Is this about the tyranny of the powers that be against poor downtrodden bikers? Would a strategically planned VR M & E at the courthouse be any help? Is a call for revolution in order? What can we do to help?

Has anybody got a deer yet this year?
Dragonslayer replied to adventurer 08's topic in Watering Hole
My son and I both shot a deer. The same deer. He shot it first then later in the morning when he was following the blood trail it got up and walked out into the field in front of me dragging it's guts so I shot it again. I let my son claim the deer so that he would clean it and tag it. It still went into the family freezer where we will all be enjoying it until it's gone. Other than that it's been a slow year. I shot at three others but did not find them. -
Life is what happens while we are planning to do other things

Dont believe that for a minute you will have much more fun if everything that happens to you is a surprise and adventure. Planned trips end up sucking.

You tell em Brian, remember back in 08 when I did what he's thinking of doing. Think he can cross that river on a trike. Where was that Palo Dura Canyon? My advice is don't wait four years do it now or as soon as possible. Secondly, Don't plan a thing. What I did was refer to the good road atlas each morning before saddleing up and pick whatever scenic route was closest to where I was/you are, no matter what direction it takes you. And, just remember..... It's not the destination it's the journey. 55 days, 6,505 miles door to door, 20 states ATL to Sturgis then around the country in circles and eventually finding my way back to a ATL. Did the trip by myself but I was never alone and had the trip of a lifetime. Just ask Brian... I had the pleasure of meeting him and spending a few days with him in Amarillo on that trip. Every biker owes it to himself/herself to do a trip like that at least once. Oh yeah if you decide to swing south near North Georgia give me a shout and I'll try to arrange to ride a while with you.

I vote for AdVentureriders.org. That seems to include our roots and opens the door to all brands makes and models.

Good question? I can only speak for myself, but I would imagine that the draw for this site is mainly because of the good people on the site and brand loyalty. If you take away the brand loyalty part or reason for membership, that has got to knock a big dent in the membership. I just bought a millenium in the recent past and I don't see me getting another bike anytime soon so Ya'll are probably stuck with me for a while. But, truth be told, if I was to win the lottery and decided to go out and get another bike, I'm sure it would be a Goldwing. In which case I'm sure I would probably be spending more time on the Goldwing forums. As much as I love all of you. Not saying just saying.

And a new Yacht too

I'm surprised.... Given the simularity between snow and ice cream I would have thought you would have loved snow. ..... Now down here in the sunny south on those rare occassions when we get snow we sometimes make snow ice cream.................. What can be wrong wid dat?

It's official, we set a date for our 1st Maintenance Day

Whoa..... hold up there Nelly..... Not necessarily... before you start replacing the wiring harness there may be a much easier fix. For instance... The emergengy flasher switch on the inside edge of the right dash board is actually a junction for the signal circuits meaning that the brake lights and turn signals go through that switch even though it does not control those functions. It could just be that that switch is bad, in which case you just unplug the old switch and plug in a new switch. The point being, there is a comprehensive wiring schematic in the manual I gave you as well as a downloadable one in the tech section. Get someone that can read and enterpret electrical schematics if Micheal needs help with that before you condemn the entire wiring system. GeorgeS, is the one member that worked with me from the very beginning on the electrical system on that bike. He is the reason (or one of them), I am still on this forum and riding a Yamaha. He is a retired airline mechanic and detailed oriented electrical guru. He spent months of his time talking me through trouble shooting and repairing the electrical system when I first got the bike and immediatly had an electrical issue which also turned out to be a simple fix once we determined what the problem was. Chances are by trouble shooting by the wiring schematic you will probably find out the problem needs a minor fix. Changing the clutch basket is also an easy task and can be done in a few minutes. If that is what the problem is, check fluids first, the master and slave. Call me I'll discuss. I'll help as much as I can considering our geographical differences and time constraints. Remember, the bike is 26 years old and there will be some tinkering envolved. It is possible to get an advanced degree in Venture Mechanics from Venturerider.org University. Use the 1st Gen Tech Talk forum, ask basic questions and pleanty will give you the correct answers and tell you where to look. Trust me, I've done it. By the way I ran across the original owners manual for that bike. Do you want it? -

What's wrong with the electrical harness. I can probably help you with that. I spent more time in that harness than anyone else alive. My experience is to look at the electrical quick connect plugs 1st. 99% of the problems I every had on that bike was due to poor connections at the quick connect plugs. -
My read of the article said the motorcycles sold in US, Canada and Mexico are made here in the United States. The ones made in India would be sold to the rest of the world. I'm not a big Harley Kool-aid fan either but, the bike does kinda look neat for a bike without luggage space. I'm not into carrying stuff on my back in a back pack so I won't be drinking the kool aid either.

It's just that everytime I think about blizzards and snow drifts my body shivers and I go BUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRR The only kind of Blizzard I'm interested in has oreo cookies in it.. Don't tell Big Tom I mentioned Blizzards, please.
