Not necessarily a bad thing!!

Sorry to bust your bubble but that's going to be a requirement on all new vehicles soon. Ford just got it out first. What you loose in starter life you more than make up in brake life, u-joint stress, transmission heat, (no motor torque trying to move car). having driven a car with that technology you don't notice it at all. There no discernible lag when stepping on the gas, its not like starting that 56 buick,

So i can get a battery with 18 amp hours and 310 CCA or 20 AH and 270 cold cranking amps. They're only about $5.00 difference in prices both are sealed AGM type batteries. I'm leaning to the 20 AH for the larger reserve, its not a high compression bike so I don't think that the extra CCA would even be noticed, and it the cheaper of the two! Am i thinking right or do i need more coffee?

Let me say from experience, add a rack and hang on weights at the back if its doing FORK LIFT duties would be highly recommended. The hydraulics on those things will pick up a house, but when you get that house 5 ft up in the air and hit reverse the center of gravity lets you know real quick! If it wasn't for a death grip on the steering wheel, old Smitty might have made it into orbit, the from came down and the back went up about 8 ft in a blink! Funniest thing you'd ever see:rotfl:

when I got my 07 RSV from the PO it still had about 5 months of warranty left, he told me the battery wasn't replaced yet. The was in 2012. It was a little cold this am and the bike didn't catch on the first try to start, i was low on gas, and didn't realize it at first. I hit the start again and feathered the throttle and the mixture knob and it didn't catch again. I flipped to reserve and didn't have enough juice left to turn it over a third time. So i'm guessing its done. It should have a bit more reserve than three starts? I'll charge it up tonite when i get home and baby it till the weekend i guess, then off to wallyfworld for a battery or maybe oreilly.

I believe you are referring to the C.A.R.B. sticker. I' don't know if that was in effect in 84 or not. Perhaps someone else knows for sure. Remember all state workers are not neccessarily up to date on when and where. But i found this online He gave me the number of the Air Resources Board, which is 1-800-242-4450 and moved on to the next verification. Wow. So I pull out of the verification line, called up the ARB (not sure why they dropped the "C"), and surprisingly they answered the phone on the first ring, real person, and pretty nice. She kind of said the same thing ... if no CA emissions label then the motorcycle needs to have over 7500 and meet Federal emissions. She wasn't so sure about if all 49 state bikes had the Federal label or not.

I think its a waste of money at this point in time. Notoriously inaccurate. read this article https://www.thedoctorstv.com/articles/3863-the-triplets-put-ancestry-kits-to-the-test do a google search for twins and triplets taking DNA test its amazing, even in those case where the testing company knew ahead of time they had twins the results showed otherwise. It also throws a lot of doubt on DNA testing in general for legal purposes. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2016/06/a-reasonable-doubt/480747/ I have no doubt that the process may improve in the future. For medical purpose testing for certain marker genes for the most effective therapy does enhance survivability of a lot of conditions, but those test are done under way different conditions. Absolutely sterile environments for the taking of the sample, multiple samples taken the test in run 20 or more times and cost upwards of $40K to the insurer! not $99.00 at "who's your daddy" or "am i royal princess" . com or other sites.

Your'e gonna here a lot of stuff based on personal preferences. Chevy guys don't want to hear FORD, Ford guys laff at DODGE, Dodge guys don't believe anyone else makes "REAL" trucks. The fact is all the manufactures including Toyota and Nissan make a good truck. Even Subaru and Honda are good vehicles in the full size market (very rare) but out there. Your best bet is to figure your need. How often do you tow, do you need a crew cab (kids dogs) do you need or want a 8 ft bed versus a 6 ft bed. After that its just plugging in the variables till you have a truck from each MFG, then take the time to look at each one on a dealer lot. I have a Friend who doesn't like the ford because the mirrors are too low on the door. Another guy doesn't like the Chevy because he sits too upright! So find what fits your need then what fits your body then what fits your pocket book. your better off spending an extra $5K for a truck you like, rather than hating for the next three years the truck you saved $5K on. Here at work I have at my disposal Chevy Ford and Nissan. For hauling loads around town the Nissan doesn't even notice the load, but for long trips Say Here to Orlando and back I prefer the Ford, My brother prefers the Colorado on the same runs for the same reason but he's two inches shorter and probably 70 pounds lighter. So it really comes down to to what fits you. Checking the KKB and Edmunds reports you'll find the same general incident of repair on all the major MFGs. Toyota probably has the best record for fixing stuff with out arguments. Typical american dealers argue on general principal, but will fix if you push back and threaten to call the district number you're given when you buy. The horror stories about dealers saying things like "oh well if it happens at 80MPH we're not responsible" " or this mfg is ignoring X problem, or every brand X with Y motor and trans is junk ther're alway in the shop are just isolated incidents from disgruntled folks with buyers remorse.

