  1. Does the Baton carriers have to be signed up on a team or just VR members? If they have to be game players this could take a while with the number of players signed up so far. I think no teams to start with. Which team you are on depends on which baton you accept to carry and pass on, But can only be passed to VR members. There must be a prize too. How about winning team gets to pick the location for the next International M&E Rally?
  2. How about a short piece of of say 2" PVC with end caps (Not Glued) We could make a form for data entry Roll it up with a pen and stick it in the PVC/Baton. You could also use it to carry a San disc card (SD card) that will fit in anyones digital camera. The photo evidence could travel with the baton and be uploaded ( without erasing card) to the thread by each baton carrier. Makes sense to me.
  3. Sorry Your right, My Bad....I meant to say Crank shaft. You know the tapered shaft the Fly wheel goes on.
  4. I did a rookie thing and screwed up (I hope not big time). To make a long story short, What size tap should I use to clean the female starter threads out on the inside of the drive shaft that the Flywheel bolt screws into? And where can I get one? It looks like a M12 x 1.25 thread pitch. I've tried Sears, Harbor Frieght, Northern Tool and NAPA. None of the sets they sell have that particle size included in them.
  5. Who would be a source for an apparently Odd bolt thread tap. I'm looking for a M12 x 1.25 thread pitch and evidently it is not popular enough to be included in any of the tap and die sets I have been able to find so far. I have already checked Sears, Harbor Frieght, Northern Tool and NAPA.... No luck
  6. What good is it owning one if you don't carry it? I say: Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
  7. Maybe I was confused
  8. 1ST GENS ARE NO JOKE.... I DON'T CARE WHAT STEVE SAYS:backinmyday: It was a pleasure meeting you and helping with breathing new life in the old girl. I know this will sound strange to those 2nd genners but working on the 1st gens are half the fun. Don't worry about tackling some of those future repairs, upgrades and modifications. Just remember: If you have a question, post it and it will be answered........Multiple times:banana::banana::banana: If you need help, host an event, and they will come.......from across multiple state lines.:7_6_3[1]::7_6_3[1]::7_6_3[1]: If you need a part some one has one laying around your welcome to..... sometimes two or three. Anything and everything that will ever need to be done to her has already been done and figured out:detective: by someone else on here and has written an article complete with pictures, diagrams, little red arrows and references to vendors and any other supplier of knowledge, parts or materials you may ever need.

  16. What Bike do you have? I can help you with the 1st gens, That happens to be my area of expertise amoung many others on this site. I'll be there also. If you pm me and give me an overview on what your dealing with I've got a bunch of 1st gen parts that might help you out.
  17. Does my on board Tequila Pump, B*T*H seat vibrabrator quallify, or my right side kick stand, not to mention the ingraved windsheild and Dragonslayer artwork on the custom paint job (5th revision).
  18. In for a penny in for a pound. On this years round of 1st gen bike upgrades so far: New tires and rubber front and back By local Two Brothers tires Lawrenceville, Ga. Specializing in MC Tires. Programable TCI upgrade By Dingy New Starter clutch by Dano. So in prep for new Starter Clutch upgrade I'm noticing second stock stator is 1/2 crispy. Evidently, Time to do the high output stator Upgrade. So my question is what is the latest and greatest word on a high output Stator upgrade options for a 1987 MK2 XVZ1300 VR. Might as well do it now while I'm into it this far :mo money:and I have a loaner bike, and convertible to drive around until the 1st gen gets back on the road. Bob
  19. I like your approach to solving mechnical problems. I've tried the same before. It didn't always work on the bike but it worked for me.

  24. Lewis, I'm glad he is OK and you heard from him. I was imagining the worst.
  25. I love this. "Annouce it and they will ride!!!"! Instead of "Build it and they will come"
