Thanks for the input must rethink and go with proper seat.
  18. Will a seat from a 83 XVZ1200 fit my 86 VR?
  19. Dog fur is supposed to do that, but around here they just use it for bedding!! And the they ignore any of the sprays for critter control! Also dummy owls and such!!
  20. You got that right......makes the ears ring a little!!!! Here's a picture of the 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser. The custom stock I made. The pellet rifle I want has a speed of 1200fps. But it cost close to $400 dollars here in Canada. And your right our government doesn't know anything when it comes to firearms and neither does my wife!!! But she does like to eat deer, wild turkey and bunny!!!
  21. If the plug caps have no resistors in them you use resistive plugs. Now I have been told that using no resistive plugs with non resistive plug caps is not good for your coils! Now don't take this as being correct this is what I've been told. Now my Yamaha shop manual says to use resistive plugs. So I do. Now if you want a plug that will give you less carbon build up go with the E3 plugs. The design gives more area for a spark to jump to. There a lot of different opinion's on these plugs BUT the are based on automotive results. Newer vehicles don't like them much. BUT I use them in my 83 Yamaha XJ750K and love them. The bike starts with just a touch of the starter button and with little to no choke. As soon as I get my VR up and running I'll be putting a set in it.
  22. I don't, my wife made me do it! "It's so cute and cuddly" she said. "DON'T LET THE DOG KILL IT!" BUT it's OK if the dog kills them when she's not around. Of course the dog is on a mission to get the chipmunk that has a nest in the fender of my pickup truck. Killer lays for hours in front of the truck staring at the fender waiting for him to come out. And when killer dozes off the chipmunk makes a mad dash into the wife's flowerbed!!! I'm surprised the chipmunk has not gone missing on one of my trips to town with the truck!
  23. Harleys do make nice planters for the front lawn! So they are getting really cheap with what they throw in arn't they!! They used to give you a free pair of riding boots when you bought one. At least they did here in Ontario, but that WAS 10 years ago. I guess I cant be too hard on you about it. My brother is a Harley guy, 2 sportsters, a fatboy, 1950 EL, and a Road King. And a good job with the government so he can pay the repair bills to keep them on the road!!!! Last time he came down to my place on his Road King it cost him $500 just to get his tire replaced! His rear tire blew out on the 401 at Oshawa Ontario and it was in a rain storm! And it was 10 PM and he had to find a motel. And he had to wait till next morning to find a shop to replace his tire and he had to pay for a tow. And when he got back to Ottawa after his visit here his Harley mechanic told him if he was smart he would be riding a YAMAHA like his OLDER, and obviously wiser, brother! Cheaper and better all around he was told! So carry lots of for repairs, get a really good AAA road side assistance coverage. Doesn't Harley come with that kind of coverage? And enjoy your new bike looks good! PS I HATE HARLEYS!!!!!!!!
  24. Well the irony of it all is that I had to SAVE one of the little baby red bast#rds from getting eaten by killer:178:!! You see they found there way into the closed in roof over the front porch. First they used it to store walnuts! Thousands of them!!! Then this year one of the red bast*rds decided to have babies up there. So one of them fell out and must figured killer was its mother! This little red so and so headed straight for the dog when it got to with in 4 feet the wife made me grab it and save it from the dog! Fortunately it didn't rip my hand off. Not that it would have mattered to the wife!! Then I had to go get a ladder and put it back up in the roof. Now they have grown up and moved out so I blocked all the holes, 3 of them! Now its a waiting game to see if they try and get back into the roof to store those DAMN walnuts!!! I wonder how a stick of dynamite would work out!
