Yea but, if you've lived here all your life it's easy to move through the neighborhoods and avoid the busy roads.

Under my present circumstances I really would like to find a classic scooter restoration project. I'm not doing a 40 mile a day round trip commute and a good deal of my travel is around the block and up and down the street to the store and back. It would be nice to have a scooter to putt around town on when you can't do more than 35 mph anyway.

My guess is that if you ever have to do any work on the bike that may affect the carb sync you will want to re=sync them again. With time and mileage the Valve shim clearences will change possible affecting carb sync. The manual says that for carb sync to be acurate the valve Shim adjustment proceedure should be done first.

I don't care what anyone says, picking these bikes up is a PITA now matter how tall or short you are.

:sign yeah that: I agree, truth be known, I really don't care what you ride. He[[, I even wave at scooters now... I figure they take the same risk as us in traffic.

I'm not proud of it but I have on several occassions in different scenarios. Best advice is if anyone is around get them to help you. I have found that it makes a lot of difference what terrain and surface footing condition it falls in. If it falls over on a down hill slope with gravel under your footing and there is no help your screwed. Adrennalin rush is also helpful in the right conditions.

I've tried that several times and it does not seem to make any difference at all. I think I screwed something up inside the gauge. -

While working on the bike I have noticed that the bullet connector had some paint on it where i had sprayed it while touching up the frame. I cleaned the paint off and the connection is good. I'm pretty sure I caused the damage by trying to remove the needle from the gauge and it has not been calibrated correctly since. -

Reassembling the 87VR XVZ1300 for mayby the 40th time, I'm trying to address and correct all known bugs the bike has had. My current road block is the temp gauge in the gauge cluster it does not work. Or, should I say it does not work correctly. Meaning that it is not calibrated right. Cold the needle is halfway up the scale. At normal operating temp the needle is pegged off the hot scale. Does anyone one have an old set of gauges laying around with a known good temp gauge the could part with, sell or trade?

I just the hate the parking lot comments of the uninformed when they walk by the Venture and comment nice HD or GW. I actually had a guy stop me the other day and said he used to have a Venture and it was the best V-twin Yamaha ever made.
