  1. Looks great Daryl! I think I'll look into that location for me on the RSV. I was going to use the other side of same bolt but the light gets hit by the wind deflector above it. I'll have to fabricate a bracket first. But will do some test fittings next month when I get the bike back home! David
  2. Sand then fair the outside edges and you should be good to go for paint. Looks good!
  3. Repairing your fairing is easy. Multiple ways to do it. I've worked on mine and the repairs are stronger than the original. There is a ton of info in this site in older posts....search away and enjoy the learning. It's really not hard at all. Honest injun....grins.
  4. You need the passport for Mexico as well..... To be precise, you need nothing to go into Mexico....you need the passport to come back into the US. But yes, there are good dentists (I've heard from neighbors) right across the border in Nogales, just south of where I live. Other than that, I know nothing, nothing!
  5. Just to let everyone know.... The 3 generations did the skydive thing this Saturday. They all loved it. Everyone at the place came out and applauded when grandma landed. Great team there! Pictures next week sometime... Now back to your regularly scheduled teeth... https://www.12news.com/mobile/article/news/local/arizona/100-year-old-crosses-off-bucket-list-item-sky-dives-in-arizona/75-83a9bb93-5dd2-4eb4-98ef-8093f08d040a
  6. Surprise! Mine came today. Everybody should jump on these...the t-Shirt is really nice quality. Thanks!
  7. Well...it's been snowing steadily since 8am....we don't have much to show for it as it's 34 degrees....and snow isn't sticking. Boring!~ The orange tree was at 8am....the road pic was just at 1:15pm. Nice large flakes. We would have 4 to 5 inches by now if it was sticking...rats! Wonder where my snow chains are for the scoot?
  8. I hope I got all the water out of the lines. I have 4 drains and they were empty....so crossing fingers. Yep...starting to snow nicely now and sticking. Actually snowing in Tucson at this moment. My backyard is beginning to look like a typical New Hampshire white out! If the snow keeps up, this will be the second time I've been able to use my snow shovel in 5 years....and both of those times were this winter. Alas....temps going back up into the 70's next week....sigh...
  9. Mine's still out there in postal land. I'm in no hurry as I'm taking some time to relax from my hectic back and forth commuting to Phoenix. ....snooze on!
  10. We are experiencing a major storm coming through Arizona the next 2 days. I'm expecting 1.5 inches of rain. The mountains next to Tucson could get 3 feet of snow. The mountains across the valley from me should be covered in the white stuff nicely by Saturday morning. I may even get some snow if it gets cold enough. We've been around freezing a few nights this week already and expecting 26 Saturday morning. So...if the storm slows...I'll have snow!! My shovel is ready!
  11. Nope...can't recall that....but sounds like I should know it...cause it sounds like fun!
  12. @cowpuc, If you go with the dentures....regardless of partial or full...know that you NEED to WEAR them! If not, your gums and mouth will change and in no time, the dentures won't fit right. Your mouth changes anyway when teeth are not around for support....but if you take the dentures out cause they are not comfortable, that's when the problems of fit really show themselves! MY Mom-in-law can't stand them and she has had nothing but problems with them now for 3 years...multiple fittings...it doesn't matter. They just don't work for her cause she won't wear them all the time...She's not a happy camper when she eats. Hijack time: BTW, mom-in-law turned 100 yesterday. Her birthday present is she wants to skydive!! She said if she doesn't land quite right, it's OK! Great attitude. We have reservations at the internationally known Skydive Arizona in Eloy for this Saturday at 11 am. If it isn't raining, 3 generations will be jumping. Grandma, my wife and our daughter! Crossing fingies the plane makes it up there ok and the jumps go well! As for me...after 50 plus years of hanging out of airplanes, helicopters, sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon and over the edges and roofs of buildings to "get the shot" (film and video)...I now find myself scared silly of heights. Strange...but just climbing the ladder to the roof gives me the willies. So no...I'm not going with them.
  13. I keep forgetting about chat....I think the problem is the time zone. You guys are chatting after dinner and I'm still running around playing retired. I'll keep trying to remember to visit the room!
  14. Agreed! Well...in that case...come on down and look around here! I have room...hint...
  15. Scott, If you really want something cheap but needs some frame work from rust....I found this across the pond from you... https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/1J4FA49SXYP750568 Wondering with all the talent we have on the forum if you couldn't get some help with this. Would it be even worth looking into? Don't know....I'm an Arizona guy. The only rust we get on cars here are cars that come down here with rust already on them....
  16. Yep..I'm with Spence.....if you have a choice and can afford it, go with implants. Pay once and eat for rest of life. Second choice is partials.....but....there will be issues...daily.
  17. Do some research about 4 wheeling with it. A friend has a US version and says he wouldn't do serious 4 wheeling with it as he felt it was to tippy...Similar to the old Bronco 2. That said, my in laws had an older Bronco 2 and went all over Arizona and never once tipped over. I mean they climbed mountains with that thing! So who knows...that little Suzuki could be perfect for tooling off into the woods....CTFW, 4x4 style!
