  1. Have you thought about buying a second seat off of Ebay and sending yours to Rick Butler. I bought a mustang seat and it just didn't work for me, so I sent my original to Rick and boy am I a happy camper. Once I got it back I sold the mustang seat and got all but about $15 of my money back. My seat that Rick redid is like sitting on a cloud. It is the best thing that I've done for my bike. I've seen seats on Ebay for $100.00 and even saw a few on Craigslist for $50.00 I think that would be your best bet.
  2. Hi I read your post about the back rest and I was wondering if your happy with it. I am looking at the same one. Thanks, jocul4635
  3. I recently came across a smoking deal on a 2005 RSTD. The caveat was that it was 450 miles away. It had 2399 miles on it. Funny thing is that I had never heard of a RSTD prior to three months ago. I was looking at Honda Valkyries and Kawasaki Nomads when I came across a RSTD. I fell in love. So I started searching Craigslist and Ebay. I started talking to this guy in southern California who was asking $6500.00 for his. Well there were a few locally that were a little higher. I went to see the local bikes and they were unwilling to come down much on their price. I called the guy in California back and he said he had someone coming to look at the bike. I asked him to get back to me if it didn't sell. I didn't hear back the next couple of days so I thought the bike had sold. Finally four days later he called me and asked if I was still coming to see the bike. I said that I figured that it had sold. He said the guy's wife wouldn't let him buy it but that if I could be there by Friday that he would sell it for $4500.00. Have I told you what a wonderful wife that I have? Anyway after checking the VIN and the owner out I picked it up the next morning and drove it back that day. Oh what a wonderful woman I have who drove me over and followed me back. So I got serious butt burn on the way back and thought well this seat has to go. So I bought a Mustang seat for it. (I hadn't heard of Rick Butler yet), the Mustang seat pushed me to far forward causing pain in my hips and knees. I then read about Rick Butler's seat mod, and sent the original seat to him. The seat is wonderful! Thank you so much Rick, you did and amazing job. Next my bike wouldn't idle right except when cold. I read all the posts and ran SeaFoam through several tanks and it just seemed to get worse. The closest Yamaha dealer is 50 miles away, but our local Kawasaki/ Victory dealer has always done a fine job on my previous motorcycles. So I figured what the heck and dropped it off this morning. I don't normally look at the mileage but when I dropped it off it had 4812 miles on it, and the tank was full. (I took it to Colorado to visit my daughter last month) This afternoon I got a call and was told that my bike was ready and that all they had to do was adjust the idle. No charge. He said that he took it for a test ride and that it runs great! So I head down to pick up my bike and he was more excited about it than I was. Told me what a beautiful bike it was and that he loved the colors, (black and silver) I thanked him profusely and bought a pair of Icon riding gloves and took off. The bikes running great and idling down at stops. I'm a happy camper. Then I look down and my gas gauge is showing half full. I look at the odometer and it reads 4886 miles. I busted out laughing. I think someone really enjoyed the test drive:) I'm still laughing and starting to relax knowing that I purchased the right motorcycle.
