In the mood for some simple laid back acoustics huh. See your one and raise you one

Want to mention that when I'm in the mood to listen to music and read say the forum I log in twice which permits me to switch between music and posts! Check out he age of the crowd

Hi guys, last night I started a Chat play list, can y'all jump in and prime me for bands and tittles please... For tonight tho I found 2 music videos shall we say are quite out of the norm!!! But, seeing as Mama likes to watch them not sure how she does that and keep up with us, a mom thing I guess? And NO I can't post them here on the club thread I started last night... Now they are very well done twists to old songs and worth noting that if you double click the vid then it will go full screen but; then you may want to uncheck the auto box below the chat window so as not to loose your place in the chat... When you press escape the screen will return to where you left off, you can read and scroll down the posts or recheck the auto box and jump to the last post! See y'all tonight on Yama Mama Chat

Please feel free to post those you like to add in. We can create a club play list. https://youtu.be/pZKpiVHvBhY that's a start\

Reminder Mama you wee to post an splaing about the chat logging in stuff...

Hand Grip Length
Patch replied to ken5124's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My experience is its always a somethin and I just adjust accordingly by moving things. I always use the largest grips possible on my touring toys so I accept that I will need to mod up a bit. -
Yes sir that is real close to reality and of course he would be causing the best counters to loose track with his mumbling on about the Titanic sinking and the problem with 5252 ! All the while videoing the confusion...lol A quick question Earl, how is your back? I think its been about a year ..
-
I think you missed Bob's point Mama? For the record Bob the mods only show up when they hear Mama's leathers hit the floor! There were two that I remember and not cause of this thread either (Carl check your tiny black book), they were on my mind the past couple of days as are other members we haven't heard from in a while... I remember the last time I heard from one was she was converting a bus to camper?? She and her husband were members, he unfortunately passed away, ring a bell?? The other had jumped in to say high when you introduce us to your high heel leathers Mama, she hadn't been well and was I think recovering from and accident and the memories of it, ring a bell??? Also where is BIGTOM, Chacharley, Underhill and how is his wife doing, last I heard she was recovering from open heart... There's more but my X left with much of my memory mistakenly packing them in a garbage bag, sounds like a country song right? lol I dialed in too late to the chat last evening and Poof everybody was tucked away, don't know if I can tonight either. Yaknow there's a lot of lonely hearts these days and I find myself saying Let me help often,my lines goes like this, If you've got a problem, I don't care what it is If you need a hand, I can assure you this I can help, I've got two strong arms, I can help It would sure do me good to do you good Let me help It's a fact that people get lonely, ain't nothing new But a woman like you, baby, should never have the blues Let me help, I've got two for me, let me help It would sure do me good to do you good Let me help When I go to sleep at night, you're always a part of my dream Holding me tight and telling me everything I want to hear Don't forget me, baby, all you gotta do is call You know how I feel about you, if I can do anything at all Let me help, if your child needs a daddy, I can help It would sure do me good to do you good, let me help When I go to…

Wow that is cool and very sporting of you! right on

Well then a happy belated birthday Puc! No idea why we keep counting after 50 tho;) Cheers! Hi to Tippy

Not for me anymore Puc, I don't even run my old Kat's now! My arms are plenty long enough We three had this conversation a couple years back I think we ended that one with a agree to disagree as well. lol To not confuse others tho, horsepower is an accepted rating or measure of engine output and as mentioned it came from Mr. Watts work long time ago. Of course as you say you are making lots of HP on that bike over 6000 rpm. So if there is a point to it then we need to look first down at the crank, then the total lever/over center, that is torque and that what the effort is all about. That said Puc, the resulting HP happens above the crown, right, that is where the craziness happens. The force is expansion pressure @ angle to the crank center and that as we know is assumed thru another test procedure flowing the heads for potentials or as is - stock... Then another true measure is CCing deck down and combustion chambers plus gasket which again I know you know can be done via math or wet. At this point we are close to establishing enough information to choose cams but, any change in lift and duration anywhere at that point would call for the flow measure to be repeated. So in the end and as you state with your r1 the efficiency level increases (hopefully) least wise in relationship to WOT so air flow is greater right but; again that is also the band where efficiency can fall off with naturally aspirated engines very quickly... Regardless of fuel delivery used or efficiency potential of one over the other. That is solid procedure from crank up then output which can be measured in torque, horsepower or watts. Following that train of thought then (agree or not) 5252 is only a conversion point in this type of dyno use. Concluding then if the above is correct then theory is that the crank delivers the output, and that only happens when the lever is @ angle so that is torque and efficiency in relation to the rotating crank. So Puc for those that enjoy this type of debate, can one just simply rejet or size up/down injector cc or even change carb model without the use of a dyno? Of course and quite easily too, with just the use of a O2 sensor for tuning efficiency. In my case I use a strobe and temperature thingy, then also there are the plugs which can be read, I don't need a dyno slip to know if I am moving in the right direction, for simple tuning. remember Puc time over distance traveled is something we too go thru not just engines sometimes I forget what the four stoke rule is, sometimes I forget even the basics on the list of what it takes to start and engine,,lol not that I don't know its just that I shelved the knowledge somewhere. That is the outcome of experience over a life time:think:

This video is worth the time it takes too view I believe/ When you get to the part with the cup you will see in theory how a venturi works. His first attempt will be modified to a finer tune. Pay close attention to his porting details. After you see this conversion operate, think of how he balanced the physics of the rear piston strokes. I wonder what y'all might think about the effects of that decision, or could you make the case that there is a better/more efficient way to deal with it or think he made the most of the units? Cool crank tho. A high score for his creativity I think

Pretty Cool jester Casey!

enlighten me Bubber, obviously I am kind of thick? I manned up for failing expectations, both mine and the monitors! As was mentioned I knew better.

Upfront thanks to all that are choosing to read this post, I have a couple of things I need to say. Most of us by now have read Freedbird/Dad’s post this morning. I am sure many of you think I took exception to it, then me being me, would likely fire back. Well you would be correct. However I took my time and read each line allowed as I wanted to have a feel for what Dad was saying and why. Really I found only one issue I was left wondering on, “splintered”. So I brought forth my thought-out views to Dad and Uncle Carl. Let me explain something, I am sure more than just I think this way: I studied some manuals then wrote an exam on these manuals for a position many years back. I was told with a handshake and a smile that I did very well on the exam and that I was hired! Is that enough? Well no because what does very well mean? Long story short I needed to know the results or I believed most likely I was unqualified for the position! It turned out there were 3 of the 100 questions that I got wrong!? “why is it so important to you?” I was asked. See if I don’t know what I got wrong, then how do I know what I got right? That is how my gears mesh, neatly and in rhythm. And yes I know y’all want to know the manual was amended. I can assure you that I no longer possess that clarity today tho. So back to the reason for this post: Both took the time to read my PM, and both replied. I don’t have to tell you that they are two very different people. Carl for example will try and talk a Bobcat out of a tree even tho he knows he will get scratched to all **** Dad just fires up the chainsaw what more need I say My experience tho from this exchange is that there exists a path here to reason and so I found a balanced reply when merged together divided by two! The point being that one causes the other to reflect which in turn caused me to reflect and is why I stay with the club! And after all I am younger and more flexible than Dad. hmmm Here I am among equals at a minimum, better is often just a post away, I find that stimulating. So Dad, no need to hold the door open for me as I am not going anywhere anytime soon; tho you certainly can expect more light switch flickering here and there, just know now that it is almost always Puc’s fault. Carl I will try to keep you amused in and out of traffic as best as I can, will try to keep the busses down to a manageable/reasonable odds in your favour but , I am getting old and my math not so good anymore Puc and I will continue to butt heads and agree to disagree, I will most often be right (not always) but that is the nature of our brothership so why spoil it. I am not going to apologise for my position or my much older brother Puc, it is what it is and what it will be. Thinking now tho that perhaps we can try blaming Casey, Blueshy or Mr,Dawson for a change? Thank you both for considering my position, tho this is likely no consolation prize it is acknowledgment of receiving the message. Thank you both is the best I can do. all is well that ends well, enough.