A wew fridge will probably save you $80.00 to 120 a year on electric. The new fridge also got more room inside with the same foot print. I'd suggest freezer on the bottom this time around I've had top side by side and bottom mount. By far the bottom is most convenient. Plus i get the bonus of occasionally catching her bending over to grab a bag of veggies

This is the stuff I use! should I add wax over this when i'm done washing? MJ works amazing as a rinseless and waterless wash on autos too! This awesome polymer concoction is the right choice for all cleaning, shining, and protecting your motorcycle. It was specifically designed for motorcycle use on all surfaces including paint and chrome. Never wax again! This one product is all you will ever need to make your motorcycle look its absolute best at all times! Directions: Use in or out of the sun. Spray on surface, wipe with a clean microfiber towel, and you're done! If you want to wash your motorcycle more thoroughly, put 1 gallon of water in a bucket and add 2 oz of Magnum to the water. Place 3- 4 microfiber towels in the bucket and proceed to execute the Garry Dean Wash Method (Do a Google search for how to videos). Now stand back and enjoy the shine! Please visit DetailJuice.com for how to videos. https://www.detailjuice.com/product-category/motorcycle/

My bike doesn't live inside, my bike doesn't hide from the rain. I do have a car port and wash it almost weekly with Mike's miracle motor cycle juice. However, i'm starting to collect some "ORANGE" discoloration in the nooks and crannies of some of the pieces. US made flag mount and pole, US made Wide band camps for the mufflers, Barons swicth block and housing. and the Chinese luggage rack knock off is starting to discolor on the welds after 4 years on the bike!, the worst is probably the antenna bases from Mama Yama. I have some naval jelly, but i'm willing to try other products if somebody has a GEE WHIZER let me know! I plan on going over the area after de rusting, with some testers silver paint and a fine brush to seal them back up. Also open to suggestion on this.

i've ridden plugged rear tires several times! Properly applied they are okay. Its always been on a rear tire. If a plug lets go its just like any other leak. the entire circumference doesn't go just one spot and you get a slow leak like picking up a nail usually enough warning to get over and stop. Now my brother had the new valve stem on his HD snap off, he barely had time to get stopped from 70MPH on the interstate. Tire plugs are not illegal in NY state, only in certain circumstance i.e closeness to side wall and less than certain tread depth remaining, which applies to all types of repair. The law also state that a "proper repair" is a combination of interior patch and a plug. It is only illegal to sell a tire as "new" that has been repaired with a plug.

Just a vicious rumor, there is never anything wrong with this site. Unless its been hacked by Russian motorcycle dealers!

WHAT HE SAID! Go with the digital antenna $40 bucks on AMAZON that way you get "LOCAL" broadcast not the New York or Chicago based network feeds.
-
Another thing to remember is that any device will not get you "PREMIUM" channels. Legally! There are devices like android boxes Firestick and others which Understand can be hacked and side loaded with "SKINS" that will allow downloading of copyrighted material. However, These sites get shut down on an almost weekly basis, so you will be reprograming your device often. Also the FCC has allowed case to go forward against people who only recieve the pirated material. An amplified HD antenna can be had on Amazon for under $100.00 which will pull in signals when properly aimed from as far at 100 miles away, you will get everything that comes off a tower. I have 6 towers in line of site 22 miles away. each tower throws off over a dozen channels, so i get things that SPECTRUM doesn't offer as well as what they do offer. I'm not a sports fan, but a friend who is, and has a similar set up, gets almost all the games, even those locally blacked out. EXCEPT HBO Going with an HD antenna and a good streaming service (AMAZON PRIME) will give you all the TV you'll every need

Leaving HD need some help.
baylensman replied to purecountry13b's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Echoing what others have said. Not HD bashing, all modern bikes are fairly reliable and ALL have their quirks. Maintenance is likely to be the biggest difference, Although the HD has gotten better. Riding style a little different due to the power band and "FEEL" of the bike, but that should go away after 1 few hundred miles. If you want to stay with an HD I see a few dropping in price cause of the winter. Can you afford to buy cheap now and see your other bike high when the weather warms up? That's what I'm waiting for a spring thaw to bring the bikers and tube tops back out!! -
I scrapped my last windshield I thought in 1991. I left the NorthEast and header to Florida. I'm on the southwest coast, Guess what I had to scrape a dang windshield twice since I've been here!

twas the night before newyears and all through the land not a bike was moving they were all up onthe stand. The snow had come all frozen and deep. Made all of us two wheelers cry and weep. Determined to ride out the fluffy white tide. I began to plan my next spring ride. So i sat and hammered those little keys and dreamnt about the coming spring breeze. While online i dropped by this site to see who was about onthis cold winters night. Friends i had made over the years exchanged wishes for happy new years. Barry and doc and quite a few others. Even a few that claimed to be brothers! One voice was missing it just couldn’t be cowpuc was silent where was he? While we all listened for a word soon a low rumble was to be heard out on the snow so even and brite we all beheld a wondours sight. A bright red 1st gen with the head of a deer with a snow mobile track sticking out of the rear. What that my eyes did preceive cow puc was riding this newyears eve

I was thinking V8 but, i decided to go with the six for a few reasons. Reliability is one. the V6 doesn't break as many parts as the V8 when its romped on. I haven't changed that much I will use all the available horsepower! I currently have a 4.6 295 HP lincoln I want to get away from that also. I've heard the plug stories, and I know a few tricks from friends in the business that's not a deal breaker if I find v8 at the right price. which is the third reason a similar milage V8 is usually $3k more than the six.
