  1. weather forecast down here for Christmas day .........60° Not saying.......Just saying.
  2. Or, I would agree with you but, then we would both be wrong.
  3. You mean Venturerider has a FB page. How come I wasn't told?
  4. Go out and play in the snow drift. Or shovel snow so you can get the car out of the driveway to go to the store. How many snowmen and snow Angels do you really want to make. Down south it does get warm and sultry on occasion but we can take a dip in the ole water hole to cool down if need be. And there is always a refreshing glass of mint julip or lemonade or a cold beer. We never have to plug the car or motorcycle in at night to keep it from freezing. The only time you are shoveling is when you're digging a hole. And then we have a much longer bikini season and year round riding season. I'm gonna require a lot more convincing Jeff.
  5. I just don't get it. You really pay that much to live in the frozen north. When you could live far cheaper in a tropical environment. I ASK AGAIN WHY.
  6. Once again I ponder the question of WHY WOULD ANYBODY WANT TO LIVE IN SUCH A PLACE?
  7. Are talking about th FOE Eagle riders?
  8. I want my 1970's disco cowboy body back. I had hair back then.
  9. Asking price $230k. Plus furnishings if you want them. There is also a brand new 2016 Toyota Camry with 1900 miles that can be had.$270k lock stock and barrel.
  10. If you really need a reason to be pissed at the world come down here and drive around in Atlanta traffic for a few days. That will drive anyone to road rage.
  11. Can I possible interest you in a twelve month riding season in beautiful Sun City, Hilton Head, South Carolina. My mother's furnished villa is on the market.
  12. Is that all you got?
  13. As a matter of fact my Sporterized 1909 Berlin made m98 30 06 Mauser has a Argentine emblem on the breach under the scope mount. Got any idea what it might be worth? I've always wanted to find a period correct bayonet to go with it but have never run across one.
  14. My dad and his brother served on the same ship in the Pacific during world war 2 and spent most of their tour at Pearl Harbor and the Philippines. My dad never spoke of the war at all. I can only surmise that since they were both quartermasters that their job involved equipping the men they served with. I regret never having talked to him about his experiences in WWII.
  15. I will have to add this to my destination list.
  16. Wow, you must really love pecan pie! :-)
  17. Heather, It took me a minute to realize this post was about you or I would have stepped up to the plate much sooner. 1st off OMG, prayers up , hope the suffering is light or the drugs are good. 2nd, I'm here for you whatever you need 3rd, Don't be quick to let insurance company keep bike. Even wrecked There still is a lot of potential in big red. 4th, we can work out the logistics of transport home, storage.in route or whatever it takes. You got one he'll of a support staff on this forum.
  18. I guess you probably realize by now that you found your way to the right place to learn all there is to know about the Yamaha Venture motorcycle.
  19. GreAt thanks for the link. I can't wait to get back up there and check it out.
  20. Hey Heather, I now have a vehicle with a trailer hitch. If we can arrange a trailer I will be glad to help you get Big Red from Nashville to Pensacola. Don't let big red go before talking to me even if you didn't refurbish it you could still make at least four times the value by parting it out.
  21. Hey don't give up on big red yet. My 87 kept getting knocked over by other people damaging the plastic body parts. Because the cost of new body parts from Yamaha were so expensive the insurance company would total the bike and pay me off never asking for the bike or the title. On five occasions I would pocket the money fix the plastic, repaint and put it back on the road since there was never any structural or mechanical damage. The last time they paid me $6,800 to settle since the attorney for the insurance company was the one that hit the bike apparently drunk while it was parked on the opposite side of the road. Counting all five times I was paid off on it that bike made me more than $25k in insurance proceed.
  22. I tried to Google "The Lodge at Two Wheels of Suches" to see if they have reopened under a different name. It used to be know as T.W.O. standing for two wheels only. But all Google links led me right back to this thread.
  23. Hate to admit it but none of us are getting any younger.
  24. That had been one of my favorite places to stay in North Georgia. The last time I was up that way the place was closed down and looked like a derelict property. That was several years ago. If it has reopened I had not heard anything about it. Of course I'm probably not on that particular call list. I hope it does reopen, if so I'll make a point to go check it out and give a report on what it is like now.
  25. my oldest rifle is a 1909 Berlin made 30 06 mauser. I now have a whole collection of old military rifles.
