  4. NOW that's good!!!!! We need it in Canada!! Its OK to laugh he didn't get hurt! http://video.ca.msn.com/watch/video/biker-crosses-tracks-too-early/1glmdqgnv?src=CPSmall%253ashare%253aemail%253auuids&from=cp%255ecustompla%2byer_en-ca_autos
  5. OK got her done!! Dug out old one with a long screw driver. Slipped new one on to the rod, slid rod back in gave a LIGHT push around the seal and its in! Easy as pie! Thanks guys for your input and patients. I don't like to do things unless I'm absolutely sure I know what to do. I have learned this the hard!
  6. Can you remove the push rod to take out the seal????? Mines leaking and it looks like a metal washer is covering the seal!
  7. OK I had recently gone through this with my 86 VR. It sat for 11 years before I bought it. The cap would only turn part way and I tried everything. So what I did was I got a liter, Canadian eh, of Evaporust poured it through the gas gauge hole. Make sure all the old gas is out of it first. I then turned it upside down so ALL the Evaporust was sitting down at the gas cap end of the tank. Left it for 3 days then flipped it back over put the key in and off it came!
  8. I was just kidding on the cranking. I have found the leak is the seal on the rod that the clutch slave pushes. How do I fix it? Can I pull the rod out since it is just a push rod? Is it connected to any thing? I do have the seal that came with the rebuild kit. Just haven't found anything in the shop manual about replacing the seal!
  9. OK got the rear pipes off! Had to disconnect the rear brake line and moved reservoir and loosened off side brace and moved it and they came out. Thanks guys. Going to replace have one ordered off Ebay.
  10. Actually from what I could see, I used a mirror, I could see a hex bolt up under there just behind the sump. Now it looks like that's where its coming from since it is only dripping from that area. I might just give it a touch to see if it is loose.
  11. OK Ground Hugger I'll just do that thanks for the help!!!

  14. Reminds me of the other day when I went up to Aircraft Spruce Canada to get the Plastifix and few other things. I new what I wanted and told the sales girl. She couldn't find it on her computer. Asked if I had part numbers. No I don't have part numbers! I want Plastifix, MEK, and 8 GA battery cable and ends. The problem was she didn't even now where to look on her computer! I had to show her where the stuff was on it!! She then says, "You know you could have ordered it online then came picked it up!!!!" My response, ":starz: Gee I thought you would KNOW where to look since you sell it every day!!!!!" I now have to order online. Go figure .
  15. OK I got the bike running and noticed oil leak. Guess my bike wants to be a Harley. Couldn't see anything due to the collector. So since I had to take the collector anyway I tore off the exhaust system and took a better look. Now the leak is to the right side of the bike under the clutch gears. Ride side being if you where siting on the bike. :backinmyday:Any way I got a mirror, shhhhh stole one from the wife:whistling:. And I had a look and all I can see up where the leak appears top be is a allen bolt. What is that for? I don't want to touch something I shouldn't.
  16. Going to remove the rear exhaust pipes today. I found the worst part to be getting the nuts off the collector, well actually the one on the right side any way. It was a bit*ch to do!
  17. I wish I could! But that's something that's out of my league and I'm sure we just don't have the facilities in my area to support such an event. But I would be glade to help out in such a venture tf one of the SW Ontario boys where to host one!
  18. OK I'll give it a go tomorrow. thanks Wayne:backinmyday:
  19. OK I got the exhaust off going to replace the collector. Ordered a replacement off of Ebay. Also how hard is it to get the REAR exhaust pipes off of the engine? I would like to have good look at them to se if they need replacing.
  20. I think if a Harley last past 10 years its automatically designated Classic Isn't it?
  21. How about in Canada after all it is a International Rally?
  22. I may come down for 1 day if I can get away. I need to get some parts from one of the boys.
  23. Wayne nothings ever easy is it! Oh well guess I'll head out to the garage and see what I can do. Just don't want to have to replace all those exhaust gaskets! If I have to get new ones I'll get them in Brantford and then go bug Marcarl for a while!
  24. That's good to hear BUT these have been on and sitting for the last 11 years out in the rain and snow under a tarp! So I'm not too optimistic on how they may look once I pull it a part.
  25. Thanks Flyinfool for the heads up well I'm going to give it a try and see if I can do it with out taking off the mufflers. If not I'll be buying lots of gaskets!
