  1. Yes and we will be dealing with its remnants on the weekend. Calling for tropical storm here on saturday. Our niece is getting maried on that day...was supposed to be a beach wedding..not now. She may call her first born ...Arthur:whistling:
  2. Thanks for trying it and showing they fit. Ordered a set today
  3. You had to go there...:bang head::bang head:
  4. Happy Canada Day to all Canadians. Our country is now 147 years young. Yoo Hooo! :canada::canada::canada:
  5. Yes I did. Works fine. Low beam is very strong but high beam not so much. Same issue as when installing HID's as the reflectors are not designed for LED's. Do get noticed better by cagers though.
  6. This time it was the blue wire that got pinched by the right side steering stop. It was half cut, shorted and blew the headlight fuse. Had no headlight or any running lights, but the brake and signals worked. I replaced the fuse prior to fixing the wire and all worked except the front left running light in the turn signal housing. Once I actualy fixed the wire all is good again. Just cant figure out why that front running would not work the first time. Anyway, I now zipped tied the bundle of wires to keep them away from the stops. Hope this is last time I need to do this.
  7. Not yet, need to get to my brother in law as he has the meter. Thanks for the reminder though. Was out on an extended ride today and did notice that the fm dropped a bit.
  8. The Motorcycle jack will be on sale at CND Tire next week. Its the 1500lbs ones and they will be around $80.
  9. Thats the way they are made, the LED is in that bottom part behind a mirror finish and is reflected by the back off the lamp.
  10. Low speed handling got way better but on highway it will float a bit at high speed.
  11. All my parts finally arrived today and I spent the last 3 hours replacing my antennas as well as all the cables. It was pretty much like the instructions said but running that fm cable from the back to the front was a *****, specially getting past the battery box. I did end up cutting the old fm cable and leaving some of it on the bike. Took so long as I had to remove seats, gas tank and split the fairing. Got it all butoned up now and radio works and cb seems to work also. Will need to test on the road once rain stops tomorrow. One of the new folding bases is sloppy as it does wiggle a bit, may need to replace that one in the future. I really want to thank tx2sturgis (Brian) for his advice on this project.
  12. I am running the CM II's and for the front its a 130-90-16. Not as wide as the 150.
  13. Here is an option for the passing lamps http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=84450
  14. Check out this thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=85189
  15. IronMike The Commander II's have the same weight rating as the Dunlop 404's that come on the bike from the factory so I do not understand why you keep saying they are not rated for the RSV.* The rear CMII has a reinforcing aramid layer and the front is also reinforced.* The front is a smaller than stock size of 130-90.* I have now run these for about 2000miles and they are way better handling than the 404's.* Look at the info on the Michelin site as your dealer is misleading you. As stated above the only reason Michelin does not recommend the tire for the RSV is because they do not make the stock frontsize. Sorry for being stern in my response but this debate has been going on for a few weeks Going riding now on my CMII's
  16. Take a look at this thread for an explanation from Michelin. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=86893
  17. ''IronMike - I have this engine light on and the New Commander II tire does not fit our bike. '' I have CII's on both front and back on my 2nd gen and they fit nicely:confused24:
  18. Is anyone heading over to PEI on the 27th for Atlanticade? If yes may be able to ride part of way with you through NB. http://www.atlanticade.ca/en/
  19. Yup that is correct
  20. Ok that explanation helps greatly as I do want to retain the functionality of cb and am\fm. Only one cable left to be delivered before I can tackle it. Thanks again.
  21. And here I am gathering the parts to do the Marshall mod on mine and all I would have needed to do was get these adapters?:bang head:
  22. They do make the standard rear size for our bike in bias ply. The front one no. You have to go to 130-90 for the front. It is a bias ply and also reinforced-it is not as wide as the 150. Check out this page for sizes and weight ratings http://motorcycle.michelinman.com/tires/michelin-commander-ii#dim
  23. I have 2000miles on a set on Commander II's and highly recommend them. Went for the smaller 130 front and handling improved substantially. They look like they are still brand new.
  24. Sorry to see you go bud....be safe
