After looking up the part # on the Barnett website I found that it matched the number from my supplier witch is canadasmotorcycle.ca, so i figure they have the wrong picture on their webpage. . Anyway they have a free shipping and return policy on that so lets hope that they ship the purdy purple one. Can't wait to put it on and be done with slippage.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41VrxPCkgHL._SY300_.jpg Looking at ordering a Barnett clutch spring conversion kit but were I buy they are showing one with a blue plate instead of the purple one. Is there a difference? Sorry, my stupid tablet will not let me post picture this morning but above is a link to one on Amazon.

With over 12,000 members Get your Butts in gear !!!!
Bert2006 replied to Brake Pad's topic in Watering Hole
Well people have different motivation when joining. Cant speak for others but for me it was to obtain and sometimes provide advice on how to maintain my RSV. Do admit that i get more advice than i give, but i am learning. As far as events go, being in NB Canada those events are not alway's accessible to me due to distance and time off work available. Some day i may be able to make it i hope! -
Electrical question

I would alway's go with a relay...no matter what -
Have been running Commander IIs for two years and will never run anything else. Got close to 16k miles on them and they are onlyhalf worn. Pressures are 36 front and 40 back. I weigh 240 and my wife 130. Have to go with the 130 up front as they do not offer a 150, but that results in a significant improvement of low speed handling.

Yesterday was a very rough day at work with a few highly stressful issues (the kind that hit you in the guts). Got home late from work, could not eat as I was still digesting the day and was finding it very hard to concentrate or enjoy anything. By 9 pm I decided I would tackle a few maintenance items on the RSV. Well, finished the maintenance at 11pm and by then all the stress had slipped away and I got one of the best nights sleep in a week. Just goes to show that riding or spending anytime around a motorcycle qualifies as therapy!

I put Commander IIs back and front with a 130 up front that improves handling at lower speeds tremendusly. Do a search using tire as a key word as there has already been multiple threads on the topic.

I got a notification (from the boss I think)

Nuts could be a good description for me. but i do have a few sane moments once in a while and will take advice from the more experienced members here.

Just signed up for another year even though the exchange rate is killing us here in , but it is well worth it....have not hesitated. I would not be enjoying my bike without all of the knowledge and wisdom that exists here. I take every chance I have to mention to other RSV owners and potential owners about it.

Another exhaust question from a new guy.
Bert2006 replied to Saddle tramp's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You do not need to drill out the HD muffs. Simply install them stock with no need for rejetting or any other adjustments. -

Myself and a lot of folks went with RoadKing slip ons. Adds some bite over stock, but not overwelming. Plus you can get a set on ebay for less than 100$. Was looking for Monster ovals before but they are way overpriced and seem to shed their chrome way too easy...they do sound sweet on our bikes though. -
Saw a blue RSV at Hopewell Rocks today with Ontario plate
Bert2006 replied to Bert2006's topic in Watering Hole
I would not recommend going through Fundy Park on a motorcycle right now. They are completely redoing the road base in the last km's before Alma and it is steep hills with switchbacks in loose gravel. Had gone down there this spring and my buddy almost lost his bike in there. Plus now, they have a 10km part that is all gravel before you get to the Park. If you go to Hopewell Rocks from Moncton, roads are good and should not be a problem. We took the cage yesterday as we wanted to go through the Park to alma then to the Rocks. We came back through Moncton. -
It had a few scapes on the front fairing but otherwise looked good....anybody from here by any chance?

Yes funny, but it is staged. No soccer official would allow this to happen.

Once in a while i get the feel of my clutch slipping. Happens on hard accell in 2nd or 5th gear. Weird part is that if i downshift it works well and pulls without slipping. What I get is good accell then for a few seconds engine seems to rev up freely. If i let off the throttle and accell again it catches well:confused24:. Bike had 49k miles on it. Fluid in reservoir is a bit dark.

Will definitively miss that Rally but there may be a 3rd gen out by then:crying:

The trouble with motorcycle tires...
Bert2006 replied to camos's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have been buying most of my stuff from them. Can't beat free shipping! Tires I get from local dealer who install them for me. They usually match what I would pay at Cnd Motorcycles so I like to support them on that! -
If I remember right, he simply used two L shape brackets and used them to attach the top of the HD light unit to the bottom of the trunk. Looked for the post but cannot find it:confused24:. I used zip ties and attached them to the bottom of the trunk so that they do not vibrate and are supported from the top and bottom. You cannot see the zip ties at all.

Cylinder Drain Plugs - Leaking
Bert2006 replied to Trust The Road's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Replacing them is as simple as removing the faux fins and then taking the end of a used spark plug to pull the old one out and then pushing the new one in. No glue involved! Should take a max of 15 min to change one. The trick is to be ready to insert the new one fast so as to not loose too much coolant. Hope this helps! Never heard of them leaking in hot weather, usually when cold due to shrinkage.
