Alright, my wife and I did a 14 day bus tour of Europe. It was the trip of a lifetime.
Itinerary was as follows: London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Heidelberg, Munich, Innsbruck, Venice, Rome, Florence, Lucerne and finally Paris. We were part of a group of 43 that included mostly Australian, but also 3 American couples, 1 South African couple and us as the only Canadians. What a great bunch of people.
Most of the traveling was by coach, but we also used the high speed train between London and Brussels; had Diner Cruises on the Rhine River as well as through the canals of Amsterdam and Cruise tours on the Thames in London and the Seine in Paris.
So to answer your questions Puc:
I was not fortunate enough to be able actually ride when I was there. The agenda was simply too full with other stuff. Honestly, I would have been comfortable to ride on their highway's in the less congested areas, but certainly not in the larger cities as the traffic there is just crazy and there are no rules being followed. Lane splitting in Europe is the norm for bikes and in Rome and Paris they are simply CRAZY. I saw guy's do things on Goldwing's and Harley's in traffic that left me royally impressed but also thinking that one of these day's their luck will run out. I will say that they have balls and talent:bowdown:
As for campgrounds and parks, I saw lots of camping areas, but nothing that looked like a park as we define it. I am sure they are there, but just did not see any.
And tx2sturgis, I have attached the selfie in front of the Louvre:Laugh:
Now, etcswjoe, the only thing that felt like jail was not being able to ride my bike for those 14 day's.
I feel blessed that we had the opportunity to do this. Not sure if we will ever get back there, but this trip has helped us decide which countries we would return to and those are Italy and France. BTW, my wife's name is France so this was special for her.
Also added some of the 6000 pictures I took from the trip.
Cheers!
