On the road again...to MD..at first stop sunrise in Athens, Ga. 6:45 am

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, Underground weather is predicting Thursday sunny high73° FRIDAY cloudy high 80° Saturday thunderstorms high 90° Sunday partly cloudy with rain high 74°. Who was that member we used to refer to as the Rainmaker? Is he coming this year?

RKRefugee decided he preferred taking the interstate route instead of the cross country route I had planned. I understand, there are pros and cons for each path traveled. Each is challenged in life to choose their own journey. While taking the interstate route is projected to be quicker I perfer the more leisurely cross country route avoiding the major cities and congested traffic. Only time will tell which is the correct path. The downside is I still don't have a travel companion for the ride up there. So my intinary remains as first post if anyone else wants to connect up along the way.

Are FROG gigs and harpones still allowed for the pond monsters?

What's your address so I can plug into GPS. I can find Oberlin but I'm not sure I remember how to get to your place.

Got a call from AKrefugee this morning who as it turns out is almost a neighbor. He's discussing travel plans with missus. He's gonna call me back this afternoon if she's willing to ride up to MD together.

This ought to be fun. I'll do my part to make it as entertaining as possible for her. Is she familiar with nocturnal lake lizards and snipe hunts? Since you're caging it you ought to swing by and throw Puc and Tippy in the back and tote them with you.

Has anyone mentioned cold solder joints on the Tci connection contacts? Loose contact points on connector pins or high resistance on wires. Clean connections are fine but if your getting high resistance through the connection points the weak point can be something other then the connection contact surfaces.

I was planning on leaving around daylight on Thursday morning from home bypassing Atlanta traffic by heading back roads to Athens, Georgia as the 1st way point, from there: Athens,Georgia to Greenville, SC 1:40 minutes Greenville ,SC to Asheville, NC 1:13 minutes Asheville, NC to Johnson City,TN. 1:02 minutes Johnson City, TN to Pineville, KY 2:11 minutes Pikeville KY to Ashland, KY. 1:47 minutes Spend the night somewhere near Ashland, KY. FRIDAY morning: Ashland KY to Columbus, OH. 2:19 minutes Columbus, OH to Oberlin, OH 1:56 minutes Which should put me at Don' sometime around lunchtime Friday. This is basically the route RandyR and I took up there several years ago. It's a nice ride up Hwy 52 (Country Music Hwy) thru Kentucky.It was a nice ride and avoided most major cities. I'm open for meeting up with other riders if any are interested and I don't mind altering the route and schedule somewhat to accommodate others schedule and routes to some degree.

I was heading back home after a ride yesterday and found a nice spot on the river with sand beaches and no maintenance. It's just a few miles from the house. Nice cool water swimming hole it was a real pretty spot so I spent about hour cooling off in the water. Did I mention no maintenance. I don't think I'll be putting in a pool anytime soon.

I vote we just put you in charge of making this happen. What's your plan Chief.

I polished the chrome and packed the bike with gear. It now looks like a 2nd gen Midnight Venture version of Tweeks 1

I'll be skirting west Virginia along Kentucky Thursday afternoon and was planning on stopping to spend the night around Ashland, KY. Then riding on up from there Friday morning.
