  1. Thanks, those look interesting. Do you have any issues with the detachable cables while putting helmet on? Also, do you get the ones with a mic to receive phone calls?
  2. I'll have to practice that putting on a helmet with earbuds a little. Got a lotta time before I ride again (dang winter).
  3. I'm pretty sure it varies by state. Some only allow one in at a time, others don't regulate at all. Also, going over the speed limit by even 1 mph is not legal either
  4. I've started wearing a helmet more than not at the request of my wife. The music from the speakers is muted and I have to turn it way up to listen, so I'm considering earbuds or speakers in the helmet instead. If any of you do the same, I'm looking for recommendations. Also, it is not my intention to start a helmet vs. not discussion, just a music in the helmet query.
  5. I brewed for a while 25 years ago. Gave up on bottling after a few batches. Bought 5 gallon soda kegs and hooked up CO2 canisters to pressurize them, worked great. Then I met my wife and.......
  6. I call that "the good old days"
  7. Had the tar and chip thing done to the residential streets in my neighborhood this summer, including the one I live on.
  8. I do the sta-bil and run the carbs dry routine, and have battery tender leads hooked to battery.
  9. This is a pretty cool idea. I think I would have a hard time renting out my bike to someone, but would like to rent someone else's. I've considered flying to a destination and renting a bike when it's too far away to just ride to. Time doesn't permit a long trip or I might get the wife to go for it.
  10. We're just a little behind you in Chippewa Falls. Went for a nice ride, also. Watch for the leaves on the road!
  11. Condolences. Knowing it is coming doesn't make it easier, and they are never "just" a pet.
  12. I would drill the head off. Drill bit approximately the same diameter as the bolt (5mm?). Drill only far enough to remove the head. this should allow you to take the tank off and there should be enough of the stud available to get a vice grip on. With the pressure of the washer off, it should turn out.
  13. '70's CB750 CB750 chopper classic bonnie naked 'wing Yamaha XS750 So, that's a start.
  14. I'm glad it wasn't worse, hope you heal well and get a bike back on the road soon.
  15. Sorry to hear that. I had plans for next week to ride WI to Smokies. Held out cancelling until I had no choice. Maybe next year.
  16. Which road in WI do you call the little tail? I have alot of nice backroads to ride around in my area also. I have a ride to the Smokies planned for late May/early June, but I'm afraid it might get cancelled.
  17. That's a nice bike, it's the seating position I was talking about.
  18. A friend of mine rode little scooters around town for years (125-250cc). He wanted to go for longer rides in the country so he bought a Shadow 750. After a couple months, he went back to scooters, found a 600cc, don't remember the brand. He loves it, we've gone on 35-50 mile rides together.
  19. Wouldn't he need 2 sets of HD plug wires for that?
  20. I check in almost daily, but rarely contribute.
  21. When my 2008 was new (less'n a month old), I took the wife out riding one afternoon. We stopped for a soda at a tavern 30 miles from home. When we came out, I had the same symptoms as you, but checked and the neutral light was lit. Took a while, but noticed I'd hit the kill switch (I always shut off by key and never touch that switch). Wife looked at me like I was an idiot (again!).
  22. That's the pretty one
  23. I bought one from him recently for RSV.
  24. Condolences!
