if all of these suggestions don't cure your "backfireing" problems, you might want to cut back on BEANS! lol just jt:missingtooth:

LOL mike i had to do a "google", to satisfy my curiosity. YES the 788 30/30, was made from about 1967-to1970. i too shoot a model 788, only mine is a "chiropractor rifle"!22-250 works great on "swolen"necks, at 100 yards! lol just jt:backinmyday:

Man, Bob. that is NICE! why do you have this little flap, on a video, in the first place? did you make it , just for this purpose? just jt:backinmyday:

Can't "encourage", or Discourage", you at this point. don't know the "asking price", extent of broken plastic, or stator condition. i CAN see that the seat is in pretty poor shape. if it FEELS right, then go for it. just jt:backinmyday:

Lewis! that set up you "jerry rigged", don't sound to sanitary, to me! If you have fuel vapors hanging under the filler cap cover, JUST ONE spark, from a wire, could send you to the E.R., if not worse! might be wrong, here, but i wouldn't want to have that set up on mine. just jt:080402gudl_prv:

WOW!!!! you turn on some more light , in the second pic, and it's a whole 'nuther bike! looking good , brother! is that a 4 into 1 exhaust system? i know that "Miss Erica" is gonna love riding this one! i suspect, that you have lots of volunteer help, from the little "nutz'", too. lol just jt:dancefool::clap2:

Brian. i will gladly adopt those two little angels, then you can stay "north of the border", and ride with NO worries,(other than getting run over by a cage)! lol:cool10: just jt

Whoever printed that booklet, has never been to the "big bend", or the Hill Country! just jt

Thom. if you go through REFUGIO, a little town to your north, you must drive the posted limit, or below! if the sign says 30 M.P.H, don't get caught going 32, ! worst town i have ever seen , for ENFORCING speed limits! just jt

What is the difference between a "trunk repair", and ANY other part or section, that has been replaced, or repaired?????? IT AIN'T BROKE ANYMORE!so where is the problem? i just can't see ANYTHING wrong with this bike! wish i had the folding green , i'd go get it, in a heartbeat. just jt :confused24:

High-rev problem
hipshot replied to MikeC's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
BRAD, and Mike! while i firmly believe in the "cleaning" properties of "SEA-FOAM", i will tell you both here and now. Sea Foam , is NOT a magic "cure all". my '86 has been doing this for over two years. no amount of sea foam, bowl draining, diaphragm changing, linkage adjustment, CARB TUNING,cable lubing, etc, has helped. i have NO vacuum leaks. carbs ARE synced, needles are set correctly, the beast still idles fast, and GAINS rpm.s as the engine warms up. it WILL NOT idle at less than 1400 rpm.s just jt -
i guess it's time to wake "CONDOR" up! just heard that gas is under $2.00, in Rockport Texas! still at $2.16 here, 40 miles north of there! HEY JACK! rise and shine! lol just jt

Well. today, i dragged myself in to work. had two lifts, to make. the boss won't let ANYONE but me, operate his boom truck. after a couple of hours, i felt pretty good! lifts were not heavy, but both were pretty "tight", precision wise. pulled 'em off, without a hitch! just jt

Craig. since no one has seriously answered your question, let me take a stab at it. in my opinion there is NO similarity between the two. on a bike , you pretty much ride WHEN you want to . go WHERE you want, only IF you want to. cowboying, ain't that nice. up before daylight, in the saddle at first light, ride 'till you a$$ is raw and so sore you can barely walk.come in , just in time to feed, eat supper, go to bed, then get up in the morning and do it all over again. when you are done "working cattle", you fix fences, or build new ones, repair cattle pens, dig out the cattle guards by hand, "pull calves" for cows who are having trouble giving birth, etc. then there are the colts to break and train, tack to repair, "bosses" to answer to, wives who CONSTANTLY belly-ache about NO MONEY! the list goes on forever! that is why i quit being a "working ranch foreman". as for the quiet country rides, enjoying the scenery, etc, THAT AIN'T WHAT A COWBOY DOES. lol just jt:scorched:

lol!~ i forgot to mention, that L-3, L-4- and L-5 , have been "surgically fused"! i have had 4 back surgeries! from what i can tell, the ONLY thing the Dr.'s "fixed", was their BANK ACCOUNT! the specialist told me , "your spine looks like "swiss cheese", nothing is gonna fix it". he called it "degenerative arthritis" looks like i either will have to ride a "trike" or one of those "power chairs", in the future! just jt
