Well, we were gonna wait til spring, but last wed we went into knoxville. While we were in town we stopped at the Honda shop just for giggles. Next thing ya know, we're doing paperwork for an '08 wing. We pick it uo on the 17th. Pics to come shortly after that. As for the moneypit, I'm not going to part it out. I'm going to give it a coat of paint, and give it to my 25 year old son, who is a corrections officer in south georgia, so there will probably be another member on here fairly soon. Ya'll will get pics wed or thursday:mo money:

Ok, so the mrs has fallen in love with the '09 RSV. I have been very slowly getting my 89 ready to paint, have been accumulating parts, and getting ready to put the bike back together this winter. I even have a set of mac mufflers on order. the bike has a new rear rotor, brakes front and rear, (progressive springs still in box) new clutch and slave, radio and cb dont work, all plastic is in good shape, most is sanded and ready to paint. A few of the tabs are broken, and the trunk lid needs some work where the hinge goes. It's not broken but is cracked. the only thing that didnt work before i stripped the bike down was the cruise, radio, and cb. 87000 miles, motor and tranny very strong. The question is would I get more out of the bike putting it back together and selling it in the spring, or parting it out over the next few months and saving the cash for downpayment? I know how hard it is to get parts for the 1st gens, so thinking this may not be a bad way to go.

A drunk man who smelled like whiskey sat down on a bench in a subway station, next to a priest. The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of Jim Beam was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked, 'Say Father, what causes arthritis?' The priest replies, 'My Son, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap wicked women, too much alcohol, contempt for your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes, and lack of a bath.' The drunk muttered in response, 'Well, I'll be damned,' then returned to his paper. The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. 'I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?' The drunk answered, 'I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does.' Never assume you Know Where someone has been, What that person has done or What they are thinking.

OL WRENCH HEAD OF SATANS BARBERS MC:beersign:

I know that this is a yamaha site, but I've been looking for a sissy bar that will fit a 78 GoldWing with a 9" luggage rack. If I can find a bar in good shape I can do away with the luggage rack. The old bike is a lot like a venture in that I can't find aftermarket parts anywhere.:bang head:

How involved are MC inspections in your State?

Now that I finally have a garage again, and someplace to spread parts out, the moneypit is stripped and awaiting paint. While everything is off I figured I would try to see why the suspension kept loosing air pressure. What I found is a crack in the back side of the air dryer or I guess it's also called the desicant canister. I looked in the local stealership parts fiche, they show it in the drawing, but don't even have a part #. Will one off a newer bike fit, or does anyone have one laying around that will fit my '89?

I guess that some of this would depend on how you describe active. I myself post here fairly often, and read new posts on the home page daily. So I guess with that in mind I could be considered an active member. However, since I have spent the majority of the riding season getting the moneypit roadworthy again, I haven't made any of the meet and eats or any events. I hope that this will change in the spring, as I'm still trying to finish the bike. Right now I'm in the collecting parts stage for when it comes time to put the thing back together after paint. Brad's light brackets came in the mail today. So the question is are you an active member whether you make any events or simply post regularly?

:doh:Carl, now that I've thought about your thought, I think if I thought about thoughts as hard as you think about thoughts on a saturday morning, Just the thought about thinking about thoughts like that- well I thought I had avoided it, but I thought about aspirin too late, and now I think my thought about your thoughts have given me a headache.

I would like to thank the moderator who saw fit to remove a rather tasteless joke from the forum sometime during the night or this morning. I have posted a few borderline jokes that I have received through my email, and have gone so far as to copy/paste into the thread and then delete after thinking and rereading during preview. :2cents:I guess that we all have to remember that what some may enjoy, others may not. I try not to insult anyone, or get too political. It seems as most of us do. However, once in a while everyone makes a mistake, and I guess that's what you guys are for. We have a good thing going here. Very enjoyable, friendly, and helpful. Maybe the post last night will wake a few of us up and help us remember that there is a time and a place for everything. Thanks again, Joe.

That's the exact reason I stopped pulling a gasoline tanker 6 years ago. I got to thinking too much about the bomb 6 feet behind me. This really takes nerve to pull. Money's real good, but you can't take it with you.

If you do it by yourself, on the centerstand, taking your time, for the back tire it should take about 1/2 hr to 45 minutes to take off and about the same to put it back on. $20 to 25 to have it mounted. take off both mufflers, curb side bag, trim, license plate and plastic fender. Front is even easier. should be able to find a set of tires for a little over 2bills. Like Randya said, remember to grease the rear splines on install.

Trucker is because that's what I did for 15 years. 6pak is because when I first started driving, when I got out of the truck on friday night, that was the 1st thing I would want . A buddy noticed it and started calling me that. I also go by 6pak on the radio. Signature is self explanatory.

We live in Oak Ridge Tn. Home of the Oak Ridge Boys, and the developmental home of the Manhatten Project. We're 60 miles from the Dragon, 75 miles from the Cherahala Skyway. 20 miles from Knoxville. Any direction is a great ride. The 1st picture is of Nan and I at Bald River Falls, just off the Cherahala Skyway, the 2nd is the 9/11 rememberance ride at Worlds Fair Park in Knoxville, the 3rd is the falls again, and the 4th is my brother with the wing and moneypit in knoxville.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida !!! Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB ! The Military morale is high! The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts But Wait There's more! JOHN GLENN (on the Senate floor - January 26, 2004) Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living. http://us.f571.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download/us/ShowLetter?box=Inbox&MsgId=3786_69410240_24744_1975_121964_0_29464_193150_1373166385&bodyPart=2.12&YY=98533&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&Idx=2http://us.f571.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download/us/ShowLetter?box=Inbox&MsgId=3786_69410240_24744_1975_121964_0_29464_193150_1373166385&bodyPart=2.13&YY=98533&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&Idx=2 This IS a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military. S enator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn): "How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?" Senator Glenn (D-Ohio): "I served 23 years in the United StatesMarine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank." "I ask you to go with me .. . as I went the other day... to a veteran's hospital and look at those men ... with their mangled bodies . in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job! You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job. http://us.f571.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download/us/ShowLetter?box=Inbox&MsgId=3786_69410240_24744_1975_121964_0_29464_193150_1373166385&bodyPart=2.14&YY=98533&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&Idx=2 You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags. http://us.f571.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download/us/ShowLetter?box=Inbox&MsgId=3786_69410240_24744_1975_121964_0_29464_193150_1373166385&bodyPart=2.15&YY=98533&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&Idx=2 You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job? What about you?"For those who don't remember During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA . http://us.f571.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download/us/ShowLetter?box=Inbox&MsgId=3786_69410240_24744_1975_121964_0_29464_193150_1373166385&bodyPart=2.16&YY=98533&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&Idx=2 Now he's a Senator! If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran . It might not be a bad idea to keep this circulating. I AM!!! Sorry I couldn't get the pictures to paste. This isn't meant as a political statement, this is a comparison of those who give orders, and those that do the job. Remember, Sunday Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. Please try to thank one. To all the vets out there, THANK YOU. trucker6pak (Joe Besanceney) Sgt.,U.S. Army 2 Nov '83- 22 Jan '92
