  2. Isnt EVERYDAY a National ice cream day for Venture riders?
  3. I'll be there
  4. I am. Bringing toyhauler like last 2 years. Made reservations months ago but dont know site number. looking forward to it again. Ed
  5. I have hauled my venture in my toyhauler for years. The Harbor freight wheel chock is bolted to the floor and when I arrive at destination, I unbolt it and all that is left are the well nuts that I put in the floor. As far as the ramp, two 2x4s cut to about 5 or 6 feet are put down where the ramp meets the ground. That way I can "walk" the bike up or down the ramp and my feet still touch. The boards store just about anyplace when traveling. Works great.
  6. I ride mine into the hauler. I use 2 short 2 x 4s (one on each side) to bridge the gap where the ramp meets the ground and my feet wont touch. With the 2 x 4s there, I just (ride) walk the bike nice and easy and I can control it as fast or slow as I want. Works for me getting it out of the hauler also, no need for 2nd person as your feet are always in contact now.
  7. I had a 2007 Stratoliner (traded it for Venture) and went darkside with NO problems at all. Strat handled as well as mc tire. There was a forum or webpage for darksiders that offered a lot of information on it. Cant remember where the info was.
  8. I found this on an earlier post- look at the difference - there are newer filters out there that are convex(right) and not concave(left one) so the filters bottoms out before the seal contacts correctly. You have to watch out for this. Hope this helps
  9. I owned a 2007 Stratoliner before and loved it but wanted the Venture features so I traded it for the Venture . I rode my from NY to California and back towing a trailer and it was great except for 2 things. Small fuel tank and like said above, wanted a 6th gear. But overall , it was a great bike.
  10. Happy Birthday Evan. Have a wonderful day.

Was near start of Dragon near Marysville,TN so 100%. Got dark enough to turn street lights on. Picture doesn't show the real darkness it was.
  12. Make sure the bolt is not binding on the shock itself. Can you wiggle or move the shock back and forth at all to feel it is free from the bolt?
  13. We got back home around 5pm. Had a great time and thanks to the "Crew" that put this all together. It is much appreciated by everyone. Very enjoyable weekend. Traffic was decent most of the trip home and only 10 minutes thru Customs. (I told them I knew Carl and they said to get out of there) . Thanks again. EtRider
  14. Condolences . Thoughts and prayers for you and Nancy.
  15. Check out Skydoc on this forum under classifieds "member vendor" area.
  16. Made my camping reservation last week. Will be up in the area all week but only at host camp during the rally.
  17. Make sure the volume is turned up on both the Ipod and the bikes system. And I assume you have already made sure the Ipod is Playing.
  18. Happy Birthday ! Many more miles to go.. have a wonderful day.
  19. "Gimme back the old days when they counted your change back to you starting with the lowest denomination" Most of them cant count unless they look at the register to tell them what it is...
  20. This seems to me a great idea that covers all three areas of 1st responders- as some of us are retired from law enforcement agencies and might belong to one of the other 2.
  21. Well, 4pm and we just got back home from the Ottawa part of our "northern" trip. We had a wonderful time at the rally and big THANKS to the Hosts for a wonderful time. Looking forward to next year. Ed and Connie Etrider
  22. Washed the Venture yesterday and loaded it in the toy hauler getting ready to head North to Ontario... And then off to Ottawa afterwards. Looking forward to great time.
  23. Only the back half...
  24. Even though the intercom is always on, there is a harness which you can "plug and Play" which converts it to push to talk so that you don't get the feedback from road noise if you have it too loud. Is there a site to look up this harness for information? Sounds like something I would like to look into.