Well said Jeff! Puc I think it time to pass on to the younger crowd the facts that imperial measurements mislead the workings of J. Watts and Archimedes. Horsepower is marketing always was and Watts knew it to be, is why he derived it as an inaccurate science based formula, to sell his product, period. And for those still unclear, a crankshaft in rotation is a 100% measurement of torque rules, and, is what the pistons and angles produce. TDC is not a position of angular force, it is the max stroke/it longest point measured off of crank center or zero angle! Think about it

Maybe time to flip the coin? Earn how you would prefer to verses yesterdays way.. Anyways you're an enginwitheer you'll figure it out. And by the way: she said "shovel it" he said "that's not how it goes, it's, "shove it" Demolition Man...

eh Casey, I think #3 can change? I honestly cannot see a country as large as the USA without governance. Maybe the question is how to make then keep the levels of gov accountable. When someone is running for office here I ask what are their qualifications for one. Another is term limits maybe? I have to run out for a bit but I'll be back soonish, perhaps some can chime in as to what experience would improve upon their views for government? Also guys I've been thinking about some stories my Grandmother would share with me. What would your grandmothers think about this situation, overall and in general?

Oh the one where he ripped up one to open the second one to undo his mistake over the first one, that one? The one he blundered into a live phone call with the President of Mexico to publicly strong arm us into to signing or it would signed with Mexico without us, till Mexico he said NO DEAL WITHOUT CANADA that one?

Pulsating rear 87 VR
Patch replied to Pasta Burner's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Also make sure or check that the rotors are correctly seated. The contact surfaces should be inspected for buildup which could prevent the rotor from seating flat, say if they had been removed and then not cleaned before re installation. -
Well it was meant to read as a caution. I see this virus being politicized and used as a means, how can any of us deny it. Now if you want to see a nation upset at trade then take a closer peak into China since their shutdown.

I enjoyed much of the research i had done on this thread, I woke up early Sunday with some cautions I had found and was anxious to bring them forward until I read the quarterbacking that is. So I ended up deleting the post I wrote the night before, luck guys I wrote it using word set to American... with links and articles that I then looked up checked for bias, yes I really thought if I were to post it then I would quench as many arguments upfront as I suspected would be the most likely defensive positions that reasonable minds would take! Instead I am only going to offer the group this reminder: The question often was based around the conspiracy could this have been a weaponized virus (gone wrong)? After looking into the lab and the French connection then the dissolving of that partnership with that lab and collage there were obviously some doubts as to what was going on there. Never the less and as disturbing as the crumbs were to follow at the same time I caught wind of Fox's insane broadcasts. I listened in disbelieve several times then I heard the comments from he whom I shall not name. I do not hear and read as most do, as matter of course I even prefer to speed up what I've set in the queue. I pick out things that catch my attention, then I look for the motives separate what usually amounts to fillers or misstatements, just to say I am analytical to a point of fault, I know but it is a part of Hyper Vigilance and I wouldn't care to be without it;) Now to my point, the statements broadcast by Fox during the protest were likely brought under control by wiser powers then the stupidity of the host inciting the protesters. Hang on there's more; what was the intend of Fox to state the lie concerning the 2nd amendment, what were they hoping to gain? If you need to lie about your response to that question then do so but please don't insult the group by saying the governor was trying to change the constitution and 2nd amendment. Somebody must of whispered at somebody that those 2 hosts were flirting with "subversion" 18 USC Ch. 115 What I see is a small but determined segment of the populous trying to weaponize this COVID19 now to gain some ground and cover some tracks at someones expense. The government works for the people and is accountable to the people, do your homework because this nonsense is not over. IMHO Stay safe

I'll share some tricks with you: If I get an old project that hasn't run in... and I haven't any history on it then the first thing is Compression: compression will rule on both start and running problems as I move deeper into trouble shooting. When someone says "T have good spark" that really is a subjective interpretation because how did you conclude this? A cold damp engine needs excellent spark to kick her on to her legs. In fact it is what the term "crushing spark" relates to! Some examples of questions: how many volts are at the ignition coils, key on, switches to run, relative to battery volt readings? The use of a spark gap tester takes the guess work out of the equation, then check each spark plug after to make sure they are working or replace them. Now if the bike has spark and you suspect fuel feed then light the engine with Sure Start or similar stuff... If she wont fire with that then the other two above mentioned show doubts. If she does fire then assume for the moment that you are between compression related or fuel related issues. Another intentional is spinning the engine to slowly when cold and damp, this can cause flooding problems, because you still generate some vacuum and therefore causing the engine to flood and wet the plugs! But and even tho your explanation is way to shot to analyze I can't help but notice you don't mention anything related to backfire,,,,,,which as we all know is a **** disturbing event when a engine has been flooded then touched off by a spark -

If you go to a bolt supply in your area you will likely find one that will suit you. Take one off another to bring with you and do your best to match it up by feel, height and dia.. You mentioned trying to start your bike, have you or is it still not running?
