  1. Peroxide does kill the mold, but not the stains underneath. I like what Puc brought to the discussion...going to have to try that on some other strange stains I have! david
  2. In reading the label on the original Rain-X.....it says only use on plastics if manufacturer says it's ok. Clearview says it's ok...so I'll keep on using it... Wonder if they know about the new plastic rain-x??
  3. Brenner...thanks for post! Dion...agreed..hard to find someone to ride with... Sailor...you got it.... Nice reminders all.... thanks, david
  4. This does seem to be an issue with some HD groups. I've seen them do this in the left lane....cars passing on right. Law in this state is to move to right lane...
  5. Hmmm. Went to the site and didn't see the 2nd Gen listed. No RSV. Billmac...what pads did you get? Same on the RSTD as the RSV? Thanks, david
  6. I use Rain-X original on my Clearviews. No issues. In fact, time to get another bottle. Throw old bottle out....have a new Clearview to take care of! david
  7. ((We are only guessing at what is happening inside of the relays, since we have no info, that is why I recommended a test to be safe.)) Jeff...I did post what looks to be a basic schematic for the relay in your medical post....to give you something to think about during your recoup! BTW, pleased to see you are posting daily! david
  8. Clearview arrived. Pretty. Fits perfectly and looks great! BUT, missing one bolt in it's sealed hardware package. Left message...Sigh. Got phone call...late yesterday. I can use regular bolts...should fit just fine...and they do.
  9. Note: The CB takes precedence only when the CB signal overcomes the squelch. When CB is squelched, the radio still can be heard.
  10. I really think at this point, you need to cut the TCI open and see what's going on (if anything) within that unit. If it's clean and all looks good, it still could be failing. BUT, sure seems to me to be TCI related. Since the TCI is the computer to determine plug firing...it would make sense to at least see if it can be ruled out as a source of the problems. Thinking out loud, here....
  11. Early morning and late at night are the only times I can ride down here. This ole bod's AC isn't as efficient as it used to be. In 1969, I was riding my bike in Phoenix during one of the hottest summers ever. It was warm...but I rode a bike and drove my Austin Healey Bugeye...all summer long. My nickname today should be "Wimpy".
  12. Cleaned the connection on the lower left side. No change.
  13. Congrats!!

  15. Search for older posts. Tons of pictures and narratives on taking the fairing apart and what you'll find in there....plus the manuals are here as well... I have some pics here somewhere of the HD pipes on mine. PO did a nice job mounting them...
  16. My speedo is hitchy too....don't know what the problem is...yet. Download the manual from this site unless you have one..info in there on radio and audio tuning. Easy once you wrap your head around the controls... The engine may feel anemic compared to the Max...but don't forget...it's basically the same engine and loves to rev...but a much heavier scoot. HD stock pipes give a nice low rumble without being to loud. Keep the backrest...get the risers....you'll be thankful you did. Glad to hear the rest went well! Welcome to the group!
  17. Sylvania Silverstar Ultra
  18. Jeff, When you are feeling up to it.....google images...Denso FB257H One of the images shows the schematic of the flasher... Recuperating homework for ya! david PS Welcome back!!
  19. Welcome, BB...just take your time and go slow. Give yourself time to learn the ride....only then will you really enjoy it!
  20. Yikes! That sux big time....sigh. Just glad no one hurt...
  21. Waiting is the hardest part....
  22. Hey...I can do that! Gotta practice it to show my kidlet this weekend!! Wheee... (shake, shake, shake those lobes...)
  23. I like the Run/Stop/Go couple. They are fun to watch. Enjoyed watching their Alaska/Canada/Yukon trip. I like the way they talk about gas stops/food stops, rest areas....and road conditions. Not only do I get to vacation with them, I get to learn more about the area in case I decide to make the same trip...
  24. CJ, Puc and Big Lenny are right on...we are in Heat mode right now...so any further south of Sedona/Prescott/Payson area is a bit much. This is our break time from riding during the day at 110 degrees is a bit much...even with proper gear on. I live 200 miles south of that below Tucson. I only ride in early am or late night to avoid the heat . Come October...it's full time riding for us until June again. If I can meet you, I will do that. Never got to meet Puc and Tip last year with commitments and heat. But if you do come down 89A...go down to Cottonwood...skip over 260 East (Camp Verde) then up to the Mogollon Rim (Mug-ee-own) then come down 87 to Pine, Strawberry and Payson. Then back East further on 260 (beware speed trap at bottom of hill in Star Valley..just East of Payson) back up onto the Rim...and from there you can head east to Show Low...then on 60 East to New Mexico, visit Pie Town..get a t-shirt and eat some pie... the antenna array...etc...and then I-25 north to Santa Fe, 84 north to Pagosa Springs on NE to 160 to 285 and you've just done a very nice loop! From there...Home whatever way you wish. Call me on my cell when you know your time frame in AZ and maybe I can meet you in Payson area.... david
