Flow thru bolt for banjoe brake line fitting.
Dragonslayer replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Watering Hole
You know I thought so but the owner of the bike keeps correcting me telling me it was an 82. I figured he had the title and registration for it so I didn't argue the point. -
I need one with brass washers for anti dive valve on 82 XVZ1200. Does anybody have one they would be willing to sell or trade.

I use a cover I bought from a after market vendor for about $15.00. It's made from a heavy mil thickness plastic material that looks like a big grey garbage bag. It may not have that Designer, "I paid big bucks :mo money:for this cover" looks but, it serves my purpose nicely. My main concern was to keep moisture off the bike when I have to park it outside in the rain. It works perfectly for that and when neatly folded and rolled up fits nicely in the lid of one of the saddle bags. I have compressed it enough to fit in the space behind the seat and under the passenger backrest of an 87 Venture Royale. I've had the cover for over a year and have found it to be very durable. It did get a small rip in it once which was easily patched with a piece of plastic shipping tape. In fact the cover actually saved my life recently when I got caught in a wind, rain and sleet storm on the top of Mt Mitchell, NC. The weather got too bad to coninue and I was forced to make an emergency stop in the middle of the night and in the middle of nowhere. I pulled up in front of a closed truck stop and threw the cover over the bike and crawled up under it with a collapsable chair and two sleeping bags. The wind blew at gale force with the rain and Ice but I stayed warm and dry under the cover. Had it not been for what sounded like Elk bugleing and Coyotes howling all around me all night I'm sure I would have gotten some sound shut eye. As it was I did manage to get a few hours sleep until the paper man woke me up the next morning because I was blocking his access to the paper boxes.

I don't do it often but, I have noticed that it is very intimadating riding the bike when I'm Naked. Don't you agree.

Jeff, You do too deserve it and I'm as proud as you are to be a member of a club of great people that appreciate your type of goodness enough to show it with meaning. How about posting some pictures of the SS bike for those of us that could not be up there for the presentation. -
Glad to hear the project is coming along ok, And you wife is still oKay. My advice on marriage safety tips must have paid off. Sorry about you not snagging the pictures. . I Don't think you will have a problem mixing them you just don't want to mix synthetic oil with non synthetic oil. But, who said 20w40 was no longer available, I just Bought 20w40 no problem.

Yea and look how much hostility came out in that thread. I still want to know how you did the IBS thingy. -
oooops!! May be too late. I hooked up the new battery exactly how old battery was hooked up. See picks. There was no green wire with transistor and white/red wire was hooked directly to positive terminal of battery. Someone had added this in the past even though there was a port for the water level sensor that was still plugged.

Thanks GW, Just what I needed to know about battery monitor system. I'll let you know what I find out about clutch fluid.

George, As usual YOUDAMAN. I've had a good teacher and mentor in you and I'm already right with you with this one, Gas tank has been drained, oil drained, new Odyssey battery, starting to check, clean moisture proof electrical plugs. Monitor system is showing all checks showing warning I understand gas, lights, But I did not expect kick stand (kickstand up and bike on centerstand) battery is new, brakes and water. So I'll be going through those systems as well. Question since Odyssey battery does not have an internal probe, how does the battery monitor system work and why am I showing check battery indicator with fresh battery. Could that be related to cleaning up ground points? Shifter was useless because earlier mechanic said bike fell over in his shop and broke corner of stator cover where shift shaft goes through cover. Sounds weird to me because this bike has driver footboard and heal/toe shifter which completely protects shift shaft and I do not see how a fall over could have damaged the shifter and cover the way it did. I have another cover so this won't be a big deal to fix. But, The clutch fluid system was completely dry and I'm not sure why. Any thoughts?

I had something happen to me today that got me a little aggrivated. Not wishing to say the wrong thing I started thinking of more politically correct ways to describe the circumstances. But, then I got confused with my terminology and could use some help here. What would be the more politically correct phrase to be used by a caucasion minority. Reverse Descrimatory Customer No Service Policy Reverse Descrimatory passive aggressive hostilility by impeding with slow motion action Reverse Descrimatory aggressive passive hostility by impeding with acclerated motion to interfer with ones progress Maybe I'll just sleep on it.

Good advice, thanks for reminding me or I might have done just that. Hasn't been turned over for three years but was running when parked with shifter linkage problem and fork tube compression problem due to blown out anti-dive solenoid. Then there is the cobwebs, pine straw and oxidation.

I know but at this stage of life every new task seems like a project. Even getting off the sofa to go to the bathroom sometimes seems like a project.

I got a new project bike in my driveway to start on. It really isn't mine It belongs to some old friends that I haven't seen in years. These are great people, Matt and Charlotte Flory, of Lilburn, Georgia. Please welcome them and look forward to meeting them soon as new members. We had lost touch several years ago due to moving, changing watering holes, and busy lives, ect..... A mutual friend mentioned to me that they had a Venture that they might consider selling, so I got in touch with them. They told me that they really didn't want to part with the bike because they loved it so much, but wanted to get it back on the road. It had been sitting under cover for several years with a few problems and they didn't know how to go about getting started with repairing it considering it's age and not knowing anyone who could or wanted to work on it for them. As we were talking I told them about my experience with my 87 XVZ1300 and how finding this site and all of you that have helped me have made it possible for me to be able to keep my bike alive in my heart, mind, soul and under my butt as a daily driver. One thing led to another so we came to an agreement that helps both of us out, me helping him get his bike on the road and him helping me get some punch items repaired for a upcoming House closing this month. I can't wait to get started on it and am trying to shoot for the July Georgia M & E for a target date of having him with me at that event riding his rejuvenated VR and meeting some of you. I've told him how great ya'll have been to me and I think he's really looking forward to getting involved with Ventureriders.org.

Hey danob11 is that the scoot put back together. How was the project? Did your marriage survive?

I use Yamaha Venture Royale as an advanced search in e-bay and get only parts for parts for that bike.
