Wouldnt it be easier and simpler if we each did our own? I will start looking at mine tonight.
-
Don, can you tell us what would be the date when this occurred. That way we can focus on post that we would have made prior to that date and repost our photos for those.
-
Thanks for looking into it. Will gladly do so and try to fix my posts! Are the pictures that have been lost available on the site somewhere or do we need to re-load from our originals that we have on our computer?

My pictures are disappearing?
Bert2006 posted a topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Noticed today that for a good portion of my old posts the pictures that had been attached have disappeared. Here is one for example where this has occurred. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?84450-Conversion-to-LED-Passing-Lamps Any reason for that? -
I call mine Big Red :cool10:also but the wife has called it a number of names in the past that I do not dare mention here...this being a family friendly site and all:stirthepot:. She has now come around after a few pleasant rides with her on Big Red .

Passing Lamps not working- Please Help
Bert2006 replied to ap4840's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
You should also take a look at were the wires come down from the fairing to the lights on the steering head. They are known to get caught up in the steering stops and then get cut and or shorted as they get compressed. Here is a write up I did on this a while ago. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?85002-Shaffed-wire- 18 replies

Word of caution on the Spot GPS trackers, not the unit but the appearance of shady practices in the subscription side. I have been looking at getting the Spot Gen 3 as it looks like it would meet my needs for letting my wife know where I am on solo trips. However, on the MEC website (http://www.mec.ca/product/5036-337/spot-spot-gen3-satellite-gps-messenger-beacon/?q=spot%2B3) I got looking at the reviews and while all seemed to have no fault with the unit, they all mentioned shady billing practices on the subscription side upon renewal. Based on this I am now looking for something else. Here is an example of what I read: Purchased several years ago and all was well, never had any issues with lost messages, hardware seemed flawless. Recently my first 2 year contract expired. I was notified that my credit card on file was expired and the service could not be renewed. Fall is a fairly mellow time for me and I figured I'd just let the service lapse and pick it up again in the winter when I needed it. A month later, I spotted a $600 CAD charge on my credit card bill. SPOT had generated a new date of expiry and CVV for my expired, on file credit card (my new card has the same number so this is doable) and billed me for another two years, this time with all the expensive service extras and without any warning or my consent. When I called to dispute it and ask how they got my new credit card info without asking, they said it was their right, I had been emailed a renewal notification (I was not) and that if I initiated a chargeback on my credit card they would send collections after me. After much spirited discussion, including being reminded that this was credit card fraud, they allowed me to terminate my service for a refund. Needless to say, I will not be dealing with them again. If you choose to use the SPOT service, I highly recommend checking your statements, particularly around renewal time, as they seem to see no issue with playing fast and loose with your credit cards or attempting to slip exorbitant charges past their customers.

Canadian winter - I had enough of you - I am riding my Venture to Mexico
Bert2006 replied to jfman's topic in Watering Hole
Got to recognize that you have balls to go ride in Mexico:shock3:. You would not catch me there these day's, not even in a resort.. looking forward to reading about your adventures. Bonne route mon amis... -
Well that was the question I was asking, if you were sure it was fuel and not fluid from the shock...but I guess my question was not helpful.... will but out now and keep my thought to myself

Are you sure its fuel and not your rear shock that is giving up?

Has anyone been using this B&D jump starter/air compressor unit
Bert2006 replied to Bert2006's topic in Watering Hole
Here is what I ordered from Costco today...thanks for all the replies and yes will ensure it is always charged up. This unit can be left plugged in all the time and it will not overcharge. http://www.costco.ca/Powerstation-PSX3CA-Portable-1,000-Peak-Amps-Jump-Starter-and-Air-Compressor.product.100138527.html -
Has anyone been using this B&D jump starter/air compressor unit
Bert2006 replied to Bert2006's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks for the replies. I picked one up after work and returned it tonight. The air chuck is a screw on as opposed to the flip type. It was also made of plastic as oposed to metal. Walmart and Costco have similar units that I will look into. -
That would actually cut my workday in half Wonder if the pay is adjusted equally
