1. but gently. Torque is low maybe 14lbs??? (don't trust my memory..look it up.)
2. I find fatigue to be an interesting topic. There are days when 2 to 3 hours is enough as the eyes are tired, I'm zoning out and not able to quickly focus. This is usually caused by wind and truck turbulence....in heavy traffic at high speed. Other days I can do 14 hours and be tired, but still alert. Hope @leroy can find the article...want to read...
3. Really does sound like a carb problem. Have you checked the diaphrams to see if they are torn? Have you checked the slides to see if they all move at the same time with blips of throttle? If no, then check out these two areas first. Pull the air cleaner off (is filter clean?) and watch the carb slides with the motor running. Yea, she will run poorly with air cleaner off, but the idea here is to make sure all four slides are working somewhat together. If one is sticking, spray some carb cleaner on the slide and move it with finger to distribute. Make sure all four move freely then run bike again to check. When finished with that, pull all four diaphrams and look very carefully for pinhole leaks. You can repair them with a thin coat of sealant (yamabond#4). Otherwise replace them. If these are good...then add some seafoam to tank in heavier mixture, run for a few minutes then shut down and let her rest for a day or so. Try again and see if there's a difference. If no, then pull plugs and replace with new. Change out gas in tank for fresh. If you haven't replaced the plug wires and caps for a long time, now is the time. You can order originals off of EBay that are setup for proper 5K ohm resistance. If this doesn't solve problem...then you need to pull carbs yourself and seriously clean them. You can do it and there is plenty of info and pics on this site as well as help available just for asking. There are other possibilities but these are a good place to start. You should always have a "service baseline" with which to reference when troubleshooting. At least you get these things done and you know they are good and you can move on. Next time you know what you've done and can usually skip those steps saving time. Good luck and let's see what I forgot as others chime in....keep us posted.
4. None on 89 VR with 46K miles None on 05 RSV with 56K miles Both still working fine with no leaks (knock on wood)
5. Nice ride this weekend on 89 VR. Went to Hogs in Heat at the Rock Springs Cafe on Saturday night. No pics as it was to dark to see anything.....so to speak. But the night was nice for riding and the food was good. Pie was excellent. Lots of bikes and owners enjoying the patio.... Old ad: http://rocksprings.cafe/event/hogs-n-heat/ But to prove I was in the area, Here's a pic of the scoot alongside the yacht in Phoenix at Pat's house...
6. here ya go...I did the search for ya... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?1828-Download-the-Owners-and-Service-Manuals
7. Both owners manuals and shop manuals are available for download for free on this web site. Search in tech area...
8. Nope but sure looks interesting. Wonder if the trim ring would fit our RSV's?
9. Lugnut... You don't need to split fairing to replace headlight bulb. Turn bars to one side, reach in and make the change. If you have fat hands, it's not easy. I think I went in from left side with bars to right. Been a year but think that is right.
10. I tried to set cruise at 85 then increment up. She kicked out just below 90. So short answer, no.
11. I need to change front tire to a 130... I'm still on stock, but Barons risers on stock bars, and lowered front end worked wonders for me. 5'10", 220 pounds. Tilted bars up a bit as well. Very happy with changes so far. New tire will be all that's left to make my 05 RSV be a most excellent tourer.
12. Now that is a great idea!!
13. Nah...I have faith in your prognostic abilities. Go forth with plans, young man...all will be well! (What?)
14. Congrats! Sounds like fun!
15. Prayers Up!
16. Bike hauler. These guys are great! Brought my 1st gen in from Wisconsin.
17. Only answer I can help with...is book says DOT4 for RSV's.
18. @Condor, "I still can't figure out how a shop can warp a rotor by just changing a tire??" That's an easy one. The 2nd Gen rotors are thin...about half the thickness (it seems) of a 1st Gen. That said, just dropping or resting the wheel on the rotor could and has bent the sucker a few thousands more than necessary. That's why so many pics of cycle wheels with rotors on are sitting on 2x4's or such. Any rotor can be damaged by weight pressed on it's side. They are very strong but not made to take sideways abuse of a heavy wheel and tire. How my rotor got bent I can't say but I do know I carried the tire sitting on it's 4x4's to the shop and brought it home the same way. I never even leaned it against anything. So somehow they did stress the rotor enough to warp it. Maybe putting it on the machine? Maybe it rolled away and dropped. Who knows? Was not a comfortable feeling on my new tire test ride to ease on the front brakes and feel the shutter of the warp. More info: http://www.clarity.net/adam/tire-changing-doc.html Pinwall to the rescue!
19. I have to agree. It would take so long you would probably die of old age before you got the warp out. Either turn it or get a used one. Pinwall is good for this....finding a used rotor. The last time I put new front tire on the RSV (with it's thin rotors) the dealer warped one of the front rotors. My bad for not taking them off prior to. Cost me under $50 for a used one with less miles than mine had on it. Was fine.
20. I used to hang out of helicopters, over building roofs and such...filming. No more. Just the thought of standing on a Heli's skids and shooting an air action scene scares the poop out of me. I won't even get on my roof now without someone around to call 911 if I fall. Interesting that we realize how precious life is the older we get...
21. This is a neat clip of a younger Glen Campbell playing the William Tell Overture (with the back-up of a symphony orchestra) and dedicating it to Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. Hope you enjoy the excellent guitar playing, and the sounds of the orchestra as they take you back to those days of yesteryear. Another talent lost to Altzheimers. https://www.youtube.com/embed/GUBhE00h9U0?feature=player_detailpage
22. Yep. I was down for a full week and took another 2 weeks to get rid of cough. Hope you feel better, Dan!
23. You would be very lucky!
24. Though I'm retired from the biz, I do try and at least keep up with the newer tech coming each year.

This is a Drone Video, one step further than Drone Photo. And it is in 4K UHD. Note the 3D effect. I hope you Enjoy this video. Very clear and interesting views. One would never have seen these on a ground tour. https://player.vimeo.com/video/107995891 Enjoy, david
