This is a post, lots of detail, takes time, but, worth the read. In this post you show that you have done much of what would have needed doing anyways! However NOT in the correct order. Lets gets get started: Ok answer our questions above, yes the carbs need removing one way or another. I will continue to add to your posting a bit later in the day, but pleas, answer the questions first. See ya in a bit

So I am not sure if troubleshooting is still required? -
Eh Phil Main and Quebec at one point, late 70's early 89's shared much information with regard to not just the cold weather but the dampness of our building locations. Canada Housing and Mortgage offered many grants back in the day for such developments not sure how many know but our building codes became a worldwide standard which was then and still, dressed up or down to suit local requirements. I had the good fortune to get in early and in a small part make a mark. Eventually I focused on both passive and active heating challenges, very exciting at the time till the markets crash under Regannomics - OH well.. Now I see some flies in the butter. Now you can ask around and likely folks will say na or ya but... The choice is yours 1st the exterior walls only represent R6 so that is not consider high by any current standard. The 1/2 bubble rap (sliver reflective?) we'll say adds .5R The air space between finish surfaces adds another .5R Now I'm adding another 1R value for the double layer BUT it shouldn't be static air in this case but lets say it is... That only adds to R8...! True snow and there's plenty up there, heavy and wet the structure as described will hold that load but that is providing you tie the rafters, the 6 X 12" beam will not assist the walls or deflection(s) should the loads spread the walls at the top sill which is what will happen I promise if you are only counting on the ridge which is in compression as a mating plate!! Remember the roof loading aslo must include wind gusts plus snow plus materials: you may view it in simple downward forces but only if you cancel the scissor potential of the rafters! OK, some will say "well the ceiling joist will take care of that" yes and no; it will depend on how the are tied to the structure, so yes when wind loads smack the broad sides of the walls they will switch to compression and cancel the loads, but not from top loading down! Did I hear you as Why? Kid problems are compounded due to standards in where they are built. Lets look a one load we know the structure will face. Snow weighs between 1 and 21 pounds pre cubic foot X area sqd. then factor average humidity, and in most cases you are close but not in this case.. So you could ponder this a bit by listing the 3.5/12, the weight of material, snow load plus what else, will this structure have and why... How you deal with the attic area will be very important, actually more like very very very important, so that's my clue to the puzzle Now aren't you glad you shared ...lol Correction square are not area squared!

We had the 86 & 91, both needed seat work which I did myself. What I know for certain the MKll is a very smooth non vibration bike, I have only had the pleasure of one bike run smoother than it. It takes time to setup a bike to fit, like peg location then how she balance steers lane to lane, the elusive perfect handle position and grips, right lighting, back rest... Windshield height was a big one for me, many tries till I finally got it right and less pull in the wind... Remembering Phil coming back to riding is more confusing then not having stopped it.

It may not be far fetched. What she is explaining is her circle. Lasted I checked there were 2.2 M. tested positive in the U.S. if among them there happen to be no super carriers then that number would read more like X 3 or 6.6 M. X 3 X 3...... If the virus holds course the death rate will become outrageous if, 100K U.S. does not already meet that requirement in the minds of some. What surprised me in this thread is the comparison to flue stats or other non novel viruses. We still have no idea the long term effects of this novel virus. We still are uncertain of what the antibodies found mean or if they provide immunity and if so for how long. We are only at the beginning of the effects found in children. The science is still confusing to those trained experienced scientist. I view that as still needing time and, we need to buy them that time by amending or activity and social habits. So as some of you know my X climbing/nato partner recently had a brain tumor removed; the followup treatment burned thru his large bowel causing a new problem which required emergency surgery. He was checked for covid 19 going in, not checked leaving, his family is now infected with the virus; which they found when he was sent back for another emergency surgery on the bowel! In Canada the most infected province is Quebec which is where he is, you would think they would have checked him before leaving the first time yet they didn't, really ignorant thinking in this mans opinion. What would you consider is chances are now of surviving all of it? Here in Alberta our safety code is quite strict all complaints are followup on. All trades here must meet practicals weather or not the tradesman is or isn't certified. How that is done is thru the Company charter which is libel if there is a safety violation; could be something like lack of specific course related only to their industry; it falls under "due diligence" Take @uncledj for example, on a roof top unit one Known issue is Pigeons and the waste they leave behind. Cleaning units may have what we consider a "safety hazard" so an assessment needs to be completed and risk needs to be managed before work commences, PPE would be listed, no service truck will not have the necessary PPE or one phone call could make for a miserable day not to mention expensive Lets not fall apart over this novel virus, for many of us it is still just an inconvenience but not for all of us. Is it possible that we just come together over this, get along and reach out to extend acceptance if not understanding? Y'all know I enjoy a good debate but not rhetoric we are here to help one another not spread known falsities or - the wrong side will win by keeping us divided. Just opinion of course

I know Eh Bum! You'd think I'd have it together dude but demdar Ladies full of confidence just knock me off my feet, Dude, especially the mature ones guess I'll have to settle for the 30 & 40's jendre that still think they can tame a bad boy...

WOW that strikes! I was just in a meeting with a beautiful well defined bundle of curves (really all I could think about, she even made the 3M logo look hot) but ya man she had one with the valve! hmm:motorcyclehelmet: I forgive her already @bpate4home Post 16 is full of contradictions, period.

