  1. Ok, I've got that part but where do I get the map?
  2. Ok, I give up. How do I add the states traveled map to my signature? Better than that...how do I add a signature?
  3. I've finally decided to use the CB on my 04 Venture and can't seem to raise anyone. I can hear others but not that clearly. Any suggestions or advise would be appreciated. Dave
  4. My current bike is an 04 Midnight Venture which I bought on Ebay in late 05. It runs like a clock....only change the oil and filter and put gas in it. My previous bike was a 99 Royal Star Silverado I found on Cycletrader. I bought that bike in 2003 and sold it in 05 when I found the Midnight Venture:322:
  5. I must be missing something in this string. I've been plugging my Ipod into the aux jack in the face of the cassette player for over a year. The only problem I have is when I power my Ipod with the AC adapter under the cowling, there is tremendous static across the audio. What am I missing?
  6. Nice job. The small things we do demonstrate our love
  7. I purchased a cruztools Tirepro Universal Tire Repair Kit a couple of years ago... have not used it yet (knock on wood). Go to Cruztools.com This kit has all the patches, cat turd cord, rubber glue etc and includes a time-proven "Engineers" pump for inflation. Its based on a two way check valve. Remove one of the sparkplugs and install the check valve. During the downward movement of the piston, the valve opens to let cool, external air into the chamber. Conversely, when the piston moves back up, the valve closes pushing air down the hose to the tire. Compression of the cylinder is greatly rediced by presence of the valve, thereby greatly reducing the draw of fuel and exhaust fumes that would otherwise be pumped into the tire. Adapters are included to fit most thred diameters. Three and four cylinder motors should be able to run (Royal Stars) while pumping air. Two cylinder motors would simply use the starter to turn the motor and pump air. This kit is a last resort for me. I have a AAA RV membership which includes towing your bike to a repair shop. Hope this helps Dave
  8. My older brother who has been riding for 50 years gave me good advice when I atarted riding. Little brother...ride as though the supidest things will happen in front of you and you wlll be prepared as you can be.
  9. Here is one for the group... I have a first generation Delphi unit which I swap out between my car and home (Klipsch Room Groove) and want to use it for the Venture as well. Three set ups with one unit.... I'm purchasing another car unit for it and intend running the antenna to the surface right behind the windscreen. Plug a direct line into the jack in the Cassette unit and power it from the power adapter in the cowl. Will this work? I've tried it with my IPOD however, there is signal interference from the AC adapter. The IPOD signal is fine running of its internal battery. Need advice. Dave
  10. I'm planning an Interstate ride from Memphis to San Diego the last week of March-first week of April. Southern route via Little Rock, Dallas, Abeline (overnight) El Paso, Tucson (overnight) San Diego by mid day on day three. Anyone else heading that way?
  11. I'm looking for suggestions or solutions for increasing rider cooling behind the lower fairings on my 05 Midnight Venture. I believe the lower fairing causes some back draft of hot air across my chins after passing through the radiator. Has anyone found a solution for this comfort issue? I've seen a few modifications to Goldwings for rider comfort such as the addition of attached air deflectors on the outside edge of the fairing to direct airflow into the area immediately behind the lower fairing to break up this "hot air backflow". Any suggestions?
