Upon reading my first thought " I'm so sorry you ended up in Kansas" meaning no disrespect or insult to any Kansasites (is that a word?) Who may be reading this. It's just that the few times I've traveled the Kansas roads it was not as I recall a fond memory. LONG, FLAT, BORING were the first words that popped into my mind. But then there was that day in 2008 when I rode the Pony Express freeway from Saint Joseph, Missouri to I couldn't take it anymore and had to turn North into Nebraska. It was so hot that day (130* in the shade) I thought I was going to melt into a greasy spot on that long road. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are a bunch of wonderful things to see and do in Kansas and I'm equally sure the folks there are wonderful people. I'm not saying otherwise, I'm just saying that the few times I've been there I must have missed it. I couldn't tell by your post but, other then riding through a corner of the state did you see anything I missed that might change my mind about wanting to revisit Kansas?

Anyone interested in a M & E rally near Atlanta this summer?
Dragonslayer replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Watering Hole
OK, Looking ahead on the calendar all the events listed for July are up North in Canada and Ohio. Nobody seems th have anything scheduled for 4th of July. That seems perfect and appropriate for me. So I'm thinking arrivals on Friday July 1 and event ending on Wednesday July 6th. THERE COULD ALSO BE FIREWORKS. -
As soon as I posted I knew I was gonna get some guff about not posting pics....... but Officer I swear that if you let me slide just this once. I will take care of that little matter and that pesky intermittent tail light as soon as I get home.

Has it quit snowing up there? I do have analytically space planning and organizing skills... And will travel...... But I don't do snow.

Through the years, since joining the Venturerider's forum I have been very fortunate to travel around and see our beautiful country, visit many of the venturerider events and meet, become friends with many of you. Not to mention all the technical skills I've acquired while so many of you contributed you time and energy helping me tweaking on the different Ventures I've ridden over the years. In the past I haven't always been in a place, circumstance or ability to give it back or pay it forward like I would've liked to for all of the good times, good friends and hospitality I have received from many of you my fellow Venturerider brothers and sisters. Now I can. With that in mind I thought I would throw out this inquiry to see how many might be interested in visiting my home at Hacienda Ranchero at Little Paradise for a Meet & Eat retreat near Atlanta. Here's the deal: I live in a rural area outside of of Atlanta centered between Conyers, Stockbridge and McDonough, Georgia. It is a nice house for entertaining on a beautiful twenty acre property of mixed woods, meadows and fields. There are plenty of nice private places to camp scattered around the property with established fire pits and plenty of fire wood for the picking up. All guest would have access to the semi finished basement which includes Jacuzzi, shower the other plumbing necessities, as well as my home being open to guest as needed. If camping is not your thing there are decent accommodations within about ten miles with whatever shopping restaurants or entertainment you might desire at Conyers, Stockbridge or McDonough. The garage is a decent work shop to work on the scooters. Meals could include, ride to local restaurant, whole pig BBQ, country breakfast , wiener and hamburgers roast, byob and beer. There is plenty of attractions within nice ride distances that could include State parks, Stone Mountain or anything else Atlanta has to offer. I post some options and let you decide ride plan. If this is something you might be interested in I'm thinking 4th of July weekend. I'm open for early arrivals on Friday July 1st and late leavers as desired on July 6th. If there's interest I will set a date and start planning. PLEASE POST BACK WITH YOUR INTEREST AND ACTIVITY/RIDE SUGGESTIONS.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and I wasn't going to waste it. Got my son out of bed and encouraged him to assist me with my mission for the day. Since I moved into the Hacienda Ranchero the garage/workshop had been in a unorganized state of disorder and chaos with boxes stacked with accumulated junk and clutter. Last week I was able to snag some discarded cabinets and countertops from a remodeling project at work. So we went to work cleaning out, sorting, discarding, organizing tools equipment and building work bench, storage and work space. The end result turned out well and the motorcycle and convertible both have a comfortable home and work space. I know this will not mean much to many but, I was so pleased with the result I just thought I would share.

Should Cowpuc put stickets on his new bike
Dragonslayer replied to XV1100SE's topic in Watering Hole
Does this new pristine bike have a trailer hitch? If not it needs one. I think he should leave the bike pristine and get a harbor freight trailer kit and plaster the trailer with stickers. -
Good job go girl, Hammer what happened to you?

Don't hit the update button.... I did and it killed my 6 year old laptop.... I was forced to go buy another computer ...The old computer worked fine with the older version but was not compatible with Windows 10... once it is installed it was too late... software sabotage... I was pissed.

Canada to Cancun on the 250$ Venture - The full ride report
Dragonslayer replied to jfman's topic in Watering Hole
Wow, being from the sunny south of Georgia, even though we have a 12 month riding season, riding in the snow and ice is something I'd never do. Driving rain no problem. Tell us more. -

Ok,....... Problem solved Yamagrl Heather detoured (200 miles) from Kentucky to Pensacola via Atlanta to drop by and help me scratch my head. What a gal, I'm definitely recommending her for a service award. We started probing around checking this and checking that until we got to the quick connect plug from the engine kill switch. Now this is a different right handlebar switch assembly since the bike originally failed. I had plugged and unplugged that connect a half a dozen times and ohmed the kill switch through that plug and could not find a problem. And yes I did have the kill switch in the run position. But, this time when we stuck the probe through the back of the connect to check for voltage on the blue/white wire all of a sudden we had current and the bike crunked right up just like it was supposed to. Go figure, a loose connection????????? Next week I'll be putting all the stuff back on I took off trouble shooting the dang thing. Then ride. My hat is off to Yamagrl, Thanks for all your time and trouble to help another stranger Venturerider out. I'm not surprised after all the years witnessing the venturerider magic on this site and all the amazing acts of kindness I've witnessed, Yamagrl, I'm totally in your debt. Thanks a bunch. Be expecting a visitor next time I can come your way. -

Ok, with the ignition switch on and pressing the start button. I do not have 12 volts to the red/white wire, nor do I have continuity from blue wire to ground. -
