  1. Don't know for sure, but my old 96 would bounce back and forth from high 20"s to high 30"s depending on riding style. When I hit the interstate for a weekend trip the low 40"s was possible. I drove it around town almost every day so stop and go really affected the mileage. Try Seafoam, get the floats adjusted and check the airfilter
  2. So i posted last week about getting pulled over for having "BLUE" leds on the bike. Well i changed them all this week. put on "GREEN" leds. I thought they'd be ugly but I kinda like them,
  3. I want one of everything. I can pay pal for what's up now and keep me on the list for the rest. I really like the saddle bag fillers
  4. I want them all!!!!! what's the price for the lot. More shinny is more BETTER!!!!
  5. Its funny really, I've been a forum/chat room junky since my first computer (Tandy ds-3) on Delphi, then my first p.c. with windows 3.1, so a long time. Every time since 3.1 that windows, has upgraded I've seen a version of this discussion. Me i'll stay with windows. Roll with the inevitable, growing pains, and enjoy each update, that makes the system better. Rumor has, it that Mr Gates returned, to the corp office to take a hand in his company again. After seven hours and three different techs not being able to get his office computer to update properly he called a meeting of, top level management and said bluntly, fix this. So I think things will improve
  6. Yes the deputy was young and I believe he had an Explorer ride along that night. At least a late teenaged guy got, out of the car and stood at the hood and watched the process. The ticket was a warning so no monetary hit this time. I am referring to hidden led pods under the various bits and pieces. I have one under the triple tree that illuminates the forks, one on the front of the airbox that lights the floor boards one under the tank the lights the motor, one under the rear floor board lights the pipe, one under the rear bag illuminates wheel and tire one on the trunk that lights up the top of the bag. None of these pods is visible or set as to shine anywhere but directly on the bike. If I used pure white lights they'd still have a blue tint as most reflect, off some body work. Well anyway I ordered 16 more pods, this time in green. I hadn't soldered and shrink wrapped the others yet, wasn't sure of, the positioning, so the change will be easy.
  7. So raining cats and dogs, coming home from work. I hit the L.E.D. switch so I was a bit more visible. I turned up a side street and heeded home the back way. The rain tapered off I got within a half mile, of the condone I see the lights behind me. I got pulled over because the BLUE on my L.E.DS IS A RESERVED COLOR! Evidently blue and red lights are only allowed on police cars in FL
  8. The make a stellar product welcome back
  9. So I bought a Roger sr40. Waited the three days took the course finally got to the range. Only ran two, clips or 28 rounds(spring is still, stiff didn't want to force 15 in). Well the piece fired perfectly. Man it throws the brass a ways. Out of the box it seem to ride a little high and to the left for my grip. Didn't want to adjust anything just yet. Will go thru some more rounds latter this week. Will get my glasses adjusted to fit a little better and some ear protection that doesn't move my glasses around then we'll see
  10. I'm so glad its not just me! Prius drivers as a group are the worst..... they drive as if common sense and courtesy don't apply. They tend to maintain a speed and lane position regardless of road, or, traffic conditions. In parking lots (like the mall) the take up an entire lane waiting for a space and damn the 20 people trying to get by. Lane changes without signals, and they don't adjust sped for the change 45mphi in left right or center lanes
  11. Had both on multiple bikes. If you only have one get a tall. I recommend the F4 as it really sheds moisture. If you can spring the extra buck$ go with tinted and vented then its great all around
  12. Well I bought one. Roger SR40. Class Monday night. Pick it up Friday morning. Damn waiting period. Buying a gun is different now than 30 years ago!
