  13. Would you have a link? ...... Are you suggesting that Georgia is not the right place?
  14. Does anyone know who the Georgia contact would be to join?
  15. I HIGHLY recommend you check this I just had the exact same problem and fixed it by doing exactly what Saddlebum suggested. I confirmed this was the problem by wiggling the starter button while engine was running and the light would come and go.
  16. There you go best of both worlds...... If want a reliable touring bike and a hot rod project. I'm projecting on my 1st gen as we speak. Putting it back together for the millionth time. Most all of the ongoing problems seem to relate to corroded electrical connections. Currently resurrecting the audio/CB sound system.
  17. Somehow the visual of you driving that ride isn't quite right......; It should be me driving that ride.
  18. I own a 87VR MKII and have been riding a 07 Midnight Venture loaner for the past 2 years. Being intimately familar with both, here are the facts. 1st gens are faster when they are running right. But, Being 25 years old requires a lot of TLC, Tweeking, maintenance and up grades. They have a few more standard features than the second gens that I like. The second gen is not that much slower and there is a real advantage in not having to work on it every time you turn around. Unless your hung up on speed the 2nd gen is a great ride. My advice:backinmyday: for what it's worth. If you want to tour getting a touring bike with a trailer hitch. Touring and long distance motorcycle camping is much easier with a pull behind trailer. I'd go for a low mileage used 2nd gen. Save the bucks:mo money: have a great ride :7_6_3[1]:seriously consider the trailer hitch.
  19. I believe Barend has a hack he is not planning to install on his new bike. He did have it mounted on his MKI. You might give him a PM. Or, you could get that wife problem fixed. I'm not sure which one would be cheaper.
  20. Nah don't do that. It would propably cheaper and easier to talk someone closer in to helping you out. There's not much we can do about the price of gas is there?
  21. I'm sure you could but by the time I got my passport renewed you probably will be finished. Other wise I would be glad too, except WV from where i'm at is a hop, skip and a jump. From here to where you are is a hop, skip, jump and a longa$$ haul. Although, if you could wait on new passport, buy my gas, provide tools, materials, room and board I'd consider coming up and helping with the labor.
  22. Thought I'd offer. Good luck repossessing your truck.
  23. Hey Yammer, Could you use a little help for a couple of days on this project. I suddenly have plenty of time on my hands and am about bored to tears hanging around the house. I'm handy and can do anything in the building trades. If you could use or want the help I could ride up for a few days. Or, are you going for the most number of post pages on a single VR.org thread topic? Bob
  24. Hey Gary when you find the t- shirts let me know I want one. Bob