  18. Yea...we had an old 53 Chrysler that finally wouldn't pass inspection back in the late 50's in New Hampshire. I used to get a kick out of going somewhere with my dad and I could look down and watch the road go by. Big hole in floor. Of course, that car got it's start in ohio, then went to Alaska for 2 years then shipped to Guam for 2 years, then lastly to New Hampshire. Semi-auto trannie...shifted into gear then let foot off of gas for it to shift. I learned to drive in that car.... I would keep my eye out for ya Pucster, but anything 4x4 is gold down here. I've been looking at a used 2016 or 2017 GMC Sierra SLT 4x4 with trailer package and they are about $4k MORE EXPENSIVE THEN UP NORTH! I may have to do a road trip on scoot and tow the scoot back behind a new to me truck!
  19. Best I can do for now...sold it about 8 years ago.....sad day that was.... 1st pic in 1970 here in Arizona. 2nd pic was in Big Springs Texas...on extended leave from Turkey heading to Colorado... Drool on....I am...sigh... BTW, the Bugeye had 2 SU HS1 Mk1 carbs on it. My first experience at CV type carbs
  20. Ah man...I really don't like seeing these things...makes me mad. But so glad you are OK!!!!! Yea...these 1st gens are tuff.....except for that little water elbow! I've gotta grind off that lip on the engine guard...never did do that... guess I can do it this week!! Going to order one of those little camera setups too. That's so good to have to show the cage drivers fault! Thanks for the video!
  21. Guys, I know nothing about what you are both yapping on about...but do know this: My 1960 Bugeye Sprite had a 948cc motor and 40hp. The car came with an owners manual, a racing manual and a small manual that showed how to increase hp. The diagrams in the little manual were nothing more than measurements and plotted lines showing how to grind the intake manifold for smoother and better flow. That's how the British increased the hp on their tiny motors! Nothing else was changed...the CV carbs, the adjustable timing was left alone. So there ya go! And that's the extent of my knowledge.....
  22. I did the oil change to Quicksilver 20-50 synthetic on the RSV 3 weeks ago. New filter. It's a quieter ride now and real easy shifting. Took it up to Phoenix and she ran nice all the way at 80mph. Last weekend Mark on his HD Ultra and I on the RSV took off for a long run to the west coast of Arizona for a chili cook off. Rode out I-10 almost to Quartzite then headed northeast to Salome where the cook off was. I-10 was loaded with truckers and we had to keep up the pace around 75 to 80 despite a high head wind. Got 31mpg's on both the HD and the RSV. Lots of wind. The 2 lanes home up to Wickenburg then back to Phoenix were nice....Bike rode fine, engine was quieter than normal...so I think I'm going to like the Quicksilver. And yea...the clutch is still slipping a touch in 4th or 5th when I roll on hard. So just waiting for some time to order the kit. Think I'll replace everything. Wouldn't hurt and then I don't have to think about it for the rest of my riding life! Some pics of the cars there for the show and the chili booths...I forgot to get pics of the bikes sitting in the sun.... But it was cool out...low 50's during the day. We have had some cold fronts come through...one right after another. This week in Green Valley I will be in the 50's with below freezing temps at night. Expecting snow again by the end of the week....really? "Go to Arizona they said. No snow they said." So not much riding this past month.
  23. Geesh..and here I've been wondering what to do with my fly fishing rod and reel from the early 60's. Got an old fly making kit from back then (never used) and a tackle box full of "stuff". My uncle who got me into fishing big time died early and left me with no one to go with back in high school. Stuff has been carried around for 50 plus years... Sorry for the lousy pics but the phone camera used was on it's last legs from to many dropsies! No idea what this stuff is worth...if anything.... But nice to know there are some experts here that can help!
  24. The biggest issue I see with the helmet laws are the insurance companies and the lawyers. Some states (arizona is one of them) say if you are in an accident and you aren't wearing your noggin protection device, you are partly responsible for your injuries. The courts here have actually started making these decisions...actually the juries do. I was on one case 6 years ago...guy on a sport bike cruising to work and a company vehicle pulled right in front of him and he hit him dead on. The guy survived because he was wearing all his gear. The bad company lawyer tried to get the court to find the rider was responsible because he wasn't wearing his gear. We brought in a well known surgeon doc who spoke of the kid's injuries and said he would have been squashed and deader than roadkill on a Texas afternoon if he hadn't been wearing gear. Then we went on to document how the EMT's cut off his gear, etc. Needless to say we won the case. So yea, it's a personal choice...but know that it may cost you more than you might think as you end up paying a chunk of the medical bills too. Insurance companies can and do make decisions we don't like....but that is their business model. We don't have to like it. States can do the same.... I'm waiting for some state to start billing the illegals for their medical care....because that is getting out of hand and hospitals are getting tired of losing money since they have to treat them by law.... https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/parkland-memorial-hospital/ I don't have a problem for some of my tax dollars going to help out those in trouble. That includes people who get laid off from work or poor kids and moms who need help once in awhile....but this socialism thing is not for me....
