  1. I go both ways,(speaking of bikes I mean) have a Venture and a Goldwing.
  2. Free bird, reading your post brought back some tears and painful memories, because I too left God some years ago and divorced a good wife of 36 years. Finally came to my senses and through a lot of time on my knees praying to God I got back to Him. But I waited too long and lost my wife to another. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm so happy for you and you're wife that y'all woke up and saw what you were throwing away, and as long as you put it in Gods hands it will always turn out right,I pray that God will bless both of you.
  3. Thanks for the reply gentlemen, now to get the converter and start.
  4. I remember reading on here some where's about using a 4 to 5 wire trailer wire converter to make a bikes turn signals work as run, stop, turn. I know you can buy a kit from Kuryakn to do this, but I thought if I could find that article again I would tinker with it. Anytime I can make something work and its a lot cheaper I'm for it (especially being on limited income.) My bike is a 99 Venture, thanks for the response.
  5. Talking about oils, the PO had Castrol 20w/50w in my bike and the shifting was very loud and hard to shift, also was getting alot of engine noise. I changed oil yesterday and put Rotella T 5w/40w in it and it's amazing how much smoother the shifting, and quieter the engine is. The bike is a 1999 VR with 24057 miles, next thing is checking valve adjustment.
  6. The PO left a little drawn picture and it states "You have to lift up the gas tank and you remove a bolt from the "fake fins" and bolt them there". And I don't understand what the "fake fins" are? And y'all are right, they are pretty chrome.lol. Now this PO has had several other bikes over the years and he could have gotten confused on which bike these went on,thanks for the help.
  7. Here is what I have, anyone tell me if they are carb covers? And if so how do they attach?
  8. Maybe it's not carb covers that I have, because mine are not what you described.I will take pictures tomorrow and post them to see what they are.
  9. Hello everyone as you can see I am a newbie to this site and have been lurking for some time and enjoying every time I log on.I have a 1999 Venture Royal Star (recent purchase). My question is I received the chrome carb covers with the bike and the PO did'nt explain how they were to be installed.I have looked and looked and don't understand how they go on and I figured someone on here has them on their bike and could post a pic or tell me how to put the things on.Also by reading some of the great info on here I just completed the muffler mod where you take the Dremel and cut the center pipe into, and it sounds real good! Thank you in advance for the info.