  13. Watched the video several times. No mater what I do I can't download it and blow it up or slow it down frame by frame, some weird encoding. Look carefully no damage evident on cars crinkled fender broken glass nothing. Detailed models? Even look at the floor pieces and lack of dust cloud. Just thinking here not saying it is or isn't
  14. So I ordered my tire and scheduled install. Gonna have the links put on also. Here I sit in sunny fl enjoying the mid 70's. My damn tire is on a UPS truck in Atlanta!!!!! So now I have to wait till next week for a day off
  15. Well the kids are gone, thinking of rearming. I have my Mossberg Police issue 12 gauge. Been thinking of augmenting with a hand gun. Had wheel guns in the past, been thinking an auto would be nice. Want something inexpensive (relatively) reliable and cheap enough to operate that I can go to the range every once in a while with out breaking the bank and still be a back up home defense weapon so I think a 32 or 380 are too small so 9mm and up. I've got BIG hands. My last hand gun was a Ruger Super Black Hawk in 44 mag with a 7" barrel 4x scope and jay Scott custom oversized grips, I fired this one handed most of the time and could put all five in the black. Of course now I can't see as well (damn glasses) and don't have the upper body either(damn desk job) so something a little lighter but able to accomidate my hands?
  16. Well I've put enough miles on the bike now. This week getting new rubber on the rear. Getting the E3 as recommended here. Also getting mark to throw on the leveling links. While the back end is apart what else need to be checked out with 11K mile bike? My guy was glad to hear from me as the shop has been dead most of the month, so he's calling his friend at dealership to see if there are any TSB'S to check out.
  17. To me it look like an Airdrive motor. Used in areas where sparks can't be present a stream of compress air drives against the center and a belt rides against the two outer sheave areas.
  18. So I installed the shield last week it went smooth (see other post). Been riding with it for a week. No passenger yet weather is iffy but I ride every day regardless, I love the tint, just enough to cut the glare without making it too dark. The bubble of calm is hard to judge alone, but the tails of my do-rag don't whip around at any speed (have not broke 100 mph this week). I don't know how they treat the surface but it just sheds water, rain and fog dew just slide off. The vent is great and doesn't whistle like my last one. All in all I'm impressed, so I think I sell the vented clear shorty I now have.
  19. went with the biggest one they had in tint with the vent. Rode in a little rain today love it
  20. watched a local "live" report about a year ago. the outside reporter was in rain coat wind blowing rain slashing down, yakking about the major storm coming ashore 1/2 mile from my house. went outside to deep purple sky calm winds and a few wispy clouds. got in my car drove to the hotel parking lot no news van.....hmm go home and a half hour later there's an update from the same reporter still there with the worsening conditions! News channel got angry phone call from me and a nasty letter, don't think it changed anything. Most live shots are green screens now anyhow my great aunt Bea always said the only people to predict weather herein Florida are Damn fools or Damn Yankees
  21. So i'm off today. Decide to tackle new windshield. 8:05 reread the "split the fairing" thread. walk out to bike look it over. go back in get a 3mm flex hex wrench. pop two screws in fairing. pry yes pry the chrome strip up and back with a plastic fid. six more 3 mm screws, slide the old screen up and back. go back inside open F4 box unwrap new screen, take it outside slide into place 5 screws in, go back inside get Dremel open up last hole the width of the screw. Stop let the cable guy in to swap out modem. back out side last screw in . slide the chrome down the screen tap tap its in last two screws. take tools in put them away pick up trash make coffee. log in here elapsed time 55 minutes..
  22. well order the F-4 today. Biggest deciding factor is ability to use original rain-x and clean with standard towel and windex.
  23. no its almost dead center of front head a little more to the left than actual center, turns out he poked a screw driver thru the new one getting the clamp seated so he had do do it all again, That'll learn the young in
  24. Hanger Queen The new shelf in the Garage
  25. windshield question I see both the clear view and the F4 highly recommended on this site. anyone have experience with both? Prices similar claims similar. F-4 claims a bit wider than stock to help with buffeting. Also F-4 comes up to 2" taller than stock Clearview comes 1" taller and wider but with a curve at the top to increase the "bubble" of quiet? The PO kept the bike very nice and clean but claimed to be 6' 4" so he had longer bars and a shorter windsheild? Right now when i sit up straight I'm looking over the top of the windshield with ease. If we get a sudden florida sun shower I have to hunch down to get behind the glass. Also tint versus non tint any opinions? yes I'm getting vented either way
