  4. have run it in the garagh till it spat water took about 30 minets the fan didnt start but have hooked up a fan swich and fan works , dont know which valv you are talking about
  5. have bean riding my bike in Queensland now for 6 months and never had it get near the 1/2 way pint on the temp gage when i had the motor out i checked the thermostat it was not there. so replaced it but the bike sill run verry cool it has a big crom scoop on the front could this be the cores of the cool running. dont get me roung im happy with the way it runs just a bit confused as to why it dusnt get hot when its between 30-40 c ambient temp posison 1 on atacht pic is were it runs on a hot day after 100 miels at hyway speeds pos 2 is were it normaly runs
  6. ok thanks for the info as there are no ventures to get parts off hear may forgo the brake upgrade as the postage on a set of 86 botom fork legs would be like 150 od dolers ... thanks for the heads up gary ...ps is there aney calipers that will bolt on to the 83 and give beter performance than the stok ones ? glad i arsked ferst allmost bort a set of r1 calipers . got 2nd fixt geting them engins in and out is fun NOT lol but all good now

  11. i left the rear headers off when i install the engine that was a mistake but it is possible to fit and remove them with the engine in the frame .you have to take the engine Mont bolts out and move the engine ford then remove the rear tappet cover then you can get them in and out the left hand side but its no fun
  12. the first time you take that motor out is a nightmare gys and getting it back in wasent much easier , spiting the cases and replacing the tranys the easy part . i recommend replacing it with the later tranny as there are several upgrades aside from the thrust washers
  13. :whistling:the hardest part was geting the motore out and back in the rest was easy i replaced the lot with a 86 tranny exept i had the lokal bike shop chang over the midel gear and shims so there would be no ishuws there cost 50 dolers but worth it as i dont have a press
  14. well i finale did it and it worked a treat lots of frustration and swearing trying to get that engine out than back in made lots of mistakes but nun fatal took sum picks will upload them later just took it for a ride all good :cool10:

  18. fond the pics and info on Sean Morly's site and chekt a gear set out of an 86 it has the dubell grove

  23. no grooves on 83-85 groves 86 + as far as i am aware but would like conformation on that from others
