having never used a modulator, i cannot speak from a riders point of view. that said, i have seen modulated headlights in front and in my rear-view mirror, there is NO way , that anyone could mistake them for turn signals! every kid, from first grade on up, recognizes "flashing lights, as a school bus, police officer, ambulance, firetruck, or some OTHER "out of the ordinary" vehicle! i think , this girl was "grasping at straws",looking for an excuse, for her negligence! do modulators work! absolutely! just my nickel's worth. just jt

thanks, but NO THANKS!!! lol now wouldn't me and OLD charlie be a "pair to draw to"???? both crippled up with those "ritus brothers", too old to do anything, except recall fond memories, (when we can remember to do it). lol besides , i can tell when some one is trying to "skin me", in a trade! just jt

i never owned a "big bike", until about 2 years ago. i haven't started it in over 4 months. i LOVE tinkering with it,but i ain't crazy about riding it. i guess when i get all the bugs worked out , things will be different. am i scared of it? DAMN RIGHT , i am. not so afraid of hurting myself, as i am of crashing it , again, and having to repair All those &$##%$^ tabs again! my dad always told me, "as long as you are afraid of a bike , you can ride it." "when you lose that fear, it will ride you"! sometimes, bad things happen to really good people. just jt

can you imagine how many "light years" it would take an individual, like don, to round up a group this large, if it weren't for the internet, and yamahas! i don't know of any other site, with any other "tie that binds", who has as many active members, with so much caring, and self giving. i am proud , that i was allowed to become a member, here,AND IT DON'T COST ,NUTHIN'!!!! just jt

i first read of this, at lunchtime, today. all afternoon and into this evening, i have been searching for words of comfort. i simply cannot find any, so i will echo what EVERYONE else says. may the father, in his infinite wisdom, watch over and heal all your wounds. just jt

point well made, and point well taken, thom. sorry to have offended you. just jt

not having ridden a second gen, i cannot comment on how the brakes work. some here, like freebird, have installed a "metering valve" of sorts that helps keep the rear tire from locking up. i never have been able to understand why yamaha, decided to stop linking the brakes on these behemoths!lord knows , they are a great idea. just jt

just last week, i made a similar statement. it was something about harley riders being indestructible.met a LOT of opposition, here. maybe it was the way i worded it. today, for instance i must have seen 500 riders , going north on hwy 59. they had all been down to south padre island, for the fall rally. 98% of them weren't wearing a helmet, i guess because they were too hung over! just jt

hey, KIT!!!!!!!!! man ,you're gonna have to get up real early in the morning, to stump denden! i sometimes think he is a "yamaha spy/engineer," planted here to learn what happens to thousands of bikes, without having to do "an official yamaha survey"!!! lol just jt -
no big secret , jack. mk-1, has to be early 1st gen. and mk-2, has to be '86 and up, first gens! lol now i guess i'll wonder if i'm correct or not! lol just jt:confused24:

jack. i had the same thought. i knew what happened inside the cylinder, i just never thought about the "explosion", creating a flame. especially inside a sealed chamber! just jt

mike, i wouldn't have any use for something like that, but MAN i am envious of that shop and all the space! just jt
