It will vary by state in tx you can buy a 30 day permit for about $5. here you would need the s/n and proof of ins. Check with your dmv they will have some provision for temp permit and what documents you will need to register it. being that it is a first gen your best bet would be to take a haul vehicle so you can get it home after it breaks down.:rotf:

So they are gm colors would that be 8031 white to go with the blue? Lets see these photos you guys are talking about.

That'll make your butt pucker.

I vote west Texas. Every one can see what hell will be like:rotf: it is also like going to Mexico with out crossing the border. There would be lots of bsing going on because there are no good places to ride and it will be hot as hell. All the hotels are full of oilfield workers but I have plenty of ground I can scrape a couple of acres of mesquites off for camping. If any pond monsters show up in my pond we can shoot em. You can all test your riding skill on the 1.5 mile dirt road going to my house. We can be as loud as we want because the closest neighbor is 3 miles away. Is this sounding like fun yet? If things get boring we can call in some coyotes and see if we have any shooters in the group. Heck I'm starting to get excited This could be one hell of a party. Ruidoso cloudcroft NM is a great area good weather biker friendly casino. I am about 300 miles away and would be willing to help organize it. http://www.ruidoso.net/

Definitely check for video. We have had the VR scavenger hunt now we can have the VR scum bag hunt. If we can catch him after the killing we can have him stuffed, take him to meets so everybody can take out their frustrations on him. Just a thought.

This type of research is the positive side of high energy prices. Where there is money there is innovation. I believe there are many good sources of energy and it is becoming economically viable now to develop them.

Glad to hear the old dog is barking. A good run down the road to blow the cob webs out usually work wonders . I hope she still has second gear. Keep up the good work.

Rank has its privileges. Besides if she let you bring in those first gens in they would rub off on the new floor and cause it to break uncontrollably. Then not only would you have broken antiques you would also have splinters in your feet.

Just how many yard ornaments do you need? Buy a second gen so you can ride.

Who is going to make the VR super moderator cape? I think it should be a pink leather one.

Congratulations super squid I have a feeling this will not be your last surprise. I have a feeling after reading a few comments the pictures in you profile will be changed to 99 green I mean silver.

Gerald in 12 years minimum retirement age will be 90 for social insecurity thats the only way they will be able to keep the system solvent. Raise the age till most people die before they can collect.

Nice lookin ride I'm glad you were not stuck with that antique for long.

Any yamaha dealer can do warranty work. The windshield will not be warranty but should be replaced by the dealer if it was scrachedwhile they had it. The carbs will need to be synchronized and that should take care of the coughing. Give the selling dealer a chance they will be more likely to take care of you sense you bought from them.

I would recommend checking with yamaha to see if towing is recommended. If the rig is rated for the weight your only problem would be lubrication in the transmission with the engine not running. There is not problem with pressure on the back of the gears that happens with a lot more pressure every time you let off the throttle and shift down.

Just curious was it a brake failure or driver failure?

That would be a yes. For instance you are approaching an intersection at 45 mph 50 feet before you enter the intersection the light changes to amber. There is no way you can stop so you enter and pass through the intersection under the amber light. That is the purpose of the amber to let you know the light is about to turn red. The amber is a warning not a stop light.

My understanding of the law in texas and I would assume nation wide is you must be clear of the intersection when the light turns red. I have never heard of any one being ticketed for stopping at an amber light.

Randy you will have the final say who does the work. I would say they will call it totaled and make an offer x amount you let the bike go or x amount and you keep it. If the offers are not acceptable to you then you will have to negotiate. those people are difficult to negotiate with you will have to stick to your guns and make them pay what its worth. Good luck A few years back I was rear ended by a hit and run drunk it took the police a week to find him the insurance company gave me the run around for 2 months. The adjuster gave me a couple of dates she would have an offer and failed to deliver. One Friday I called and she told me she was going on vacation and would get an offer together when she got back. I called her boss and told him they could settle with me today or my lawyer Monday. The agent postponed her vacation and called me about 8 that night with an offer for 20% more than I wanted. Don't give up and don't give in.

First of all I am not a surveyor. Sense you have a starting point you should be able to follow it with a compass. The only problem with using a compass is getting an accurate aim. You could stick the compass to the top of a rifle scope to get an accurate point and and use a tape measure for the distance. You can purchase the plate drawing from the surveyor who performed the survey the surveyor should be noted on your deed or the county clerk can tell you. In Texas if nobody protests where you put your fence for 10 years you own it.
