  1. Storms passed and even though it was touch and go all day there was no report damage other than a roof leak and damaged ceiling tiles. I'm responsible for emergency response protocol and we always evacuate when gas leaks are reported. Better safe than sorry. We have gas leaks reported regularly. What confuses me is: They always seem to happen on a warm pretty days Most of our buildings have very little gas fired equipment We never find any trace of gas when we sweep the builds except once. It always seems to be the same people reporting the gas leaks in areas of the buildings where there is no gas piping or gas fired equipment.
  2. Yesterday my plan was to finish doing the severe weather drills. Before I could pull the trigger on that, someone thought the smelled gas so we did an emergency gas leak building evacuation instead. Swept the building for gas leak to find no trace of gas. So 500 people got to stand around outside on a beautiful spring day for a couple of hours. Today, we have wide spread tornado, flash floods, damaging hail watches and warnings and everyone is blowing my phone up wanting to go home. I just saidme too but that decision is above my pay grade. You think they would have been happy with the two hour break they had in the sunshine yesterday. Now everybody wants to run out in the rain get pelted by hail or blown to Oz by a tornado.
  3. Ok you peaked my interest. I've been thinking about one last road trip on the open road and the Grand Canyon, four corners area, red rock k country on motorcycle has been on my bucket list. I'd like to know more about your plans and I'm not getting a good read by turn by turn directions. Can you elaborate a little more on what yours plans, schedule and itinerary is. Although I do love to travel with a minimum of plans and itinerary. I would probably catch up with you at Bainbridge from Atlanta but need to know about trip duration to plan around real life.
  4. That's the same bike (year, make, model and color) that got me started with this group of misfits back ten years or so ago. It's been a wild ride and adventure since then.
  5. Well they caught a homeless guy named Basil who they believed started the fire while smoking crack under the bridge that caused the bridge collapse. The judge set bail at $200k and wants to charge him a $1.00 fine for every person affected x 2 1/2 million plus. Why not the entire cost Atlanta and Atlantans lost due to a wandering crack head? They will never collect a dime from this guy anyway. Actually Three hots and a cot will be a promotion for him.
  6. That is exactly why I don't let the goats in the house. They don't care where they poop.
  7. The second one looks like a rig tractor supply sells for around $600. I don't remember the name but I look at every time I go there.
  8. your right about the scenery of the Badlands but when I was out there in 08, the gravel roads were all wash boarded out. The 50 mile ride through there liked to kill me. It also almost rattled the bike apart like it was a Harley.
  9. I kinda like 85 Fubar but that describes Atlanta traffic every day.
  10. So this morning on drive time radio they were taking suggestions for names for this latest Atlanta disaster. So far the names in the lead are; 85 Nose Dive I Cant Drive 85 85 Apocolapse 85 camp fire Can you think of any?
  11. I-85 going through the middle of downtown Atlanta just collapsed. If you're familiar with the traffic flow through Atlanta you know that is a bad bad thing. The news is saying this could have disastrous consequences that will cripple Atlanta for a long time.
  12. Still riding that Hardley?
  13. I saw my dog in the front yard tearing the case to my Morgan Carb tune to shreds.
  14. This reminds me of the teather controlled model airplane I got for Christmas when I was a kid. I was about 8. My dad took me out to an empty parking lot to teach me how to operate it. First there was the fueling process, then battery operated glow plugs and engine start procedure. Then of course my dad had to fly it first to show me how. 1 & 1/2 rotations before nose dive into the ground. That was the end of that. I never did get to fly the stupid thing. Not saying, just saying it sounds like a very quick end to a very brief and expensive hobbie as a super sonic model jet jockey. Good luck.
  15. Sounds fun but that is on the complete opposite corner from where I'm at. Don't see how I can make it this year.
  16. Not much in Robbinsvile but I did have the opportunity to spend a night in the Quality Inn on the main drag due to weather. As I recall it was nice and reasonably priced.
  17. Thanks for the update Patti, While in or near Atlanta you are welcome to land here at the Hacienda Ranchero. Just southeast of Atlanta, we have plenty of room for you.
  18. I would love to know more about this project but, since I don't ride a trike I am excluded from see the post.

  22. Oh AN ulterior motive, Give me a minute to think on that. There bunches of breathtaking views. Does she like wAter falls?
  23. I totally agree, Not just because I live in the southeast, I've ridden all over the country and the rides you are describing are some of the best. Heck, throw some dates out and I may just try to catch up with you on some part of it.
  24. my earlier technique works equally as well on the other species you've named.
  25. Cars tires at a sufficient rate of speed will generally relocate them to the ditch and I have never seen one find it's way back from there.
