Well, I just like to think that I'm being more thoughtful and careful when it takes me a lot longer to get things done. Like my VR recommissioning for example. I know a lot of people think I should be finished by now, especially the wife.

I have ventured on parts of it. A section of it runs right past my house! If you are looking for a nice ride with curves, hills and views of Lake Erie it is pretty good once you get west of fort Erie. Lots of small towns and fine eateries along the route. I plan on riding the whole Lake Erie to Lake Saint Clair section next summer once I have the VR on the road. Would be more comfortable then riding my XJ750 on this stretch.

We where up by the old folks home on Nelson Street. This is also Front Road once it leaves Dover. You guys should have dropped by if you went out on Front Road towards Turkey Point!!!! Only saw 2 Venture Royales one on Nelson and one on the main drag. My friends from Oshawa were parked on St Andrew St at Clinton St. Didn't get to see much the wife has major feet problems and a lot of walking is out of the question.

Like I say if you stick to the manufacture's suggested grade and type of oil how can you go wrong? Proof is in the pudding as they say. No one who uses the manufacture's suggested grade and type of oil has ever complained of slipping due to oil. BUT I have heard from many how having switched from auto to motorcycle oil say that their slippage problem has stopped. Just food for thought.

The one that I am looking for is the boot on the handle bar. On right side of the picture. If I knew how I'd put an arrow but don't know how to do it.

This a route for bikes, as in peddle, but it can be used as a scenic motorcycle route that runs along the St Lawrence River, North Shore of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. It starts at the Ontario/Quebec border on Hwy 2. It runs east to Stoney Point on Lake St. Clair. Most of the route is on paved roads but parts do use off road trails. But you can just make d-tours around these off road sections. Also the route is well marked with signs that say "Water Font Trail" on them. The route is broken up into map sections which can be found on the following web site: http://www.waterfronttrail.org/trail.html I think this would be well worth looking into for anyone looking for news roads to try.

I am looking for this rubber piece that goes on the handle bar, see picture. I tried to order from Yamaha but could not get any. Only need one, PO had removed it to add something to the handle bar. If any one has one or two they can spare let me know. I know the picture is not real clear.

The additives affect the clutch plates they depend on friction to work just like the brake pads do. Grease up your clutch plates and see how well they work. Additives in the oil works the same way they are anti-friction. Also the argument that its a marketing strategy by the motorcycle oil manufactures doesn't fly. The oil is made by the same companies for both motorcycles and autos. Its the motorcycle manufactures that design the clutches and determines the materials that they use to make them and that determines what oil is usable with them. Has absolutely nothing to do with the oil companies. If it was alright to use regular oil the motorcycle manufactures would say so.

As Flyinfool says Yamaha clutches are pron to slip using automotive oil its a fact. Auto oils have anti wear additives that promote slippage that is an petroleum industry fact. That is why oils for use in engines using wet clutches are formulated differently another fact. If you do not experience slippage you are extremely lucky. If it works for you then keep using auto oil. But personally I do not believe in tempting fate. For the few extra dollars I pay for my oil its worth the peace of mind I get. After all the work and money I put into my bikes why would I cheap out on the one most important thing my bike needs to run! Oh yes some diesel oils are formulated with out the anti wear additives and can be used in there place.

Well I just rebuilt my clutch slave a little while ago. I noticed that there was a lot of oil on the side of the engine in this area. In fact you could see that from the amount of dirt and oil there was that this leak had been there for quite some time. And when I started the bike there was a slow drip under the bike. Pulled the slave re built it cleaned up the mess as best I could. Changed the seal on the shift shaft. That was the end of the leak. Engine oil was leaking out through the shaft seal.

It's nice to stir the pot and get the blood flowing now and then though!!! I'm all for it the more the merrier!!

I always bleed up even my brakes!

Yamaha motorcycle wet clutch's do not like auto oil at all! Can't use it in the XJ's or Seaca's from the 80's either! The clutch will start to slip if you use it! Just the way it is!

Port Dover is always busy with bikes! We live on one roads that are a preferred route for motorcyclist and it is busy every weekend and most nice days. Went to Port Dover's Friday the 13th today. Not because I wanted to but because the boss, aka wife, told to me to. The wife's girlfriend has never been and she made her boyfriend bring her so I HAD to take the boss in to meet up with them. It was very cool but not cold. BUT the wife's friends where frozen from from the ride down from Oshawa. The left there about 5 am and arrived in Dover at 9 am after a few stops to try and warm up! Took a couple pictures. Forgot heres a live web link to PD 13 Video Advertising

Very sad news indeed Bob. Went through that a few years ago with a lab cross breed we had. Swore we would not get another pet. But when our son went off to Afghanistan we ended up with his rottweiler/sheppard pup. We've had her now for the last 4 years. I don't know if I'll out live "killer" or if she will out live me. It will be very hard either way.
