync on my 87 1st gen. A couple of members that knew this was coming up expressed an interest in coming over to watch the process for these two common maintenance functions on these motors. To do these functions and other things I have planned, the bike will pretty much have it's skin stripped off and will be down to a running chassis stage. This stage of access will be conducive to talking about, explaining and showing other common problems and fixes for the 1st gen MK2 XVZ1300 platform. Well next Friday is the day. Randy will arrive at my house around 10:00 AM-ish and we will spend the day turning wrenches and talking mechanical stuff. We picked this Friday because it was the first date where I could get off work and coordinate with Randy's schedule. Even though it is a week day, All that are able, interested and willing to show up are welcome to come. I have set up a nice work area under cover in the backyard and there will be a cooler with beverages iced down near-by. If you think you can come PM me and I will give you address and directions. If there is any interest I'll make arrangements to have some meat on the grill to feed you as well.
  6. I would like to fix the lower left fairing on the loaner bike my buddy loaned me while I'm doing some repairs on my 1st gen (As a gesture of appreciation for the loan, I didn't damage it.). The bike I'm riding is a 2007 midnight Venture so I am looking for one in black. Does anyone have one they would like to sell or know where I can find one. I'd would really rather avoid ordering one from a stealership if I can help it..
  7. Yea I thought so Too........Thanks Freebird for confirming my suspicions:thumbsup2:
  8. I don't know the script looks a little too feminine. I liked the older stickers where the font was not so fru fru. Can they come in grey or silver?
  9. Glad to see you posting and hope your health is improving. Looking forward to seeing you back in Georgia as soon as your able.
  10. You do have to pull the engine for that........ squeeze me.............. My bad Sorry, I didn't mean to insult you considerable knowledge... just trying to be helpful
  11. Thats what I did works great
  12. Lewis, You don't have to pull the motor off the frame to replace the starter clutch. I know because I just did it on my bike. Pull the stator cover then flywheel. The starter clutch is on the back side of flywheel. Not a bad repair took me about 10 minutes once I got the flywheel off. Requires a flywheel puller you can borrow/rent from auto zone.
  13. Most important meal of the day.
  14. I've been making a short video to send to Paul Jr. to get his attention. The Video is eight minutes long and tells who the F.O.E. is what we do and why, as well as who the eagle riders are, the proposed project concept. When I get the video finished I will post it for y'alls review. If your interested in learning more about the Fraternal Order of Eagles you can check out the web site at www.foe.com
  15. I was able to find a link to the Anti- Venom and the Gieco Insurance bike which were his first two with Jr. Designs. Both bikes were unveiled at Sturgis this past August so the series is at least a month out from real time. Both bikes are pretty cool. I think I found the link on his face book site.
  16. Wondering if we have any members close by Jr's shop who wouldn't mind dropping in to try and catch Jr. in person to let him know we are trying to get in touch with him.
  17. Earl, You have a valid point of view and I'm sure that much if not all of the Paul Jr. vs Paul Sr. Drama is staged by the producers for TV rating reasons. Taking sides is half the fun of watching the series. I personally lean more to the Paul Jr. side because I believe that Paul Jr. and Vinny were the creative talent behind the most famous bike builds and to me Paul Sr. comes across as an egotistical, arogant A**h*** trying to grab all the credit for the creative work of others. I also feel that Sr. has said and done some mean and underhanded things to his sons which rubs me the wrong way and makes me not respect the man. Jr. seems to be better at keeping things going with a positive spin (most of the time). ...... But, thats just my opinion. The reason I suggested Jr. for the build was partly because of the foregoing and partly because I believed he would be more accessable and easier to work with than Sr. since Jr's business was trying to get established. But, now after having little luck in getting Jr. to respond I'm having second thoughts about that. And, it has been suggested as you have to approach Sr. to get this project off the ground. Maybe I have been taking the wrong approach. Maybe I should approach TLC and suggest that we would be interested in talking to both and to see which would be better suited to do our build and let them compete with each other on the air for ratings for the chance to build our bike.
  18. Done dit it ...........no response got voice mail left message no response
  19. Been there done that............ no response
  20. Can there be an anti spam filter installed?
  21. You see, I like the show American Chopper on TLC. This seasons episodes of Paul Sr. vs. Paul jr' has peaked my curiousity. Early in the season the Knights of Columbus approached Paulie (Jr.) to build a bike for them and renigged by the second episode of the season. That got me thinking about the possibility of getting him to build a bike for the Fraternal Order of Eagles which is an organization that I am envolved with. We have an membership of over one million members with chapters (or Aeries) all over the world. All of our Aeries are developing our own Riders groups which I have been a part of at our local Aeriel 714 (Atlanta, Ga) for the past couple of years. My idea was to approach Paul Jr. To build a F.O. Eagles theme bike that we could use to raise funds for Diabetes Research. The problem is that I have tried to reach Paulie Jr. through every avenue I can think of and have not been successful in getting him to responde to our enquires so far. Our organization is all about raising money for charitiy and getting him to build the bike would be solely for that purpose. The problem is this. I'm just a lowely Ole country boy from Georgia. And don't know how to make big waves. But, since it was my idea my organization thinks its a good ideal and has put me in charge of making it happen.:yikes: What do I do next. I'm open for suggestions.
  22. 10-4 on that when she get's to Georgia thing, we'll show her what cat's head biscuits are about with all the fixings. She'll be sopping up sorgham syrup, Tupelo Honey and milk gravy like a home growed Georgia cracker. :dancefool::dancefool: Sounds like shes allready got the local lingo down.
  23. I had a day off work and woke up in a strange sense of humor and biscuits on my mind.
  24. As all of you have so adequately illustrated there are many ways in which a biscuit can be buttered, and just as many ways that one may be ate. In the world of Biscuitology there are many questions that must be contemplated that drastically affect the taste, texture and size of the proper biscuit. If you are of those that gets your biscuits from a can you probably have not dwelled on this subject. But for those of you that don't you probably are of a unshakeable opinion of the proper way to prepare, garnish and consume the perfect biscuit. For instance, how many of you know the exact number of times that biscuit dough should be kneaded to acheive the perfect texture and consistancy? I for one believe that at the very least a biscuit should be buttered on the bottom of the top side of the biscuit due to the gravitational effect of the direction that melted butter flows after the the two halves of the split biscuit are rejoined for consumption. But, I can entertain the notion that buttering both the bottom of the top and the top of the bottom are equally acceptable. I think that we are mostly in agreement that it is just wrong to butter the top (except for browning purposes) or the bottom due to the "Butter side down floor flop theory" and the "sticky finger theory" But In large part the way that you address your biscuit is subject to personal prefference. That too is ok since I don't know of any laws against it. Now that we have scientifically covered this topic I think it is safe to lay it to rest. At least untill breakfast tomorrow where this subject will be addressed again.
