I’ll get some this weekend
-
2000 RSV located in Schertz, TX (just outside of San Antonio). Bike would run great if not for a carb issue which I may have caused by letting the bike sit too long. The entire machine was serviced less than 2 years ago including carb rebuilds. My bad. I simply don’t ride enough. Bike has just under 100k miles, so it is about broken in. It would clean up pretty well. I now live in an RV park and hate leaving it out. I do have an excellent cover on it, tho. It needs a new home where it would get used. $2500 will get someone a good bike.

Hey all, it’s been a while since I was last on here. I haven’t been riding much the last few years. About two years ago I had Big Red’s carbs redone along with all fluids changed. After all that I let her just sit long enough for, I think, the fuel to go bad. It starts but, as soon as I try to turn off the choke and/or give even the slightest throttle the engine dies. Anyone in the San Antonio area have insight for me?

Thanks, but I can't make it this weekend. Have company coming. I hadn't planned to leave the bike there for more than a month. Just never worked out where I could go and get it. I'll just see how it behaves over the next week or so.

First, I must say I have not been on here much in the last few years. I had a lot going on. Anyway, I was in Vegas for a year and a half and have moved back to the Austin area in Texas. My problem is that the bike basically sat in a garage for over a year. I had someone bring it to me. It acts like it's starving for fuel from an idle. Once it gets rolling it's OK. Is there someone around Austin that can help me balance the carbs and whatever else it may need? It backfires a bit when the throttle is backed off. Never did either of those things before. I have Seafoam in the tank and that seems to have helped a little. Thanks in advance.

I haven't been on here much over the last couple of years. I was shocked and saddened by the news of Gunboat's passing. A great guy. Best wishes to his friends and family. I would love to be there, but now live in Vegas.

BF Goodrich CT works great on 2nd Gen Venture

Hardriver -- exactly which BFG are you running? Had a hell of a time mounting my Kumho a few years back and would like to make a change after I finally wear it out. 35K and running strong so far. -
Thanks Fly and Squid. I just didn't want a bunch of misc. gears and stuff jumping out at me. I wasn't sure I'd get them back in correctly. I'd take you up on it, Squid, but it's a fair run from Vegas to Cleveland. I used to be in Dallas. Plus, I have no clutch to speak of right now.

OK, I was going about the task of changing the clutch slave. Problem I am facing is taking the crankcase cover off. It looks like a bunch of gears are going to fall out with it, along with the case itself being very stubborn. Anyone in the Vegas area familiar with taking these covers off without destroying everything?

Pretty happy with my Metzler ME 880's

Just keep a close eye on the rear. I had 2 come apart in chunks regardless of air pressure. Seems that they don't like 2nd Gens. -
eusa1 -- Sounds good to me. Where are you located? I don't recognize the state flag. The BUBs have been bottomed while cornering some. Want me to take pics so you don't get disappointed? Not visible unless you look underneath the bike.
