  1. While we are talking about passing lamps. Mine are currently tapped off the headlight as per the standard yamaha instructions with that tiny switch next to the aux plug on the fairing. Will i need a relay when i move them to the Kuryakin switch? If yes where do i include it. The Kuryakin switch has a 30 amp fuse between itself and the battery and then 3 individual 10 amp circuits each with a 10 amp fuse. Thanks again!
  2. These are my current passing lamps. Once i move to led's i will have .85amp draw for each for a total of 1.7amp. I will be running them through the Kuryakin Master Cylinder switch unit (3 switches each eated at 10 amps) so I was wondering if that switch could handle the current load. Looks like i am ok for now and more than ok once i go to led's. Thanks all for helping me validate. Looks like I am good to go.
  3. I am no electrical engineer so here goes. 1 x 35 w lamp at 12.8v = 2.734Amps 2 x 35 w lamps at 12.8v = 5.468Amps Is my assumption correct that the amp draw rises for each lamp added to the circuit? Be kind folks....
  4. Would be simpler to install a proper Battery Tender and have a safe solution. I put the Jr model on mine, simple 2 wire hook-up to the battery posts. Cost about $50.
  5. I beleive zip ties. Where did you find your grill?
  6. The first one is more of a flood light so would probably offend other drivers while the second one is the same one I am asking about. PHASE 7 is made by Truck-Lite. Looks like it is a 280 lumens. GE Par 36 are 300lmns for the 13w sealed beam units.
  7. Its says 280 lms when you scrool down on this page. Also has price http://www.headlightrevolution.com/Truck_Lite_s/1848.htm
  8. The depth is what I am concerned about. They seem to have a squared off back as opposed to the more rounded profile of par 36 lamps.
  9. Has anyone tried to fit the Truck-Lite 4.5 LED lamps in the stock passing lamp buckets on a 2nd gen? I am talking about the ones that match their Phase 7 headlamp units? I just need to know if they fit in the buckets. Thanks. Here is a link to the ones I am looking at. http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=92029&langId=-1

  13. There is also a different bracket with a spacer that needs to be installed to replace the existing brake calipers. This also involves reorienting the hose fitting as the brake calliper actually gets flipped by between 45 and 90degrees. You re-use all of the existing bolts. I actually removed the lowering kit from mine and returned it to stock as a result of the mediocre handling that the bike had with it on. PO had put it on and bike was bottoming out so much that the rear tire was destroyed with a grove cut out of the center by the seat bolt. I am 5ft10 so height is not an issue for me. Your call....
  14. Canadian Cruiser Customizing, they are in BC. Here is the link to what I ordered from their website. I actually ordered a kit of 2 as the shipping cost was the same. Ordered on Tuesday and they where to ship out yesterday, but I have not received confirmation of that yet. This is my first time dealing with them so I am not recommending to use them or not. I want see how this first order goes and then be in a better position to assess. Stay tuned. http://canadiancruisercustomizing.ca/products/afterburner-led-headlight-direct-replacment-lamps
  15. Update - will be replacing halogen bulb with new Cree LED H4 bulb. It is in transit as we speak. So no need to worry about burned bulb after that.
  16. Just ordered the Yamaha taillight and HD rear signal lights from Custom Dynamics. Thanks all for your help and suggestions.
  17. Just received the light bar in the mail today and it is in perfect shape. Question though: The lenses are dark red, I remember reading somewhere that I need to use red leds in that case as white leds would wash out. Is that correct? Thanks ahead of time for anyone who takes the time to respond.
  18. Isnt it great....I enjoy nippy weather.....
  19. Link will not open for me but I suspect it has something to do with police officers pushing their own car in the snow behind the suspects who are also pushing theirs????? That is a good one.
  20. Ok, I just ordered the following LED headlight bulb from the above site. Ordered a double kit in case I need replacement in the future. Here is what I ordered : http://canadiancruisercustomizing.ca/products/afterburner-led-headlight-direct-replacment-lamps Hopefully these fit well in 2nd gen.
  21. I assume this applies to 1st gen only and not 2nd gen?
  22. Hi Evan--just sent you a PM
  23. Ok thanks Evan, keep us posted on how it works and how it installs. Also if you can remember the name of the supplier that would be great. Been looking for an LED solution for a while now.
  24. Any more detailed specs of that LED headlight....??? A picture would be nice also:confused24: Thanks
