Ok, I thought you might have same year and color as mine. I am going to drill that small hole at end of the crack and try to close the gap on the crack so it's not visible from looking at rear of trunk. Have a Blessed Day.

Hello, I bought the Yamaha counter measure kit for my trunk. It was already cracking, color dark magenta cocktail. Anyone know of a trunk base for my year or best way to stop crack from getting worse. Tried to get Mother Yamaha to assist me but technical bulletin for that issue expired 3 years ago. Was hoping they would replace trunk base. No such luck.

I installed the LED Conversion Kit from Cycle Gear on the web. Split the fairing and not that difficult. Pleased with performance.

You can get LED trapezoid sealed beams that are 4 1/2 " that were a direct fit from the originals. I put spade connections on and done. 1450 Lumens each. Larsenlights.com for $29.50 each. Plus shipping. -
I purchased LED 4 1/2 Trapezoid Sealed Beams which are a direct fit on my passing lamps. I put spade connections on and good as gold. 1450 Lumens per beams. Excellent for added safety and riding after dark. Larsenlighting.com @ $29.50 each, plus shipping. Check it out, you'll be glad you did.

Hello, I installed this kit and I am truly impressed with the light output night and day. Was fairly easy to install. 71.00 with tax and shipping. Price good thru the end of October 2014.
