Can I confuse the issue some? :confused07: Within the ranks of the 1st Gens, there are the Mk 1's and Mk 2's. Former were from 1983 to 1986, latter from 1986 to 1993 ish.

After reading all these posts, I thought Pat and I were the only ones with problems riding. Sobering thoughts above....for sure. Don, I hope Eileen gets better fast... And as @cowpuc says.... Hope all you lop-eared varmints can get some riding time in this year!

Sounds familiar. Pat has a bad back and this morning she told me she didn't think she could do long trips anymore. She always stresses her back working around house, etc.. Hence, the research into toy haulers, RVs and trailers is back on the front burner. She did say I could ride and she would fly in and join me at destination. Reasonable alternative is trailers don't work. But I do enjoy having her with me....

Carburator Kits:
videoarizona replied to Rob Swallows's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Rob, so far you are doing what needs to be done to get your scoot back on the road. Frustrating, yes....but will be worth it when you get her sorted out. Hang in there! -

I've been looking at toy haulers for past year. Just can't get my head around having a scoot in bedroom smelling up the place. Plus, my Yukon will haul up to 7700 pounds and I don't like the choices Within that range. The Admiral doesn't like it at all! So plan B. A trailer with a deck to haul bike on. Two problems there: 1. Steep ramp. 2. Deck can hold about 750 pounds. Great for adventure scoots, not touring bikes. So now on plan C. A smaller motorhome and a trailer for bike. Having rented lots of class A's in the past, I'm aware of the maintenance issues.. And don't like that either... But so far that's where I'm at. As far as trucks... Do not overload your truck. You are figuring things right, @djh3. Either plan on a better truck or a smaller toy hauler. Here are some new haulers for comparison..... Get some ideas then look for use ones... http://www.besttraveltrailers.org/toy-hauler-travel-trailers-top-8-brands/ This is another thought if ramp works for touring bikes... http://www.rvtrader.com/dealers/Dakota-RV-2896752/listing/2015-K-Z-MXT-CRC210KS-115194293

Need Rear Brake Rotor
videoarizona replied to GaryZ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Pinwall doesn't have one? Give them a call... They may not have one listed. Got one for my RSV... Good shape. -
Agreed. Think it would look good to only fill in and paint the small oval with the HD logo. Same color as your deflectors.

Well... I retired three years ago... And then helped my youngest through her last two years of college. Plus my wife of over 20 years and I are getting back together after a 4 year break... Life is good! Now we are working hard at selling her mom's properties, putting the sailboat back into shape for sailing.... and maintaining the house and scoots. Bottom line... Time and bux are in short supply. Plus Pat's back may well keep her from taking long trips with me... Sigh. I want very much to take off for a cross country ride... Been many years since I've done that on a scoot! Now it's just a matter of finding the bux and time and making the committment. Like Dion... No one around with time to make a trip with me. We shall see.... It's on my old fart bucket list!!

Did the Google thing. Nice picture of two old farts standing on the street admiring their scoots!! . If it wasn't so hot across the desert, I would join you and bring my own spoon...

Nah...I couldn't figure out any other way to get the picture to him! I felt like an idiot posting the pic....!

John... Not à problem. I posted the picture here so dragonrider could get a copy of it for the next auction. I couldn't add a pic using the PM to him. Since then, he gave me his email so post isn't necessary. Except to let all know this little remote will be in next auction for St. Jude's kids!

How can anyone be bored reading this thread....? Think I'll take the 89 out for a run. Need a Wal-Mart walkie anyway....not boring there.....!

(Question I have is whether or not it is legal for me to sit on the passenger seat listening to the standard equipment satellite radio (with 5 year free subscription to match the 5 year wheel to wheel warranty on the bike) with my laptop tied into the bike's built in high-speed hotspot surfing the Internet and reading my email?) Uh...no. Sorry to say you are going to have to pull over and turn off the scoot to use the WIFI Hot Spot feature. It's in the manual....pg 38.

That is so cool!! -
It's nice once in a while to learn something new.... In the past few days, besides installing a new ash dump door at the cabin, re-hanging a ceiling fan (previous owner did a lousy job hanging it), I also learned how to make apple sauce and apple butter....including how to can them! Apple sauce cooking..... Apple butter cooling in the sealed jars. left overs....lots of good peel there...but I can only eat so much...groan. $10 tool that made life easier.....still had to peel and de-core the tiny apples....but this was a great help. So...what have you learned new lately?
