  1. Cabinet design and great magnet/cone material !!! Look at Orb.
  2. Got a lot done on cabin today. Bushed. But not to tired to say: Prayers Up!
  3. I mentioned to Bill this morning that there is an issue with using the Class system. Page 2-39 of the service manual has a note: adjust front first, then rear. If reversed, residual high pressure air can leak into front forks. I'm not sure if this was Bills problem with his front getting hard..... But... It could be an issue for anyone of us.... The next question would be... Could we accidently put to much air in front shock this way to blow a seal? Would this much residual air pressure be available to do that? I don't know.... Anyone have a thought? @KIC, sorry I wasn't in town this morning to help. You know I love getting grease under the nails!! Hope your 1st gen is back on two happy feet!!
  4. Nice!!! Welcome to our crazy group!!
  5. The radio mutes a little when the CB receives a signal so you can hear the CB. Do you have the squelch for the CB set to low so it thinks it's getting a signal all the time? Try setting the squelch around 12 to 15...then plug yellow CB connector back in and see if radio works properly. I'm now going to contradict myself cause the cb has a separate volume control so it can override the radio if you turn the CB volume up loud enough. That's one of the confusing things about a 2nd Gen remote...it can do multiple things depending upon what button you push first. Look and see if the mic button is pushed in on left handlebar behind the clutch lever.
  6. Well in looking at the Corbin web site...they don't have anything to support her lower back. That is her complaint...hence the round pillow and foam I can stuff in between the travel trunk and the seat back giving her even more support on lower back. Wonder if I can make something that will screw in place of the wiring cover and offer support. Have to think this through...
  7. Suggest you check the trunk first as Bongo mentioned. That will help alot. Should be some pictures on the site and a "How to" thread as well. Second, my wife/mate is petite as well....and she made a simple round "tube" made of foam and a sunbrella type material. Gives her some pressure on lower back. My lady turned down the idea of backrests...doesn't like to feel trapped.
  8. Kic, I bought the aerosol kit for $79.95, the two touch up pens for the RSV for $24.95 plus shipping. Total: $122.60 d
  9. Oh...DUH....sorry about that....got the number from the web site: Color Rite 1800-736-7980. West Coast ... but got call back from East coast. I believe both numbers are published there. Contact: http://www.colorrite.com/site/contact.cfm http://www.colorrite.com/ david
  10.>>[/i] Come on down...you can ride mine!
  11. Great news! Color Rite still has the formula so they will make up the color for me and ship. I bought the aerosol spray package...so everything is coming my way within 4 to 5 business days. I did suggest to Color Rite that they publish the old codes for VR's from 83 to 91 on web site...with a notation to call them to see if the color is available. I told them about our web site and the hundreds of us around the world who could use this information... But even if they don't do this, I do suggest you call them if you need some paint for your VR. Thank you @Freebird and @yamagrl for the suggestion to contact them!
  12. Sorry to hear today was one of those days, Charles. I hate it when I have a day like that!
  13. Amen. Even though my mom is gone, I think of her all the time and wish I could have just one more smile. So to all the mom's still kicking and enjoying being the "Boss"...I salute you! (Amber...She's a friend) david PS My mom is in the video....Pic I took by the lake, She's looking at me (camera)....in brown sweater, at 3:22 on left.
  14. Can't get enough riding the two lanes around here. Mission Road is a bumpy, crotchety old thing...but it is a scenic byway...so....since the first gen is down for repairs...gasp....I simply had to....
  15. Thanks! Will give them a call Monday!
  16. [/color]Did you put LED bulbs in there? I did for mine and then my lady suggested some tin foil inside the reflectors as they are cheap plastic and dull inside. The tin foil allowed those LED bulbs to shine better! Running lights....no picture of brake lights cause my arms aren't long enough!
  17. Having troubles finding paint for my 89. Seems Color-rite no longer carries the Dull Blue Cocktail. Anyone have a lead, please PM me... thanks, david
  18. Me too. Lots of posts and I haven't been on here that long. I wonder if the site counts every time you click "like" or "Thanks for this post"? Guess that could be a posting of sorts....
  19. I did a 14 hour day last Fall. I was tired but didn't have a screaming butt! 2005 RSV.
  20. Yep...them SR's had a few issues. We had one make an unscheduled stop in Phoenix, Luke AFB, while I was in the USAF. Do to my duties, I was called to be on base when she came in at night. Impressive machine. The hanger got instantly hot when she rolled in....big sucker! Thanks for the story....
  21. Bigbob, can you find out more info on "Windshield glue"? Is that the stuff to repair windshield or stuff to glue mirrors and such on Windshield?? TIA
  22. Douglas, first of all... You are way beyond me in terms of engine knowledge... So hope you will stick around to help out the rest of us not quite so knowledgeable! Second, I know this is a simplification... But unless the PO did a rebuild... Which is doubtful as these engines are bullet proof usually... I would tend to think the cams are good. What has been done, however, by some of the best of us... It's to forget which cylinder is which. So... dumb question for ya... Are you sure you know which cylinder is #1 ,#2 ,etc.? #1 is rear left, #2 is front left, #3 is rear right and #4 is front right. Can be confirmed with wiring diagram colors for tci and coils as well. I ask cause misidentifying a cylinder could explain why cams seem weird. Told ya it was a dumb question! Seriously, I'm going to follow this thread as it sounds a good learning experience for me. Thanks for sharing!
  23. Update: Moved xm antenna to right side of inner fairing. Better reception for some reason....
  24. Boy.... That's a hard one. Not sure if I can think of anything..... Hmmmm...
