  1. I have seen more 1st and 2nd Gen Ventures around the Branson area in the last 3 days than in 3 years in Dallas. I'll bet a few were headed to ES. There was a silver 2nd gen running with a maroon Wing - Buddy? Saw some more in Branson while most were on the highway (65). Anybody we know?
  2. Bill, ride safe. We are just south of Branson until Friday AM. We wll be in ES Friday, as it's only about 42 miles from here. See you there. John
  3. Frog, I bought mine with 28000 miles on it. Now it has 59000 and has not changed. I can live with it.
  4. Yes, it is prevalent on the Venture, as it is the same as the RSTD. mine is really annoying until I get above 65 mph, then it pretty much is gone. I'm sure people in cages enjoy it as much as I when I ride near them. More of a chirp than a whine, tho.
  5. I know this is short notice, but the little lady and I are leaving Dallas for a place just south of Branson, Mo. tomorrow (Friday) morning. We are vacationing for the next week and wondered if anyone local to that area would like to get together. We will be in Ridgedale Friday thru Thursday then heading to E.S. to hook up with the gang there. Weather looks like it is clearing up there, so some good riding and eating may come into play.
  6. Man, I hope it clears out a little for you to make to E.S. Looking forward to seeing you there. BTW -- the clutch is great!! Thanks.
  7. Hope you have a great trip with many tireless and comfortable miles.
  8. Yeah -- what Mike asked....
  9. I had a German 880 fly apart at 3000 miles. It was replaced with another one just like it and so far so good. I check it often. I really do like the way it handles over the Dunlop 404s I was runnung. Only got 4k on the rear and was showing cord. Of course, I had no idea about the Metzler problems until just AFTER they were installed. Seems that nobody in Dallas carries any inventory in our sizes.
  10. Yeah -- All of that
  11. I'm with ya dude. We will be coming in from near Branson, since the ES thing worked nicely into the back end of our vacation. Look forward to seeing ya.
  12. Hey Friesman -- cock your head the other way
  13. I'm in Dallas where there are supposedly numerous RSVs. I seldom see them, but have gotten to know a few local members through this site. I have reversed course to chat with riders who were stopped somewhere (waiting on someone, goofing off, etc.) Some will seem surprised and were talkative and some couldn't care less that we are on the same machine. Anyway, it is really a good feeling to go to a predominately HD place and have the odd machine that garnersquite a few comments and stares. Enjoy it!!
  14. Should open all the way to where it stands straightup. Check to see if the passenger backrest is hitting something or if the hinge is damaged.
  15. We have our room set -- what is the "hub"?
  16. What are bass blockers? How do you hook them up? I'm all ears.
  17. Lots of new riders that act stupid and even more cagers that can't see anything past their cell phone keyboard.
  18. Wonder how he gets paint off of all the plastic on cars.
  19. I bought my 2000 RSV in Indiana and made the trip in reverse to Texas. Gave it a quick test ride and headed home the next day. No regrets or problems. Where are you picking up the scoot? I could join you and Goose for a run for the border.
  20. I am next to Dallas, but am ready and willing to help any way I can. I'll see a bunch of you in E.S. this Sept. and we can figure a lot of this stuff out.
  21. Tell us! Tell us!
  22. I signed up today
  23. Northeastrn Texas, Northwestern Ark., Southern Mo. All have abundant riding territory and accomodations. They are each near the center of the universe. The riding is especially good around Eureka Springs, Ar. Any would be great.
