  1. I have sold my RSV, so no longer need these. I don't know how much it will cost to ship them, but I'm not looking to make anything off them. The lift adapter has legs, $100. Service manual has additional procedures printed from this and other websites, $30.
  2. I traded my 2008 RSV in toward a 2023 Indian Challenger. I loved my Venture and wish Yamaha had properly updated it to keep me on board.
  3. I have a 2008 RSV with pretty low mileage, so it should run for my lifetime. However, I have been considering replacing it because of its age and a concern I may not be able to keep it running dependably. I have been looking at the Indian Challenger/Pursuit bikes. I can't really afford it, but could maybe get one paid off by the time I retire. I hope not to age out of riding for some time, but I'm aging out of performing a lot of maintenance on them.
  4. Thanks, I've read that before. The longer tabs that the fairing screws pass through at either end of the trim piece are the ones I've tried to repair.
  5. I have repaired it more than once and it continues to come apart, so I was hoping for a better one.
  6. How is the chromed plastic windshield trim piece? Tabs are broke off mine, its just resting in place.
  7. I'd like to see what you do for a keyless gas cap. I find the current setup inconvenient.
  8. Might need to change your handle to Piggy Burner
  9. You should share some pictures of your Honda project with us. I have a '81 CB750C that I'm trying to get to run. Many of us like all bikes.
  10. I go on one long trip each year where my RSV serves me perfectly, but the rest of my riding is all small trips and local. If I could afford a second bike I would like something smaller and easier to throw around as I'm getting older.
  11. I just had a meeting with the group (all cousins) that I go on a trip with each year. This year we're going to NW Arkansas to ride in the Ozarks. Second week of September.
  12. I agree that a hybrid would work well for a touring bike, but the difficulty of building the drivetrain into a bike frame would be a challenge. Great gas mileage and excellent torque is appealing. I would also like to see smaller all electric bikes becoming affordable and designed for comfort (all of them now put you in racer position). I would love to commute to work on one.
  13. I think just water cooling the v-twin would've made a huge improvement, but yes I think the V4 would have saved it.
  14. I always wanted one of those also.
  15. My wife has been talking about a condo for a few years to ease with maintenance, but I need parking and garage, not ready to give up bikes.
  16. I made a donation, but do not want the membership discount. I hope they recover ok.
  17. I started following this group shortly after buying my bike new in 2008. I rarely contribute (because I'm kind of a moron), but have learned more from my fellow riders here than I can ever show my appreciation for.
  18. They are clearly marketing them to a much younger rider than me. I appreciate sport bikes (gas or electric), but can't ride them. I'm old, tall and fat with bad knees. If they make an affordable one with an upright, feet-forward sitting position, I would love one.
  19. But if only they can hear it, it doesn't make their wiener look bigger.
  20. I want someone to make an electric motorcycle I can sit upright on with my feet in front of me, I can't bend myself onto sport bikes. Get a simple one under $10K and I'll commute on it every dry day. I really like that technology is advancing, there's a way to go and I might be too old before it gets affordable.
  21. I recently test rode both pursuit and challenger models. I was really impressed, the power was effortless and the ride really solid through curves. I think they handled better than my RSV and would run away from it. they sit lower to the ground and I'm kinda tall, so that's the one thing I like better about my Venture. I bought a lottery ticket on the way home from test rides, that's the only way I could afford a 35K motorcycle.
  22. I wasn't aware of the Polaris business issues, but I did know a few people who rode Vics, loved them and felt abandoned. I'm too poor to buy any of these anyway and I really had fun riding them. Hoping the local Harley dealer does a day like it so I can ride some of those also.