As I am a proud uneducated French Canadian and certainly not the type to say I told you's so back in February! This was never a hoax, it has always been political and, we are yet to see just how much fallout is going to rain down because we stuck our heads in the sand listening to ignorance, arguing along party lines instead of coming together as alert listening to reason people in place of blind self centering ignorance. This has been a world wide challenge not a curse inflicted on just one nation or one political alignment. This whole infection spread has been twisted by several nation leaders too inept to cope and come together with few exceptions. Every leading authority has been challenged disparaged insulted for not having the right answers quick enough for a novel virus: all the while being blamed by all sides for not effectively being able to fulfill their mandates because of ignorant interference. I will agree with fool on this one point, all media slants the truth but, state media plainly lied, has in the past defended its right to lie; is also why it hasn't permission to broadcast in many countries, and should have the sanitation of a spotlight by people to prevent it from happening again by law. Think about that, the news broadcast is not by law obliged to tell you the truth or how it came to be, yet, the print journalism is held to a different standard! Why? anyways that's my take

CHOP CHOP you aint getting any prettier... -
Good save Luv! One thing I enjoy and stand up for within this family is our talent to disagree, debate and when necessary to argue. We all get roasted every now and then that is the chance we take when we engage We also enjoy agreement tho, even when it ends as an agree to disagree which only means that we can't find the words to get our intent, meaning or reasons for the why's across. Sometimes tho it is because we are too stubborn, now that is annoying and, no different than what we find in most families. What you didn't see in this thread Phil is the brewing of a debate likely to which was intended to maintain status quo or, a chance to debate whether the passing of solders lives is to be celebrated or mourned when remembering their sacrifice; or can we do both? There are 2 sides to a battle line, more often than not there is also differences in cultures where life and death have apposing views. Allow me these questions: How many of our fallen in recent years have fallen for our countries? Our way of life, our infringed upon boarders? When is enough, enough? When will the lives lost be justified by ending these 20 year wars? When there is a cause to fight, hit hard, let it be known, we are not to be assaulted/messed with. If we could ask the fallen was their sacrifice justified (do not confuse that with honorable) I wonder how they would respond? My point: when we remember only once a year, we tend to forget and so history repeats in between! This is a Canadian/U.S. clip from 08

We talked last evening in chat about the miss and the weak spark. Based on that event we then talked about ignition duration. So, power come from the heat expansion, the faster and closer you are to TDC the more responsive the throttle action, right. Now if you add Seafoam and you use Supper what can we conclude about ignition duration? hmm -
I was send here to monitor. Crash landed. Waiting for @Flyinfoof to repair my millennial warp drive. In the meantime I thought this a good place to practice my communication skills while keeping an eye on Fools weather technology! I am one of several aliens of the group. Here is the full story:

Hi been a busy weekend.. Anyways if I were to guess I think you might be looking of duration and overlap? If I were stuck with a comparison puzzle then likely I would take the specs of each look in the back of the manuals, dived the cams in half then compare from each center only the such as total lift, that's the easy one then half the estimated duration! Remember as you build your models that one change likely will call more robust units/parts to follow and absorb the increases of cam swapping. Also keep in mind that everything you mod for revolves around air induction, so consider the porting as well, or you could end up with too high/low velocities, which will effect negatively the filling %'s.. Keep us in the loop, it is interesting stuff providing you have a base engine which can handle it!

New to me 2008 Venture not running right!!
Patch replied to Flash105's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Most of us agree it is a good maintenance product Steamer, but it doesn't replace a screwdriver or a wrench. SeaFoam makes good products. You mention John Deer other than a couple of there units they are diesel engines, I have used it on my diesel as well, in fact I have stripped down the injectors and then run them, opened again and compared, I've seen the difference after running a can thru the high pressure pump to the rails then the injectors on the 6 lt.. It liquefied the both the diesel and oil gums that formed. But that is all it did. It will also soak some, into carbon but not on its own remove it. It has to be flowing to work. As I've mentioned else ware it also cools combustion cycles because it burns slower especially at these compression ratios we run. It is unlikely to dissolve the plug in a jet has it can't flow thru it. That takes a hot bath, poke and effort or replacement. Remember also that mover carbs are single jet and air they are not staged. Each time the slide pluses a new path opens, path of least resistance wins -

"I saw a 2003 Venture today. asking $3k where should I I test road it for about 45 minutes, fuel gauge doesnt work they had to jump it off, started fine after that even war zero issues and ran like a scalded Dawg!! IM going back to get it in the am if you guys say its worth it" I wouldn't. I think the book called for 10 ohm but I hear guys run 5. -

Can't start my 83

Hmm, did you guys here a squeak too? -
I didn't run the 1200 but I can tell you that long distance setups do not like low speeds. Having said that and if you riding sport then find a lot and try lulling it down and point your knee. Keep the torque up you may be pleasantly surprised. Also check the forks are they too stiff or soft? @cowpuc has a couple miles on those he might have a trick or 2, so do many others here they will will chime in soon.. Glad you found us

Good to hear. It is possible that he built a bit of a sleeper swapping in some V-Max parts? Could be heads, or cams and jetting, then likely the final drive as well. If the day comes you get to the carbs note the jet sizing down. The cam part number would tell you. So slides are working now and like @suds mentioned the leak... Keep checking the connections they can be ghostly tell you get thru them all. When you locate the TCI note its number as well then compare it to the stock number. Your tank range will be reduced if those mods have been done.
