  1. Sorry to jump in the conversation. My wife and I have been using HJC modulars and we love them. We both wear glasses and there is enough space around the ears for glasses and speakers without any pressure. Placed J&M open face headsets with booms in them and they fit perfectly. Ours also have the internal sun visor that works very well. On the neg side, they can get warm in summer and are noiser than standard fulfaces. Hope this helps!
  2. Honnestly, I would need a new pair of underwear after the first 30 seconds...:shock3::shock3: WOW!
  3. ''Did you locate the reason it got chaffed?'' Yes, it got pinched in the travel stop on the left side and it is one of the wires for the driving lamps:mad: Lucky I caught it in time as the damage is only in the missing plastic coating. I will be relocating it when I split the fairing to finish my overall LED lamps / switch / relay install this weekend (weather permitting ). Thanks for the suggestions all,
  4. I have wire that got shaffed with about 1\4 inch of it being bare. Asside from taping it with electrical tape or cutting and splicing it, are there other way's to repair. Its in the neck area of the front forks so i want to keep it as skinny as possible. Thanks:confused24:
  5. Like the concept. I ride with a full face but rarely have the visor down, so would not work for me.
  6. That is too coool.... Wonder if it is expensive:mo money:
  7. Good point and sorry as I was not trying to be mean. All I do for mine is open the picture file in the windows picture viewer, then select the resize option on top, reduce size to 40% of original. Then use , save-as, to save under a different name. That usually works. Any picture editing software should have a resize option that would work also. Again, sorry Daitan if my previous post was offensive or rude, I was not meaning to.
  8. All you need to do is reduce the size of the file and they will download:confused24:
  9. Reason it took me 20 years to get back in the saddle between my 1st and 2nd gen was fear. My last ride on the 1st gen resulted in me climbng out from under the back end of a truck that had backed up on me after loosing his brakes on a hill. I had not given myself an escape route. I was lucky to walk away with minor scrapes but could never get over the fear. Decided to bite the bullet last summer and got the 2nd gen. Took me a few rides to regain confidence but I am still somewhat fearfull and very respectfull of it That is probably a good thing as the day I fully relax, it will probably bite me again. However, beating that fear back a bit was liberating. All this to say, go at your own pace and remember that fear it not a real thing, it is a product of our imagination based on our past experiences. If you let it take over you end up with a scenario like mine where I lost 20 years worth of riding enjoyment.
  10. These bike like to rev high so when I want to pass someone in a hurry i usually downshift to make sure I am in the powerband. They are definitely not road racers though.
  11. XS1100 was my first bike in 81. Had it for 2 years before I got a Venture. Was a great learning machine for me.
  12. Question, are the carb extenders an add on for those who already have carb covers, or do they act as carb covers and also cover the gap in the V? From the pictures it is not clear if we are looking at 1 or 2 pieces. Thanks
  13. Got it...
  14. Yup, my sister is actually in Largo for the winter. I have 8 more years to retirement, so must endure the winters here in the meantime. I do plan to do the snowbird thing then:cool10:
  15. Oh and then there's Taranna which is run by ... ahhh ... Chev? Ungh?????:confused07:
  16. And are you like many other westeners who thinks Canada ends at the Ontario\Quebec border?
  17. Sent you a pm
  18. If you look in 2nd gen tech section there is a thread that also provides the part numbers. Here is a link to it: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3768 However it is my understanding they are now discontinued. I finally found mine on ebay this last december through an auction and paid $67 + shipping. It was a used set but in excellent condition. I got lucky as I saw few go before that for about 250 each. Keep monitoring ebay and as they do come up from time to time. I used key words such as: Hd rear light bar Harley rear light bar Harley or hd vintage rear lights or light bar Hope this helps:canada: If you have access to HD dealers, drop by to see if they have a set collecting dust on their parts wall.
