Developed a vibration-what to check?

65 is, in my opinion, too slow of a speed for 5th gear when accelerating up a grade. Try it in 4th and see if that doesn't do it. I was frustrated with it before realizing the power band is high in these engines. -
Turn signal problem
jneed53 replied to Midnight V-4's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I had the exact problem. Went to a dealer and he found that the contacts were simply dirty. Use a light sandpaper and clean the inside of the housing. It was the front on mine. -

Well, the Kumho was a champ on the Dragon last week. I rode from Dallas to Vogel at high speeds, in rain, at low speeds, on interstates, on back roads, and on the twisties. I had absolutely no issues with wobbling and/or tar snakes. Cornering was great. I am settled in at 38 psi for now. It seems to be a good pressure for me.

Happens all the time. Not sure what the cagers are thinking (HD guys, too).

I ran my Kumho through the Dragon while at Vogel and was very pleased with the handling. It handled like a m/c tire and never wobbled. I now have over 2500 miles on it and after dropping the pressure to 38 psi, I am happy.

We (myself and V7Goose) rolled into the neighborhood around 4:30. Had a great ride. It was really good to meet all of those at Vogel. The organizers did a wonderful job of keeping us busy. Hope to do it again.

I lived in houston for 12 years from1976 to 1988. There is no picture, but I am sure it would be the 610/59 nightmare. I few years before I moved there a tanker crashed and exploded on that thing. I'm certain it hasn't gone away.

Running 42psi in mine. Only time I feel uneasy is on some small side roads that have not been maintained and have tire valleys. May fool around with pressures just for kicks, but pretty happy with it now.

Welcome to the DS. I have had a Kumho on for about 2 weeks now and love it. I am running 40-42 psi since at 35 psi I had a wishy-washy feeling. That could also have been because it was new and not "scuffed in". Been about 200 miles both solo and 2-up with no issues.

Ordered one, too. Now I'll be able to hear the horn above 15 mph.

Funny, but I parked the RSV next to a Smart Car and the bike was longer. I thought it might be when I was passing one on the highway. I just kept looking back and forth from the "car" and my scoot to determine that I could take him.

Shoot -- with what you have going on it can't be expected of you to put in the time and effort for this site that you previously did. You still do a great job. Speaking of jobs -- I haven't been able to get one since my previous company closed in Sept. Really makes it tough to do anything extra. I hope the worst has passed.

My Kumho only needed 1 oz. of weight. The Yammy dealer did it for me once it was mounted.
-
I weigh in at 260#. The wobbling I had when accelerating into a turn that I mentioned in another post is also gone.

I am interested in those crash bar mounted wind deflectors that I have seen on a few of you guys' RSVs. The best price I have found is $162 at Cyclepartswarehouse.com. They are $199 in the Star catalog. Anyone found a bettrer deal?

Well, I boosted the Kumho's pressure to 42psi and that took away the squirreliness I had been feeling. I had the wife follow me down some side streets and then a freeway to observe the contact profile. She said she saw no real difference from the M/C tires. We also checked to see if the speedo would read differently. Nope -- mine is exactly 5% off as it always has been. Eventually, I may get that Avon Cobra for the front, but the current tire only has about 5K on it and hardly shows any wear. Woo-Hoo!! Finally made it completely into the Darkside.

I'm at 35 psi, but not sure I like it. Feels weird in corners and seems to wiggle a little at speeds. Gonna push it to 40 and check it out in the morning. KBay -- check my other posts in this section where I went through a nightmare trying to get the Kumho to bead up. Seems that nobody else had that much trouble.
