  1. My self and others have been using these plugs in Yamaha XJ and Secas for a few years. And no adverse effects! One thing you must realize this is not an industry warning. This is a statement from an individual on a forum who holed a cylinder! More then likely he ran his engine in a too lean condition to get more speed. And you will burn a hole through your pistons with ANY plug if you run too lean. When I was racing sleds we used to lean our fuel/air mixtures out to get max speed. The only draw back was you would burn a hole through your STOCK pistons doing this. We used pistons with a special hardened surface to avoid this problem. Check with E3 email about your concerns then go from there. My suggestion is FIRST get your bike running right WITH stock Plugs then switch out to the E3's. If E3's where burning holes like the guy says there would have been an industry wide warning and E3 would be facing a massive law suit by now.
  2. Yes they ARE resistor plug!
  3. Vacuum hose can be connected to any plug. Also tight Intake Valves can cause the symptoms you are having.
  4. Done!
  5. Owing a Harley will do that to you. First you can't spell, then you don't talk good no more, then your dragging you knuckles on the ground!
  6. I looked really hard and I just couldn't see any Turkeys in the creek!! I better go get my eyes tested again!
  7. That has something to do with the age of most of us! Our minds start to wader and then we tend to just kind of wander off talking about the last thing we heard. And why are we going south again? Is there a party down there or something?
  8. Fill with Tide and run for 1/2 hour should do the trick!!:rotfl:
  9. Think we should all go there!!!!!!

    Accident

Glad you are OK! How's the trailer?
  11. I don't think that plug should be that clean if you turned the screw out that far!! I would think it would be black from being to rich of a fuel mixture.
  12. I should have said the vacuum tube caps. I had that problem on my XJ. The caps looked good and felt good but the where leaking. And using propane or what ever does not ALWAYS show where a vacuum leak is. It did not show that MY vacuum caps where leaking!
  13. I don't see me either and I don't know why!! Oh ya, I'm still here that's why!! Enjoy the International and post lots of pic's for us who can't be there.
  14. I'm going to give it a try and see how it works. Flat black or not, have to think about it. My problem is I'm a sticker for keeping thing LOOKING original. Don't know why, just am!
  15. OK left side cover air vent A OK. Right side busted. Here's a picture of what I have been thinking of doing. This a mockup of my right side replacement what do you guys think?
  16. I HATE facebook every time I went on it I got in SH*T!!!!
  17. Check the vacuum tubes for leaks also. But usually if you have a vacuum leak it is very hard to get a good carb sync.
  18. Now that I think of it it could be that because it is coasting you are dumping unburned fuel into the cylinder(s) and that's why it is popping/back firing. In that case you cannot do much about it.
  19. Is it still backfiring with the E3's?
  20. I'm going to check with some one who knows a little more but I still think a carb sync is in order. what RPM are you idling at? I would just turn out enough to see if it stops and only make the adjustment after the engine is warmed up. Go for a ride then adjust. Idle speed 1000 RPM max. Low side 950 RPM.
  21. How do your plugs look? I'd check the plug color before I start turning things. and you probably need to do a carb sync!!!
  22. I'll probably take you up on that! As soon as I get to the point where I need to fix things. Like I the left saddle bag has a hole in it. Looks like its been hit or dropped. Also found a crack in the bottom of the trunk. Its had something dropped on it or its been hit with something. I'm going up to Aircraft Spruce in Brantford and see what is best for this looooong crack. Its at the bottom along the back and runs the width of the trunk!! I'll let you know when I can make it and I'll throw it in the car and come over!!!
  23. My bike is in NO condition to go anywhere!!!! Its all apart and all over the garage!!!!!
  24. Those are the parts they've been picking up on the side of the ROAD!!!!
  25. How MEK and how much ABS do you mix together for this?
