Hey Jim, do you have the 8.5" to 13.5" or the bigger one 10.5" to 16.5"? Want the smaller one but also want the wife to be comfy.

A little over 23k on 2013 (14 on the c50 and 9 on the venture) About 15k commuting to work. The wife just started riding with me and she loves it so I expect to be closer to 30k this year.

And this is a clear example of how great of an investment those $12 are! Just saved me a bunch more on replacing every bolt in there!!!

Steve, Thanks for the heads up. I am still trying to decide if the peacemakers are worth the extra . My second option is actually the bubs. I have seen/hear those and I like them. I know they have some cosmetic defects (some flaking on the tips is quite common I believe) but I'm not too concerned about that. Nothing some time and a paint can can't fix! I am waiting to receive a year-end bonus which will help pay for the pipes, but you know how that works, I don't know exactly when that check will come. Once I get it I'll reach out to you and if they are still available I will most likely snatch them out of your hands :). That is an excellent price and while the volume control is a handy thing to have, the list of toys I want (NEED ) is fairly extensive so I could put the extra money towards an intercom or new shield for instance. Thank you

Mike G, That is great advice. Specially comment about not getting rid of the stock mufflers. I had already thought about it. My wife is starting to ride with me. We have done couple 100 mls rides over the last few weeks and she is loving it so we will continue increasing the millage and doing some of those longer rides. It is really cool to be able to share my passion for riding with her. Anyway, back to the mufflers, having the stock ones just in case is a great advice. Thanks!!

Thanks much Ablummy. I had not seen that one!!

Hey Ron, I'm uncertain of what you are asking here. Are you asking me why I am considering spending double the money on a exhaust so I can be considerate to those around me and also enjoy the volume I like when I deem appropriate? Or are you asking me why it is that I enjoy loud pipes? If the latter, I'm gonna ask the rest of fellow riders here who have baron, bub, cobra, V&H and so forth to chime in.

I am really considering getting the Peacemakers exhaust. I know the volume of the pipes is a matter of preference. I have not seen/hear them in person and is hard for me to tell based on the videos I have seen how loud they are on the open position. I know a few members have them or might have seen them in person... can anyone tell me how they compare to other pipes? I love the sound of the Monster Ovals but I'm a little lazy about spending that kind of mula and then having to rig it to fit the venture. Plus, I do like the option of being able to quiet them down in the morning while the bike warms up w/out waking up the neighbors. I use to have a set of V&H cruzers on my previous bike and I liked them. But then again, with the FI I could crank and go. So can anyone shed some light on how loud the loud setting would be?

I lost the key of the one I had on my jeep once. It was a great excuse to go to harbor freight and by a cheap reciprocating saw, I think it was around $20, $25. If you have enough room to fit the blade you will be good to go. Took less than a min to go through it. Good luck.

I'm with you Bumble bee. I really enjoy this temperature. I have noticed thought since the Venture is new to me (almost a month) that the temperatures are different than they used to be in my old volusia while riding. I commute 32 mls into DC and today I noticed that hands stay warmer, chest and legs too (I guess all related to better wind protection even though I had a fairing on the vol too), but knees, higher portion of back and back of the neck get significantly colder!! I'm gonna have to come up with a solution for those as I refuse to pull out the heated gear yet.

You bring up a great point. My helmet choice varies depending on the distance and the temperature. For long distance and/or winter riding I have a Shark evoline. It is heavy as a rock so I also have a Bell 500 and a skid lid shorty for hot days. The one that looks best is the edset g3 but was not able to find the one for the venture on the site. I didn't think there would be differences based on the bike. I am on the cheapo side so not sure I'll go with it since I would have to get two.

IronMike. Help the new guy here. I have used sea foam to clean the fuel system. Never used it on teh oil. Does it make a difference? Also 12 oz sounds like a lot!! When I have used it on fuel I only added one Oz per gallon. And you do this each time you change you oil? just add it to the old oil (6 oz) , run it for a while and replace?

ok ok, you convinced me!!! Rick I sent you a PM

Thank you all for your comments. The oil didn't do it. Drained her well, changed filter... nothing. Opened her up and nothing looks bluish so that is good news. Budget is a little tight so decided to go with the heavy duty clutch kit from PCW. I'm sure... well correction, I know, I will end up replacing it with the Barnett springs system but for now that will remain on the "future mods" list. Now I just need to get her back on the road. Thank you again, I'll keep you posted.

Trial Member issue... CORRECTED!! I had heard about Rick... All reviews are great and his turn around is fantastic. That said, I would still have no seat for at least one week. The bike is my daily commuter and with a 35 mls each way I am really not ready to pay the gas for the 15 mpg silverado. If I had a second seat I wouldn't think it twice BUT... I don't so I would probably end up making it weekend project. Clawed, I have the same complaint from the missus so I'm glad to hear that fixes it. Also since she is vertically challenged, her feet don't reach the boards so I have to find a solution for that too. Did any of you take any pics of it? specially the strings Dacheedah was referring too?

I have been using the search but was not able to get what I was looking for. Has anyone taken the seat apart and modified it themselves? I have done two seats for other bikes in the past, kind of making room for the tail bone and removing some of the foam to lower the riding position, but since so far this forum has answered any question I might have had, and I would really hate to messed this up, I thought it would be a good idea to get some feedback from some of you who might have attempted to do so.

My old C50 was wet clutch too but I didn’t' even thing about the oil! Duh! I will start there. Unfortunately I don't know how long it might have been doing this so if the oil doesn't fix it I'll look for Skydoc_17 and get one of his kits. I'm all about supporting forum members. Regarding the oil, and not that I want to awaken the beast, I'm 100% in agreement with you. The c50 had 80K miles which for a 800cc is not bad at all and never had an issue with her, IMHO, due to good oil and timelly changes.

I am new to Ventures as I got my 2007 two days ago. I believe my clutch is slipping but I'm not 100% certain so I thought I would ask. BTW she has 18K miles When accelerating, the bike responds very well but if I twist the throttle a little harder the bike revs up high w no pulling and when I release the throttle a little it suddenly picks up again. It happens on every gear. It is like if I accelerate hard the clutch engages?? If it is in fact the clutch slipping... what do you recommend I do? Mind you, the budget is tight so I have to find the least expensive solution Thank you!

Good day. I am new to the forum so I appologize if this is not the correct place for this question. Yesterday I became a happy new owner of a 2007 venture. Traded in my reliable C50 and so far while I miss her, I could not be happier. With a new bike comes the never ending list of new toys to add to it. I am looking into getting the wired head set to use with the cb radio and communicate to the passenger. Any recommendation? Thank you!
